Some sad news ...

My grandfather passed away yesterday evening after a long battle with dementia and a short one with pneumonia. It's feels bad saying it, but I am glad he is at peace now. I am doing ok as is my mother but my grandmother is obviously quite distraught, she expected him to get better.

Due to this I may not be around for a little while, I am due to have my next lunbar puncture on Wednesday which I can't really cancel. So not sure when I will be back but hopefully it won't be too long.

The last of the thank you's (for now anyway!) I have used some more of my new PTI goodies with this card. I have first cut out circles using three various sizing Nestabilities dies from SU! CS in Marina Mist, Bashful Blue & Baja Breeze - all available from the lovely Jules. I have then stamped the 'thank' from the PTI Modern Basics set and cut out the 'you' using one of the PTI Wonderful Words dies out of SU! Crumb Cake CS. I have then added a SU! Designer Button with SU! Linen Thread - again both from Jules, and then added white Pebbles Inc Candy Dots to the bigger circle.

Party Fergus

This is a really quick card for a boy. I have used one of the new Wild Rose Studio stamps, now available at Dies to Die for; stamped him out and coloured with Copics. I have cut him out with a Nestabilities rectangle and layered with DB Limeade CS then added to base with 3d foam pads. The sentiment, from the Ladybug Crafts Ink It's Only Words 2 set, has been stamped and also mounted the same. Took less than five minutes to assemble, obviously a bit more for the colouring though!

I have made this card for my brother and sister in law (yes still on my Birthday thank you's!) follwing  A Passion For Papertrey - It's Elementary Challenge. I have chosen earth as my element and gone with flowers as they symbolise earth I feel. I have stamped the flowers from the PTI Modern Basics set out with Memeneto Grape Jelly ink and then stamped the stems (from a MFT set) and leaves using Memento Bamboo Leaves. I have then added a PTI Plum Pudding button to the largest flower with thread and rhinestones to the smaller ones. Sentiment (from the same set) stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I have mounted this panel with DB Lilac CS and added to a white card blank with 3d foam pads.

Happy Anniversary

This is a card I have made for my aunt and uncle for their wedding anniversary. I have been inspired by THIS card by Nichole Heady. I have used my beloved Elzybells stamps for this card, now sadly retired. I have stamped the hearts with Palette Fresh Snow ink on to Kraft CS and cut out using a Nestabilities square die; added to the base with 3D glue dots. Sentiment stamped beneath and then a dotted line made using a pokey tool and ruler. Finished with buttons added with thread.

Here is the card I have made for my dad this year. Now I don't usually combine a lot of patterned paper together especially bright colours but I saw THIS card by Judy Laing and I loved it! Thank you for the inspiration Judy. I have used LOTV Cheers Bear stamp; stamped him out and coloured with Copics then cut out and added to the base with 3d foam. The base is Echo Park Little Boy Collection added to a white card blank using the same layout as Judy's card. I have then added Stampin' Up! button and stamped the sentiment to finish.

Birthday Wishes

I have made this card for my cousin using By LoRi Designs Landon stamp. I have stamped him out and coloured with Copics and added him to an oval cut out with a nestabilities die with 3d foam. This has then been added to the base with more 3d foam. The base is Bazzill Kraft CS layered up with MME papers - Stella & Rose Hattie, Lime Twist Fly A Kite & Lime Twist Out Of The Blue. I have wrapped round some SU! Linen Thread and then added to a white card blank. The A Muse Birthday Wishes sentiment stamped on more Kraft CS and added to the bottom. Brads added to finish. I hope he likes it!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday ...

Today, well yesterday actually ... I have made a swatch for my Memento ink pad colours. I love the little swatches I have for cardstock so I thought I'd make one for my ink pads so it will be easier for me to find the right colour ink that I want to use. I first cut up 2x2" squares of cardstock (the main cardstock that I use) and then stamped all the colours out using a stamp (this one is by Papertrey Ink). I have then printed out the names of the ink pad onto labels (printed from my PC) and added them on to the cards. I have punched a little whole in the top and added them to a jump ring. Get me ... two posts in one day! Whilst had my PTI stuff out I thought I would take part in the new Less Is More In The Frame Challenge which is also one layer too. I have stamped flowers from the PTI Beautiful Blooms 2 set using Memento Lulu Lavender and Grape Jelly inks. I have then stamped the sentiment from the PTI Signature Series: Butterfly set in Tuxedo Black. I have made the lines using a Copic Multiliner pen and to finish it off I have added Doodlebug Lily White Sugar Coating Glitter to the centre of the smallest flower.

Here is another quick thank you card I have made for my family. I have added DB Ladybug CS on to a white card blank and rounded the corners using a punch. I have cut out two PTI Fruit Fusion Strawberry Dies and then stamped the strawberries on top (from the PTI Fruit Fusion Berry Stamp Set) with Memento inks; these have been added to a panel cut from the MFT Die-Namics Sweet Stack Labels. I have then stamped the greeting and added little jewels below. I think this set is so sweet ... excuse the pun!!

Male Star Cards

Here are two quick male cards inspired by Kerry, she has the best CAS layouts and they are perfect for male cards - thanks for the inspiration Kerry. I have simply used sheets from the Echo Park Dots & Stripes paper pad, cut them out and mounted with co-ordinating Bazzill CS; adding to a white card blank. I have printed out the greeting using Bookworm font from my PC and cut and mounted these too. I have then cut stars using the MFT Die-Namic Stacking Stars set and added Pebbles Inc Candy Dots to finish ... wow .. I have made a card with no stamps or Copics!

I have made these little cards to say thanks for the lovely cards and presents I recieved for my Birthday. I have punched butterflies with various shades of Doodlebug and Stampin' Up! CS using the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch and adorned the centres with Doodlebug Mini Jewels. The greeting is from the MFT Polka Dot Die and Greetings Set. Very simple but effective I think!

Agapanthus Thank You - LIM

I have made this card for my nan using the current challenge over at Less Is More which is Monochromatic. I have used green as this is my nan's favourite colour. I have stamped the Stampendous Agapanthus stems out using Versa Magic Aloe Vera ink and then stamped the greeting which comes in the set out using Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy ink. I have then mounted this with SU! Pear Pizzazz CS and added to the card blank. Pearls added to the centres of the flowers to finish. Very simple I know but I think my nan will like it!

... A video! Now please be aware the quality isn't great as it is filmed on my little Sony Cyber-shot camera and also this is the first video I have ever made so I am definately not a pro at this! As you can probably tell from the title of the post this card was made for my friend Sarah. I have used LOTV's Thomas with Champagne stamp which I thought looked a little like her beloved cat Bozzy! I have stamped him out and coloured with Copics adding glitter to the champagne using a Spica pen. I have then cut the image out using a Nestabilities circle and added to the base with 3d foam. The base is a sheet of Memory Box Dots Bluebird paper layered with Doodlebug Bubble Blue CS. I have also added a strip of this down the middle and added teeny tiny SU! pearls coloured with a Copic marker. I have punched out MS Monarch Butterflies using Memory Box Gingham Bluebird paper and added Doodlebug jewels in the centres. Sentiment from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Its Only Words 2 set stamped and cut out using a Nestabilities Label die.
