Clearly Besotted Teasers | Hi There

Hello there and welcome to day three of the Clearly Besotted February 2022 Teasers. Not long to go now, release day is Tuesday, 1st February. Today I have a card to share with you using the new Whatever The Weather Fun set. This set is super cute as it has lots of critters flying along on umbrellas. I decided to use the umbrella as a parasol for my card and make more of a spring/summer card.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by stamping the bear with the flower umbrella and the cloud images from the Clearly Besotted Whatever The Weather Fun Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies section) and fussy cut out with scissors.

I die cut two panels of cardstock using the Sunny Studio Slimline Pennants Dies. One was then cut down further using the cloud die from the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Die Set. With the piece intact, I blended Tim Holtz Distress Inks on using Ink Blending Brushes. I used Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade and Mermaid Lagoon. I then placed the Clearly Besotted Sunny Day Stencil over the top and blended on more ink before removing the stencil.

The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape. I then added the cloud piece on top, followed by the bear, also adhered with thin foam tape. The clouds were added with tape runner, cutting off the excess from the sides. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added white gel pen dots to the image and black glaze pen to the bear's eyes.

Birthday Ninjas

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you that I made for my nephew for his birthday last week. I used the Tiny Ninjas set from Mama Elephant, along with my favourite die from them plus some Clearly Besotted stencils.

I started off by creating the background. I took a 4.25" x 5.5" panel of white cardstock and blended Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks on top. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot. I then took the Clearly Besotted Tale of Two Cities Stencil and placed it towards the bottom of the panel. I then pounced, rather than blended, Black Soot Distress Ink on top.

I left the panel to dry for the a little while and while I was doing that, I made a mask for the buildings. I simply drew around the inside of the stencil on to mask paper and cut it out. It was placed over the panel and then I placed the Clearly Besotted Sunny Day Stencil on top. With this one, I blended Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink inside for some light rays.  Once the whole panel was dry, I die cut it using the Mama Elephant Big Happy Birthday Die and popped the wording out. I added the panel to a white 4.75" x 6" card base with tape runner. I then die cut three more of the birthday die cuts from white cardstock and stacked them up for an inlay look

To complete the eclipse look, I adhered the ink blended ones on top. I then took three ninjas from the Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas Stamp Set and stamped them on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. They were coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. I added them to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I stamped the sentiment from the set on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with tape runner.

Since the card was an odd shape, I did make my own envelope using the WRMK 123 Punch Board. Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. I really do appreciate it. I hope you are having a great week so far! Take care!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Pawsome Christmas

Hello there and welcome to day two of the Clearly Besotted October 2020 Teasers. Today I am using the adorable new Holiday Huskies set. This is such a cute set that is perfect for making scenes. I kept mine very simple but you could definitely make it more detailed if you wanted to as there are lots of images in the set.

I started off by stamping the igloo and two of the huskies from the Clearly Besotted Holiday Huskies Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area for reference) and then fussy cut them out with scissors.

I took a panel of cardstock and cut it using the main rectangle die from the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics Die Set. I die cut another and then cut it further using the landscape die to create a snow bank. With the solid rectangle piece, I blended on Distress Inks to create a sky a little like the northern lights. I used Mermaid Lagoon at the top, followed by Wilted Violet and then Picked Raspberry at the bottom. It was heavily spritzed with Tsuekineko Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and set aside to dry.

The panel was adhered on to a 8.5" x 3.5" white card base with foam tape. I then added the snow bank on top using tape runner. The igloo and huskies were added with more foam tape. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink and applied white embossing powder. It was heat set and cut in to a strip before adding to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Bubbles around the sentiment.

Not a traditional colour for the huskies but I wanted to keep them light since the background is so colourful. Thank you so much for stopping by today, see you tomorrow for day three! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Birthday Dip Dye

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my uncle for his birthday. I thought it would be fun to try Kristina's Faux Dip Dye Technique for it.

I first took a sheet of watercolour paper and ripped the bottom edge. I then taped it to a board and added layers of Dr Ph. Martin's Hydrus Watercolours on top. I used various blues and teals and dried each layer in between. I did end up doing two layers of each colour to intensify the colours. Once dry, the panel was adhered flat to an A2 white card base.

I took the Mama Elephant Big Happy Birthday Die and die cut this three times from white cardstock. They were stacked up and glued together using Multi Medium Matte. I then die cut the top layer from Tim Holtz Distress Woodgrain Cardstock. The die was adhered to the card with more Multi Medium Matte Glue.

