Happy Birthday

This is another post that I already had on my blog drafts, hopefully I'll be feeling better enough to make a new card soon ...

This is a card I have made for one of my very good friend's. She loves pink so I thought this PTI Raspberry Fizz would work well for her. I got the inspiration from the layout from Maile Belles {thank you for the inspiration}. First I have cut a circle out of white CS using a Nestabilities die and run it through my Cuttlebug using the SU! Manhattan Flower embossing folder {available from the lovely Jules} and adhered it to a white card blank. I have then cut a strip of PTI Raspberry Fizz and stamped it with one of the blooms from the PTI Beautiful Blooms stamp set using Memento Rose Bud ink. I have cut out a banner using the PTI Dounble Ended Banner die and adhered it to the card cutting off one end. This has then been stamped with the Elzybells greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I have cut a butterfly from the PTI Love Lives Here die set out of felt and sprayed with Glimmer Mist {you can't really see it in the photo but there is a lovely shimmer to it in real life}. Bubblegum Doodlebug buttons have been added with floss and the bigger one has two tiny tags on it punched from the SU! Tiny Tag punch and the heart stamped from the PTI Sign Language set. Papermania Adhesive gems added to the heart tag and the inside of the butterfly to finish. WOW! That was a lot of products used for such a simple looking card!!

Thanks to mandi, I am entering this into  the current Less Is More challenge of adding buttons or ribbon to your card.

Happy Birthday Jules!

Hello all,

Thank you so much for the comments on my post below, they are so appreciated. Today is the first day I am starting to feel a little better and managed to get on to my lap top. I have found a post I made before but never posted (I have another one on here too which I will see if I can post in a few days). I made the card just a few days after my grandad died, its very simple but I do like it.

I have made this card for the lovely Jules. Jules keeps me supllied with all Stampin' Up! products so what else could I use for her card than SU! products. I have taken a piece of SU! Rose Red and rounded the corners, stamped the flower from the Growing Green set with PTI Fresh Snow on to it. I have then printed the sentiment from my PC on to vellum and added the strip over the panel. The panel has been added to a white card blank with 3d foam; a Rose Red button adhered with Linen Thread added to the strip and rhinestones added beneath the panel.

STAMPS: Stampin' Up! INK: Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow. CS: Craftwork Cards, Stampin' Up!, Paperchase vellum. TOOLS: X Cut Corner Rounder punch, PC. EMBELLISHMENTS: Stampin' Up! Designer Buttons in Subtles, Stampin' Up! Linen Thread, Stampin' Up! Rhinestones.

MIA

Hello all,

I'm hoping this works 'cos I'm attempting to post from my iPhone. I wanted to come on here to explain my recent absence.

Following my lumbar puncture I sustained complications. For my lumbar puncture they drain my spinal fluid to lower the pressure around my brain, they took too much spinal fluid this time and dropped the pressure too much. I wasn't able to walk, sit up or eat for five days. I spent six days in hospital and I am now home. I still have a headache and have been told it may last another week. If it doesn't go they will get me back into hospital for a procedure where they inject blood into my spine - I really don't want that so please cross your fingers it goes!

Just wanted to let you know, apologies for not replying to e-mails etc but hopefully I will be able to soon.

Best wishes to you all,

Shades Of Blue - LIM

Hello there, first of all I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for their messages and those who have sent cards, they are so appreciated.

I managed to make a card on Monday which was lovely to do after all that has happened, nice and calming. I wanted to make a card for the Less Is More Challenge of Shades of Blue. I know there is not that much white space on the card (sorry Chrissie & Mandi) but I do still feel it's clean and simple and hope you agree! It is inspired by the very telented Nichole Heady.

I have used Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms 2 dies for the flowers, one cut with felt and added a circle cut from card and then glittered. The leaves are from the MFT Die Namics Upsey Daisy Set. The border under the sentiment (Papertrey Ink Birthday Basics) is an MFT Die-Namaic Little Open Scallop Border die cut from Bazzill Ocean CS. The embossing on the SU! Bashful Blue CS I have done with my Martha Stewart Scoring Board. Gem stones added to finish.

STAMPS: Papertrey Ink. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Craftwork Cards, Bazzill Basics, Doodlebug Designs, Stampin' Up! Right, sorry for the rush explanation of the card, I am off for my lumbar puncture this afternoon,

Lil' Thanks

Hello everyone, I just wanted to say a big thank you for all those who have sent me messages of support following my last post. They really are so appreciated. I have decided that I will be having my lumbar puncture on Wednesday as planned and arrangements are underway for my grandad's funeral.

I have popped on here to show you a little thank you card I have made for one of my very good friends. The card is little, only 4"x4" but perfect for the little stamp I have used - Whipper Snapper Lil' Standing Teddy. I have stamped her directly to the card blank and coloured with Copics. The sentiment is from a Stampendous (Agapanthus) set and Doodlebug Mini Jewels added underneath. Simple but cute I think!

STAMPS: Whipper Snapper, Stampendous. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. CS: Craft Creations. TOOLS: Copics - E55, E57, R81, R83. EMBELLIHMENTS: Doodlebug Designs Mini Jewels.

Thank you for visiting today, hopefully I shall be back soon.
