Butterfly Trio

Hello there, I am back with some pretty butterflies as promised. I was kindly sent some beautiful embossing powders from WOW! Embossing Powder a little while ago. I thought they would go really well combined with the Elegant Butterfly set from Clearly Besotted. The cards were kept really simple, using a tried and tested design, but the embossing powder gives it that little bit extra I think.

I started off by stamping the butterflies in Versamark ink and then applied the embossing powder over the top. I used Glacier Mint, Marshmallow and Parma Violet - such pretty colours! These were heat set and then cut out using the Elegant Butterflies dies.

I took a white A2 card base and ran this through my Cuttlebug using the Linen Embossing Plate from PTI. The sentiment, from the Clearly Besotted Sentimental Type set, was stamped on to it using black ink.

The butterflies were added above the sentiment using ATG for the centres and foam tape for the sides to give them some dimension. I finished off by adding a rhinestone to the centre.

Balloon

Hello there, I hope you had a lovely weekend. I am back with another male orientated birthday card. Although, it could be used for females too I think. I thought it would be fun to try out the Hero Arts Ombre Inks on a balloon. I think it adds some interest to an otherwise plain and simple card.

I first took a panel of white cardstock and cut the edge at a diagonal, a la Maile Belles. I then stamped the balloon slightly overlapping the edge of the cardstock. This is from the Simon Says Stamp Celebrate stamp set and I stamped it using the Pool to Navy Ombre ink. I stamped the balloon string in SSS Fog ink below (Sorry it is a little difficult to see in the photo!).

I then stamped the sentiment, from the Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages set in black ink beside the balloon. I took a white A2 card base and added a strip of black cardstock to it where the panel would be placed over the top. The panel was adhered with foam tape. I then finished ff with a couple of enamel dots.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I really do appreciate it. I should have a few more male cards in the box now. So hopefully that means I can go back to making pretty butterfly cards now! ;) Have a great day!

Birthday Candles

Hello there, if you have been following me for a while, you will know how much I struggle with male cards. I made the effort the last few days to try and make some more of them. I have used the candles from the PTI Birthday Style die collection as the focal point for these cards.

For the first one, I took the candle die and cut this six times. Three using blue paper from the LF Pint Sized Patterns: Beachside collection and then three using yellow paper from the LF Let's Polka collection. These dies come attached, as in the flame part and candle are together. So this is why I needed three of each colour. I cut them apart and then added them to a white card panel.

The panel was added to a Bazill Blueberry Sour card base with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment, from the WPlus9 Strictly Sentiments set, on to a separate piece of cardstock. This was cut with banner ends and then added on top of the candles with more foam tape. I finished off by adding Glossy Accents to the flames on the candles.

For the next card, I pretty much kept it the same, apart from I used the light blue/aqua paper from the Pint Sized Patterns: Beachside collection.

I also used SSS Surf Blue cardstock for the card base. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages set.

I think you could make these cards in a number of colours, for both male and female recipients. Many thanks for visiting me today. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Sending You Hugs

The challenge this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is clean and simple, along with the extra add on of using Hero Arts products if you wish. Well, I couldn't resist having a play with my new Playful Animals set by Hero Arts.

I started off by taking a Simon Says Stamp Stitched square die and cutting it using white cardstock. I cut off the left edge with my guillotine. I stamped the pig image from the Playful Animals set on to it and coloured him with Copic Markers. I then took a piece of paper from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color collection and also cut this with the square die.

The paper was added to a mini white card base (3.25" square in size) and then the image panel added to the right, as well as a small strip of silver glitter card. From the front, the stitching goes all around the edges of the card, which I thought gave it a nice touch. I stamped the sentiment, from the HA Hello Stamp & Cut set, on a separate piece of cardstock. I cut his out and added it to the card with foam tape. I finished off by adding a few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine sequins and adding Shimmer Pico Embellisher to the pig's nose.
