Spooktacular

Hello there, today I have two little tags to share with you using some new products from the Reverse Confetti September release. I thought that the Spooktacular set would work really well on tags that could be added to little treat bags or used on their own as mini cards.

I started off by stamping the images from the Reverse Confetti Spooktacular Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and then die cut out using the Reverse Confetti Spooktacular Confetti Cuts.

I then die cut the new Reverse Confetti Fold Over Window Tag Confetti Cuts. I used Hero Arts Papaya Cardstock for the ghost costume one and MFT Wild Wisteria Cardstock for the bats. I then added Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Vellum behind the windows.

The sentiments were stamped on to the bottom of the tags with more black ink and then the images added on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of tags and tied in a bow.

Here are the links to what I have used on the tags. Affiliate links are used on some products. This means that if you make a purchase after clicking on my link, I receive a small commission with no extra cost to you. I truly appreciate your support when using these links. All products were personally purchased except those from Clearly Besotted, Hero Arts or those marked with an asterisk (*) which were kindly sent to me to use. You can read my full disclosure here.

VIDEO | Mica Powder With Stencils + Giveaway

Hello there, today I have a card and video to share with you using Arteza Mica Powder with a stencil. Arteza kindly sent me their Mica Powder Set of 60 Set (they also have a set of 35) to use. These powders are so pretty! They do not contain any binders (like some craft mica powder) so you do need to apply them in a way that will adhere/bind them to the cardstock and not rub off. I share more on this in the video below.

I started off my card by placing the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet Of Roses Stencil on to the front of an A2 black card base, holding it in place with memo tape. Using an ink blending tool applicator, I then applied Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad through the openings of the stencil. The stencil was removed and then the Arteza Mica Powder applied.

Using a fluffy brush, I picked up Sage Glow first and dabbed it on to the stencilled glue over the leaf areas. I then combined Bubblegum Glow and Periwinkle Glow for the roses. Once applied, I left it to dry for 30 minutes (you will see in the video that I left it a shorter amount of time but 30 minutes was needed) and wiped off the excess mica powder with a Swiffer Cloth.

I stamped the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Says It All Stamp Set on to the same black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied WOW Bright White Superfine Opaque Embossing Powder and heat set. It was die cut in to a strip using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels Dies and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Pink Moonshine Sequins with Multi Medium Matte Glue.

Here is the video showing the Mica Powder up close, ways to apply it and also how I made the card:

STAMptember 2020 | Skating By To Say Hi

Hello there and happy 15th STAMPtember! As part of the STAMPtember collaborations, Simon Says Stamp is teaming up with a huge amount of different brands to bring a new stamp set every day. Today is the turn of Clearly Besotted. This set is exclusive to Simon Says Stamp and will not be restocked, so if you want one, do grab one while you can!

Unfortunately, the stamp set didn't arrive in time for me to use it, but Clearly Besotted did kindly send over the digital version, so that I could still play along! I don't have the best printer, so I apologise if you see any smeared lines!

I started off by taking three of the images from the Clearly Besotted Skating Around Stamp Set and coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area). I then fussy cut them out using scissors, but there are dies available as part of the bundle.

I then took a panel of white cardstock and drew in ice at the bottom, followed by trees and a sky at the top. These were drawn and coloured using Copic Markers. The panel was added to an A2 white card base with foam tape. I then added in lots of snow using a white gel pen. The sentiment was cut out using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label Die and added to the card with more foam tape, as well as the critters.

Spellbinders | Small Die of the Month Hello & Thank You

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders September 2020 Small Die of the Month Club Kit. This month is called 'Hello & Thank you' and features two beautiful frame dies, plus lots of flowers to add to them, as well as hello and thank you dies. I did not use them for my card today, but I will use them later in the month for another project.

I wanted to keep the frame all white so I cut it twice (to get a full frame you need to cut the die twice and then piece them together for the frame) and then I also cut additional flowers multiple times from white too. I lightly placed the frame dies on to the front of an A2 white card base and drew a faint pencil line where the inside of the frame would be.