A really simple card but I do like how it turned out. I think the woodgrain texture on the die cut gives a slight bit more interest to the card. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Let's Celebrate!

Hello there and welcome to the Clearly Besotted November 2019 Teasers. I know I say this every month but seriously, where has the year gone?! The new sets release on the 1st November 2019 and from now until then, we are sharing teasers with you. My card today uses the new It's A Celebration set.

I first took 10 of the hamsters from the Clearly Besotted It's A Celebration Stamp Set and stamped them on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and then fussy cut them out using scissors.

I took a panel of white cardstock and cut it using the Mama Elephant Circle Grid Die. I placed this over an A2 white card base and drew faint pencil lines inside the circles, this is so that I knew where to ink blend. I then masked off each section separately, erased the pencil line and blended on Distress Inks in rainbow colours. The grid piece was adhered on top with foam tape and then the hamsters added to the windows with more foam tape.

I took the sentiments from the Clearly Besotted Tiny Type Stamp Set and stamped these on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. These were cut in to strips and added to the card across two of the windows. To finish off I added a few Lucy's Raindrops, as well as Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the balloons.

Aren't the hamsters adorable? I love them! I had hamsters as a child but I never remember any of them holding balloons, sadly! You never know what they might get up to at night, though! ;) For more inspiration using the new sets, please head over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Keren and Lisa. Mama Elephant 7th Anniversary Stampede Day 1

Welcome to a very special Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop! We are celebrating 7 years this month with a fantastic new holiday release along with our amazing friends!

You can shop the newest release which is LIVE in our store now!

I am delighted to be joining Mama Elephant their 7th Anniversary celebrations today. I have two projects to share with you using the wonderful new Oh Puppy Tree set.

For my card, I started off by creating the background. I wanted a sparkly, snowy scene so I first blended on a layer of Distress Inks on to a panel of white cardstock with blending brushes. I used Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch for the first layers and then added some darkness at the top with Chipped Sapphire. For the sparkly effect, I spritzed over Sheer Shimmer Sparkle Spritz and then Distress Spray Stain in Picket Fence. The piece was then set aside to dry.

I took the puppy tree image from the Mama Elephant Oh Puppy Tree Stamp Set and stamped it on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The image was then coloured with Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and then die cut out using the coordinating dies.

I added the background panel flat to an A2 white card base with tape runner and then added the puppy tree on top with foam tape. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped this on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. This was then cut out using the Mama Elephant Sentiment Strips Dies and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to parts of the image for even more sparkle.

Next up, I created two tags with the same design as the card. I cut the tag die from the Mama Elephant Basic Set Dies twice from white cardstock. I then blended Distress Inks on to them. For the blue tag, I used Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch and for the purple one, I used Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet. These were then spritzed with the same shimmer spray, as well as the Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain and set aside to dry.

I stamped the two individual puppies from the Mama Elephant Oh Puppy Tree Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. They were coloured with Copic Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. I also die cut snowbanks for the puppies to stand on with the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Dies and the hole reinforcer from white cardstock.

I took two sentiments from the Mama Elephant Mini Merry Messages Stamp Set and stamped these on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. These were then cut in to strips.

I first adhered the snowbanks to the tags with tape runner and then added the puppies on top with foam tape. The sentiments were added on next, again with foam tape. I then adhered the hole reinforcer with liquid glue and added bows made with black twine on top. To finish off, I added Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the puppies noses.

VIDEO | Eclipse Sentiment + More Favourite Copic Colour Combos

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the eclipse technique. I had a few comments following this card that I made to share how I created it. Instead of doing a flower, I thought I would do something different and make a cloud background with some adorable elephants.

To start off my card, I stamped two of the elephants from the Mama Elephant Fly With Me Stamp Set on to a panel of white cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I created masks for these with masking paper and added them on top of the images. I then created my cloud background.

I took the MFT Cloud Stencil and placed this on top of my panel, securing down with Post It Tape. Using a blending brush, I blended Distress Ink on the panel, moving the stencil down as I went. I used Mermaid Lagoon at the top, followed by Blueprint Sketch in the middle and Chipped Sapphire at the bottom.

The masks were removed from the elephants and they were coloured using Copic Markers. I used my favourite warm grey colour combination on the elephants. I then used my favourite purple and pink combos on the balloons. The colours that I used are listed below the supplies section.

I took the Mama Elephant Big Happy Birthday Die and placed this over my panel. I then ran it through my die cutting machine, making sure to keep all of the pieces intact. I cut a further three layers of the die (the positive piece) from white cardstock. I adhered the stamped panel on to an A2 white card base with tape runner and then added one of the white happy birthday dies in the gap. The inside pieces of the letters were then added in. I  stacked up the white die cuts and then finally added the image piece on top to complete the design.

