Clearly Whimsy October Blog Hop | Sweet Christmas

Hello there,  I have the pleasure of Guest Designing for Clearly Whimsy Stamps again this month for their October release :) The peeks started yesterday by the DT and I will be joining in for the next two days of blog hops. The products will be available to purchase from the Whimsy Stamps Store and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday.

I have the pleasure of kick starting the hop today and I am using the new super cute Gingerbread House stamp set. It is a great set filled with houses and extra items; for today I wanted to share how you can use one of the smaller images on a card.

I have started by taking a small card base (3.75x5") and stamped the candy cane image on top using HA Red Royal ink. I have then gone over these using a clear Wink of Stella brush pen for that added sparkle. The sentiment has been stamped on a strip of cardstock using black and red ink and added to the base with foam tape. I have added a little WOS to the 'sweet' portion of the sentiment too. I have then finished off with a few sparkly Doodlebug Sprinkles.

The next stop on the hop is Heather Pulvirenti. Whimsy Stamps have hidden a prize of a $15 gift certificate at one of the stops on the hop today. The winner will be drawn from one of the comments left on the designers blogs today, so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered in to the draw.

Here is a list of everyone sharing today:

Poinsettia Parade

Hello there, remember me? I am so sorry for my absence but I have not been well. I am back today though with a card I have made using the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Parade Die. It is such a beautiful die where you add different layers up to make the flower or use the individual layers separately. For my card today I layered them all up.

I first die cut them from white cardstock and then inked them using Distress Inks. I used Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany for the petals and Mowed lawn and Forest Moss for the leaves. When dry, I added a liberal layer of Clear Wink of Stella on top and layered them together adding a few pearls to the centre. I have then added this to a white cardstock layer and stamped the sentiment, which is from the Holiday Hellos set, below in black ink. The panel has then been added to an A2 card base with foam tape.

Six

Hello there, I made this card a little while ago for my niece's sixth birthday (I cannot believe she is six already!) but I was unable to share it before now. My niece is a very girly girl and likes sparkle so I thought I would make her a sequin shaker card. I thought it would be great to use the ME Carnival Cupcakes set with it too.

I first stamped and coloured the bunny, cupcake and balloon (the balloon is from the CBS It's Your Birthday Set, I outlined the image with black and then coloured it in) and coloured with Copics, adding a liberal amount of WOS on the cupcake and balloon.

I then took one of the MFT Rectangle Frames dies and cut this from white CS. I added acetate to the inside and then a double layer of foam tape to the back. I filled this with various sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and also Lawn Fawn. On the back I added a sheet of paper from the LF Hello Sunshine paper pad. The shaker was then added to a white card base and the bunny, cupcake and balloon on top with foam tape.

Simon's Snowflakes

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the SSS Lots of Snowflakes set, I was kindly sent this set from Simon Says Stamp during the STAMPtember release and it really is a favourite of mine. I first took a sheet of Neenah 110lb CS (if I had realised what I would be doing with it I actually would have used watercolour paper but never mind!) and stamped the snowflakes on it using Vermark ink. I then heat embossed these using WOW! Silver Pearl EP.

I went over the panel using TH Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Salty Ocean. I love that the embossing powder resists the inks. For a little shine, I took some Perfect Pearls and mixed it with water in a Mini Mister and sprayed this over the panel. Once dry, I cut this in strips and added it to a Neenah card base with foam tape. The sentiment, from the SSS Happy Hellos set, was stamped below using black ink. I finished off with a few HA smooth gems.