I then masked off the edges and blended Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks inside. I used Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves. I removed the tape and then adhered the frame on top using craft glue, followed by the flowers and flower heads.

I then took the sentiment from the Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and foiled it on to white cardstock with Silver foil. It was cut down in to strips using the sentiment strip die from the Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments Series 2 Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and added to the card with foam squares. To finish off, I added a few Spellbinders Silver Fashion Embellishments.

Reverse Confetti | Love To Love You

Hello there, did you see back in August that Reverse Confetti released a special set called You Matter? This wonderful set works well to support causes close to people's hearts right now. Since I am so late in receiving it (since the postal system is rather blocked up at the moment) a lot of the designs that I may have used it for have already been done. I wanted to do something different, so I decided to use the set for a generic love card.

I started off by creating my background. I took a panel of white cardstock and blended Tim Holtz Distress Inks on to the top part of it. I used Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet.

I then took the heart stamp from the Reverse Confetti You Matter Stamp Set and stamped it on to the panel using the same colours of Distress Ink. The panel was then added on to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I took the love die from the Reverse Confetti You Matter Confetti Cuts and die cut it three times from white cardstock. They were adhered one on top of another using liquid glue and adhered to the card.

I took the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Word Up Stamp Set and stamped the accompanying sentiment on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card using foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Raindrops.

Hero Arts September 2020 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome as we celebrate the release of the Hero Arts September 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-ons. This month, there is a wonderful autumn harvest and Halloween feel to it. I went with Halloween projects today, but this kit can definitely be used for more general autumn projects too.

If you are following along in the hop, you should have arrived here from Mariana, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

For my first project, I thought it would be fun to use non-traditional pumpkin colours. I love the colour purple and I always find that purple works well for Halloween cards, so that is what I went with for the pumpkins.

I started off by taking a panel of Dove White Cardstock and stamping the pumpkins from the HeroScape stamp set (in the kit) on top. I used Soft Granite Shadow Ink for the base layer (I had previously tried it in Cup O'Joe ink and so there is some residual brown ink transfer but I think that looks ok), followed by Intens-ified Black Ink for the next most solid layer and then Soft Lilac Shadow Ink for the top layer.

There is another layer (a solid one for the pumpkins) but I liked it with some white space left. Because of the order that I stamped the layers in, the purple shade has gone over the black shade slightly, since the card is a night sky/Halloween card, I think it looks ok but for my second project, I stamped the pumpkin colour first and I think it does work better.

I then cut the smallest of the circle dies from the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies from mask paper and added that in to the sky for the moon. I ink blended the sky using Blue Hawaii, Grape Slush and Thistle Reactive Inks, followed by Intens-ified Black Ink. The moon mask was removed and I blended that with more Thistle Reactive Ink.

I stamped the bats from the Color Layering Moonlit Night Sky Stamp Set using Intens-ified Black Ink and then stamped the sentiment, from the accompanying stamp set in the kit, using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I splattered the panel using White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and adhered it on a top folding A2 card base with foam tape.

For my next project, I thought I would keep the same kind of design but this time use more traditional colours for the pumpkins. This time I used Cup O'Joe Mid-Tone Shadow Ink for the base layer, Creamsicle Reactive Ink for the pumpkins and Intens-ified Black Ink for the outlines/second base layer. Again, I did not use the solid pumpkin layer for this as I like the white highlights.

After stamping, I cut the panel using a Tag Infinity Die. I then blended the sky using Creamsicle Reactive Ink, Just Rust Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and Intens-ified Black Ink. I then sprayed it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Spray Stain, followed by White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. Once dry, I stamped the same bats as on the card, using Intens-ified Black Ink. The sentiment, from the accompanying main kit stamp set, was stamped on to Pitch Black Cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and embossed using Detail White Embossing Powder. It was cut in to strips and added to the tag with foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag.

MFT | Christmas Cheer

Hello there, today is the day! The September 2020 release from My Favorite Things is now available to purchase. They kindly sent me a selection of goodies to play with. I instantly fell in love with the adorable fox from the Christmas Cheer set designed by Stacey Yacula.