I really like creating eclipse cards, non-cardmakers always wonder how you created them! I usually do this technique with just backgrounds or florals but I think it did work quite well with the elephants on this card too. Thank you so much for visiting me today. I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Blow Out The Candles

Hello there and welcome to day two of the Clearly Besotted April 2019 Teasers. Today I am using the new Dragon Plushies set. Oh my cuteness! It is adorable! I thought it would look cute to have the dragon flying up above the clouds blowing out the candles on his cake.

I started off by stamping the dragon, flames and cake from the Dragon Plushies set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and fussy cut them out (but there are coordinating dies if you do not like fussy cutting!). I then took a Memento Marker and went around the edges of the images to neaten them up. These were then set aside while I worked on my background.

I took a panel of watercolour paper and applied Distress Inks on to it using an ink blending tool. I used Black Soot, Seedless preserves, Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon. I then spritzed it with Sheer Shimmer Spritz, as well as adding some larger drops by flicking the nozzle. I also added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint for some stars in the sky. This was set aside to dry before adding it to the front of an A2 white card base.

I took a panel of white cardstock and cut the top edge of this using the cloud die from the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die set. This was added to the card with foam tape. I then added the cake, dragon and flames with a combination of tape runner and foam tape. I added Hero Arts Snowfall Glitter on to the cake for some added sparkle. I took the sentiment from the Small Sayings set and stamped this on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Iridescent Jewels and added black glaze pen to the dragon's eyes.

Ellie Birthday Wishes

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for a very good friend of mine who celebrated her birthday last month. She loves elephants, so of course I had to use the adorable Mama Elephant Fly With Me set!

I started off by taking an A2 white card base and masking off the edges with Post-It Tape. I then took the MFT Cloud Stencil and placed this over the top and applied Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink with an Ink Blending Tool. Once the area was covered, I removed the Post-It Tape and set the card base aside.

I took three of the elephants from the Mama Elephant Fly With Me set and stamped these on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area). They were die cut out with the coordinating dies and  added to the card with foam tape. I then took one of the sentiments from the Mama Elephant Occasional Labels set and stamped this with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to white cardstock too. This was cut out and added to the card with foam tape also. To finish off, I added a few sequins.

40th Birthday Flowers

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made back in August for my Sister-in-Law for her 40th Birthday. I am now finally getting around to sharing it.

I started off by stamping the WPlus9 Kind Soul flowers on to a panel of Fabriano watercolour paper with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. The panel was then coloured using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, a paintbrush and water (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section). Once the panel was dry, I die cut it using the largest rectangle die in the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die set.

I then took the Altenew Mega Numbers dies and die cut the 4 and 0 from the middle. I cut a further four numbers from white cardstock. I adhered the panel flat to an A2 white card base with tape runner and then stacked the white cardstock numbers up and added them in to the gaps. The image panel ones were added on top to complete the design through the panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the WPlus9 Strictly Sentiments 1 stamp set on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was then cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Birthday Fly With Me

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my friend Niki for her birthday. I used the super cute Mama Elephant Fly With Me set, along with an alcohol ink background made with Copic refills.

I first created the alcohol ink background. I took a piece of Yupo paper and applied Copic Refills in B0000, B00 and BG11. I dropped dots on to the paper and then spritzed air on to it using the spritzer tool. I set the piece aside to dry before stamping the sentiment on to it using Versamark Ink. The sentiment is from the ME Blogging Buddies set. I applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. I then placed an acrylic block over it for a few minutes to help prevent any warping of the Yupo paper. This was then adhered to the front of an A2 white card base with tape runner.

I took a panel of white cardstock and die cut the cloud die from the ME Cloud Nine die set in to the middle. This created a window piece so that you can see the alcohol ink background behind. The panel was added to the card with foam tape.

I stamped one of the elephants from the ME Fly With Me set on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured him using Copic Markers (the colours used are listed below) and then cut out with the coordinating dies. He was placed on the card with a combination of foam tape and tape runner. I added shimmer pen to the balloon, followed by a coating of Nuvo Crystal Glaze. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Jewels from Lucy's Cards.

COPIC MARKERS: Elephant - W7, W5, W3, W2, W1, W0, R00, R000. Balloon - V17, V15, V12.

These elephants are adorable and I am hoping to use them again soon. Thank you so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a lovely day and a fabulous weekend!
