New Beginings

Happy New Year to you all ... how are you doing? did you have a nice Christmas and New Year? I was working but it wasn't too bad! This is the first card I have made this year and it is for my friend who had recently found out she is pregnant. I have used the very cute CC Designs 'Oh Baby!' set and coloured the woman in with Copics, cut out and added to a Nestabilities oval with 3d foam pads. A white card blank has been layered with MME Quite Contrary papers - So Cute and Play {my favourites of last year I think!} and then wrapped with Light Pink ribbon and Sew Easy floss; tied in a bow with a Doodlebug button. The Elzybells greeting as been stamped and cut with a QuicKutz Cookie Cutter die. Pearls added to finish. Sorry for the very dark photo, I tried to 'lighten' it in PSP and it looked awful! I have entered the card into the Simon Says Stamp New Beginnings challenge.

STAMPS: CC Designs, Elzybells Art Stamps. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Anita's, Craftwork Cards, My Minds Eye. ACCESSORIES: Nestabilities Dies, Dies to Die for ribbon, We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Floss, Doodlebug button, QuicKutz Cookie Cutter die, The Hobby House pearsl. COPICS - skin: E0000, E000, E00, R20; hair: Y23, YR21, E31; top and hairband: R81, R83, R85; jeans: B91, B93, B95, B97; slippers: E31, E34, E35, E37.

Now, I usually make New Years Resolutions in some form or another but I am not one to kick myself if I don't achieve them. I was thankful to have some great things happen last year - I passed my driving test, my brother and sister-in-law gave me a beautiful nephew, I had the courage to cut my hair short which I now love!, I took my mentorship course and passed with an 'A' and I met a wonderful man :0)

So this year I plan to ... get down to the weight I was at the beginning of 2010, to undertake my dissertation and pass my degree and to spend more time with my lovely man!! From a crafty point of view I plan on using more of my 'old' stuff up and try to use everything in my craft room at least once! I hope 2011 is a great one for all my readers.

Niece & Nephew

How are we doing? all ready for Christmas? As per usual I am not very organised this year, I still have cards to make but here are the cards I have made for my niece and nephew. I have made easel cards using Nestabilities shapes for the base.

My niece's card uses CC Designs Trim the Tree Emma and coloured with Copics and cut out using Nestabilities Labels Fourteen dies. The sentiment is from the CC Designs Amy R Holiday Greetings set. The letters are stamped using a Studio G set and punching out using a mini square punch.

For my nephew's card I have used the very cute LOTV Igloo for Two and also coloured with Copics. The paper on the base is from the Echo Park Wintertime kit. And the rest of the ingredients are the same!

Birthday Girl

Oh my goodness! I am glad that snow has gone! I had so much trouble getting to work, it cost me a fortune in taxi's. I hope you all managed to stay warm and safe. Here is a card I made before all the snow came down, it is using one of the new MFT A La Mode stamps - these are so cute! I love the font of the sentiments. I have stamped the 'Birthday Girl' out and coloured with Copics adding glitter to the cake icing with a Copic Spica pen. She has been added to the base with DST. The base is made by layering up My Minds Eye Lost & Found papers - such pretty colours! I have then added Prima E.Line flowers with pearls in the centres and stamped the sentiment out and added with 3d foam pads to finish.

Halloween Honey

Ok ... so I couldn't resist having a quick play with Honey Witch Digi stamp from All That Scraps. I have to say although I love the digi designs I hate that my ink runs from my printer, I know I should leave it to set but I am too impatient!! I have added two pics, one lightened in PSP and one not ... cos sometimes the lightened version takes the essence of the colours away I feel.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Fall Birgita

Happy Halloween! I would love to say that I have made some Halloween cards this year but I haven't had the time even though I have some yummy stamps too! never mind, there is always next year! Baby Jake

Hello all, I hope you are well? For those of you who don't follow me on Facebook I had some great news last week. First off I passed my driving test which I am SO happy about! The second great piece of news was that my brother and sister-in-law had a baby boy and they called him Jake. So here is the card I made for them ...

First of I stamped the oh so cute Nellie Snellen Koetie stamp out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to white cardstock and coloured with Copics. This layer has then been mounted to blue cardstock and then on to a white card blank. The greeting is from the Personal Impressions Mix and Match set and 3 mini pearls added underneath. That's it - simple but effective I think! Have a great weekend, oh and apologies for the dark photos!

STAMPS: Nellie Snellen, Personal Impressions. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Craftwork Cards, Papermania. ACCESSORIES: The Hobby House pearls, Copic Markers.

New Copic Storage

I have been busy organising my craft room again the last few weeks. I have finally managed to EZ Mount all my un-mounted stamps and put them in DVD cases (from The Artistic Stamper) ... there were tons of them and it took a while! I also bought some new storage for my Copics ...

These came this morning (there are three individual shelving units) and I LOVE them already! They are made by a company in the USA called Studio 3 Solutions they are quite cheap to buy but they did cost a fortune in shipping. They fit in with my room so well though. I have updated my photo's in my craft room folder in Picassa on the right if anyone wanted to have a peek.

Right to now get creating ...

I Baked a Cake

Anybody still there? I know it has been a long time ... what with my health, doing two courses at university as well as work and driving lessons, life for me is a bit hectic right now, hence my lack of creating and blogging. First off I hope you are all well? I'm here to share with you the card I have made for my mum's birthday. Yes, I have wiped the dust off my Copics and combined them with my latest goodies from Die to Die for and had a play ...

I have used one of the very cute bear stamps from Lili of the Valley, this is the one with the cat but I have masked him off. I have then coloured with Copics and cut out using one of the new Nestabilities dies, these are called Lacey Circles. I have then added the image to the base with DST. The base has been made by layering MME Lost and Found papers (these are delicious!) to a white card blank. I have then added flowers to the side; the pink ones are Prima Fairytale Roses and the creamy/pinky one is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the stem ones are from my stash. Finshed off some pearlyness and a greeting from the WRS Girly Greetings set.

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley, Wild Rose Studio. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Anita's, My Minds Eye. ACCESSORIES: Nestabilities dies, organza ribbon by Ribbon Oasis, pearls from The Hobby House, Copic Markers.
