Yeah ... I Did It!

University made me wait almost a month but I finally got my results today ... I have passed my course and you are now looking at Staff Nurse Short!! I want to thank everyone for their support, it has really been appreciated. My graduation ceremony isn't until May next year so you won't see any pics of me in my gown and motarboard just yet! I can harly breathe at the moment, I have caught a horrible cold and it is making me feel awful but at least I have some good news now!

Woohoo!

Elzybells Challenge 2

Again, apologies for the late posting. Last weeks challenge for Elzybells was a great sketch designed by Jeanne. For my card I have used one of the very cute penguins and coloured him in with Copic markers. I have changed the sketch slightly by cutting in out into a circle instead of a square using my Nestabilities dies and added to base with 3D foam pads. I have made the base by layering up Lilac CS with 'Lilac Spinkles' paper with the corners cut out onto a white card blank. Gem stones added to the corners to finish. Check out Elizabeth's blog for all the other DT designs and the challenge for the 1st October.

On Your Wedding Day

Maria sent me a gorgeous image folder crammed full of Forever Friends images this week. I had commented on card she made using one of the stamps, that I was unable to get them anywhere at the time, so she sent me a Natalie some images, how lovely is that? Thank you SO much Maria. I have used one of them to make this card for my cousin who is getting married on Saturday. I wanted to use pink and the gem stones as that is what I used to make their place cards - all 200 of them!!

I coloured in the gorgeous image with Coloursoft pencils (I was going to use Sansodor as well but liked the softness of the pencils on their own), mounted to pink CS and added to base with 3D foam pads. The base has been made by layering pink CS on to a white card blank and adding a panel of white which has had the greeting printed on to it using my PC (Scriptina font used). I have then run a strip through my Cuttlebug using the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder and also mounted to pink. Ribbon wrapped around and bow added. Gem stones added to finish. I hope they like it. I would like to give thanks to Zoe for inspiration for the layout of this card.

STAMPS: Forever Friends. CS: Anita's, white from stash, Bazzill Basics. ACCESSORIES: Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder, Gem stones by Rhinestones Online, ribbon by Ribbon Oasis.

I have been feeling a bit low recently what with my exam and that so they really cheered me up, thank you so much Vicki, you really are a truely beautiful and kind person :0)

So I took my exam yesterday, I think it went OK but I actually thought it was harder than last time so I just have to hope that I did OK. Now that is over with I can try and make some cards now till I start work on the 16th.
