Birthday Butterflies

Here is the card I have made for my SIL's Birthday today. I have first taken a sheet of PTI SS White CS and made it in to a card base. I have then scored lines along the bottom half (sorry, not easy to photograph!) using my Martha Stewart Scoring Board. I have cut four butterflies using the MS 3 in 1 Butterfly punch out of PTI Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz CS and added these on the lines. The sentiment from the PTI Fillable Frames Sentiment Set stamped above the lines with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The butterflies have been finished off with Doodlebug pearls.

Anniversary Wishes

Here is a quick card I made for my aunt & uncle's wedding anniversary. I have based the layout of the card on the Retrosketches #15 sketch. I have simply taken a sheet of PTI SS White CS and made it into a card base. I have taken a sheet from the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes Collection and cut it out with a Nestabilities Labels 1 die and added this to the base, cutting off the excess on the left side. I have wrapped it with Doodlebug Doodle twine and tied in a bow. I have stamped the Waltzingmouse Stamps sentiment and cut out with an SU! Word Window punch and added with 3D foam pads. Doodlebug Jewels added to finish.

Created From Color - One Colour Shading

Here is another piece of homework I have done for my copic colouring class. The homework was to colour the image ©Kristy Dalman using only one colour copic - one for each part of the image. The class was to show the versitility of copic markers, that even if you don't have loads of shades of colours you can still create depth of colour. Here is my effort:

The only thing I don't like about the technique is that you do not get much of a smooth blend, the lines are harsher. What do you think? Do you use this technique?

Happy Birthday Brother

Here is the card I have made for my brother's birthday this month. I have stamped the boy image from The Greeting Farm Later Sk8ter set on to PTI SS White CS and coloured with Copic Markers. I have then cut him out and mounted to a piece of white CS that has also been mounted to PTI Blueberry Sky CS. The greeting from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set was then stamped and then brads added to the corner. The panel was then added to a card base made from PTI Kraft CS.

Papertrey Ink - July Haul

Hi guys,  I thought I would show you what I got in my July PTI haul. It came at the end of July and it had to sit in the box, unopened for three days whilst I finished my dissertation. I could not believe I had to do that but I got to open it in the end! :0) Since I have been busy I only just got to film it but here it is ...

Before you watch the video, I have had a number of people ask about customs fees and shopping with PTI again. I am not going to talk about it here since I have addressed cost etc in my video and I have also done  a post on it HERE but I just wanted to say that I can tell you the facts about how much things cost but to whether it is worth it or not is my own opinion. I know some people will disagree with me.

Thanks so much for watching, hope you are having a lovely day!

Created From Color Class - First Image

Hi all, since I haven't been creating much lately and lost my enthusiasm a bit, I decided to enrol in the Created by Color Copic Colouring Class by Kristy Dalman and Melissa Andrew.

I thought I would show you my first image, this was a piece of homework from last week. We have to do a first image to see where we are currently and then a last piece to see if there is any improvement in our colouring technique.

The image is by Some Odd Girl and it is coloured with a mixture of Copic Sketch and Ciao markers.

I am hoping the class will help with my blending skills and bring my enthusiasm back too!

July Haul

Is anybody still there? I have been away so long that I understand if you are not! I've had so much going on in my life the last month that I have had no time or inclination to make cards sadly but I am hoping that will change now. Good news is that I finally got my dissertation done and handed in (nine months after the original hand in date). That is a big relief. Thanks so much for those that sent me wishes on my last post, really appreciated. I will let you know my other news when it is confirmed.

Anyway, here is my July haul video ... actually I bought so little in July it is hardly a haul, just a couple of biits that I bought but I thought I'd share it anyway. I did recieve a PTI order a couple of days ago but I will show that seperately.

So, hopefully I will be back soon, I know I missed my blogoversary :0( It was on the 4th and it was my 4th year of blogging too! I will get some candy sorted out soon. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you are all happy and healthy,
