Week 34 Sketch - LIM

Just got in by the skin of my teeth. I spent ages thinking about this sketch for the current challenge over at Less Is More, hmmm ... what to do? I have used this layout so many times on cards but everything I tried just didn't look right. So finally I have come up with the card below. I am not overely happy with it but I like the bamboo in black against kraft. First of all I took a piece of Kraft CS and ran it through my cuttlebug using the PTI Linen Embossing Plate then mounted with PTI Picth Black CS and added to a white card blank. I cut another square of Kraft CS and embosed this too and stamped the bamboo from the PTI Peaceful Garden set on it in black ink. This has then been added to the base with 3d foam {I orginally mounted this to black CS too but changed my mind}. Sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame It Set stamped in the bottom corner. Mini pearls added to finish.

STAMPS: Papertrey Ink, Waltzingmouse Stamps. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Craftwork Cards, Papertrey Ink, Bazill Basics. TOOLS: Papertrey Ink Linen Embossing Plate. EMBELLISHMENTS: The Hobby House Pearls.

Little Boy Star - DTDF

Here is a quick card made using the fab Echo Park Little Boy collection, these papers are so bright - great for boy cards. I have simply layered the papers following a Viva La Verve Sketch. I have cut a Nestabilities star (currently not in the shop but if you ask Tracy nicely she will order it for you!) from one of the papers and added with 3d foam. The button and linen thread are by Stampin' Up! I have then stamped the greeting from the Ladybug Crafts Ink It's Only Words 1 set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Metallic - LIM

Here is my submission to this week's Less Is More challenge of Metallic. Regular readers of my blog will know that I don't use much silver or gold in my cards and although I own a ton of metal charms I rarely use them so this was a bit of a challenge for me! For my card I have used a metal word that I have had in my stash for years and years. I think it was free from a magazine. I have made a card blank from SU! Marina Mist CS and added the word to the bottom corner. I have then stamped the 'Birthday' above it and punched out small circles of SU! Bashful Blue CS and added them around the words. Simple as that, I do like it though!

STAMPS: Hero Arts. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Stampin Up! TOOLS: Hole Punch. EMBELLISHMENTS: from stash.

Thanks for visiting today, horrible weather we have had down in the south. It will probably be sunny tomorrow whilst I am at work!

LIM - Take 3 Challenges

This is my submission for the latest challenge over at Less Is More. This week we have been asked to make a card using 3 of their previous challenges. The three I have chosen are: week 6 - Off The Edge, week 16 - Butterflies & week 25 Button or Ribbon. It could also be used for the following challenges: week 2 - Flower or Tree, week 3 - Spring, week 12 - Off Centre, week 23 - Something With Legs, week 28 - Use Ink and finally week 29 - Things That Move.

So, first of all I have cut out a layer using the PTI Half & Half die and stamped the grass and flowers  from the PTI Peaceful Garden set on it using Memento inks. I have then stamped the sentiment from the PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments set over the top. I have added a PTI Plum Pudding button on the edge of the layer with SU! linen thread and added the layer to a white card balnk with 3d adhesive squares. I have then stamped a butterfly from the PTI Butterfly Dreams set on to PTI Plum Pudding CS and cut out, and added to the panel with rhinestones in the centre. I have then punched a little butterfly using the same CS and added with a teeny rhinestone.

I am also entering this card into the A Passion For Papertrey Challenge of Anything Goes.