I started off by taking a panel of cardstock and cutting it with the largest of the MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Dies. I then placed the MFT Circle Extraordinaire Stencil on top, followed by the MFT Drifts and Hills Stencil. Using a blending brush, I then blended Tim Holtz Wilted Violet Distress Ink through the stencils. I spritzed it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Spray Stain (for some added texture and interest) and then removed the stencils and let the panel dry.

I took the fox from the MFT Christmas Cheer Stamp Set and stamped him on to white cardstock using MFT Extreme Black Ink. I coloured him using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and then die-cut him out using the MFT Christmas Cheer Die-namics. Before adding him on to the panel, I first stamped the sentiment, from the same Christmas Cheer set, below the snowbank scene I created.

The panel was adhered flat to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I wanted the panel to be the size of the card base but the largest of the dies is just slightly smaller than an A2 card, so I trimmed the card base down slightly to fit the die. I then added the fox on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen to the present.

There is the most cutest bunny in the set too, along with a bird, tree and landscape but I thought I would keep it simple for my card today. I will definitely be using this set more soon though! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!

STAMPtember 2020 | Party Time!

Hello there, I am sure you saw yesterday that STAMPtember is upon us! This is a month long celebration over at Simon Says Stamp, filled with lots of fun new sets, collaborations, inspiration and prizes. Today we are celebrating the launch of the new Simon release with a fun party! Each person at the party has a prize for you (mine is below!) so do be sure to visit each blog to see which one you want!

For my card today, I am using the wonderful new Tiny Words Support Stamp Set. Like the other Tiny Words sets in the collection, the set features a plethora of sentiments in a support theme in Simon's signature tiny font. They work perfectly for so many designs.

I started off my card by taking a panel of white cardstock and placing the Simon Says Stamp Leafy Frame Stencil on top (after spraying the back with Pixie Spray) I then blended on Tim Holtz Distress Inks using the Pink & Main Ergonomic Blending Brushes. These give such a beautiful soft blend! I first applied Peacock Feathers, leaving it lighter in the inside, followed by Pine Needles and then on the very outer edges, I used Chipped Sapphire.

I removed the stencil and then blended on a lighter layer of the same colours over the leaves, so that they wouldn't be stark white. I took the Simon Says Stamp Big Friend Dies and die cut the word three times from white cardstock, adding Stick It adhesive sheet on the back. They were layered up and added to the card.

I then took the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Support Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels Dies and added to the card with tape runner. The panel was added to an A2 card base with tape runner and then I added Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins to finish.

PARTY TIME!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Treats Only

Hello there and welcome to release day for the Clearly Besotted September 2020 release. I have one last teaser to share with you this morning (I couldn't resist using this adorable hippo!) before I share  release information and video in a couple of hours. I thought I would create a tag for a treat bag for today's project.

I started off by stamping one of the hippos (there are a few!) from the Clearly Besotted Fall Fun Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured him using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and fussy cut him out with scissors. I then cut three of the scalloped tags from the Clearly Besotted Tag Along Set. I cut two from white cardstock and a third from MFT Black & White Dots Paper Pad.

On one of the white cardstock tags, I further cut a SSS Stitched Circle Die in to it to create a window. The top piece was adhered on to the patterned paper piece and then the solid white tag added to the back to make sure that the back looks good too, in case I wanted to write a message on it. I then stamped the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Treats Please Stamp Set at the bottom in black ink. The hippo was added on top with foam tape.

VIDEO | MFT Layering Stencils

Hello there, I am delighted to have a video up on the MFTv YouTube Channel today. I thought it would be fun to combine stencils to create a masked background scene.

I love the new(er) Extraordinaire Stencils from MFT. They are great for both masking and stencilling and I love that you get both the negative and positive in the set. I first used the MFT Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil and placed this on a panel of cardstock. I then used the MFT Circle Extraordinaire Stencil and placed the circle piece on to the panel to mask off a moon shape.

For the clouds, I used the new MFT Rolling Clouds Stencil, along with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Wilted Violet and Black Soot. The masks were removed and the moon coloured using Copic Markers. I took the images from the MFT Halloween Hoo Stamp Set and stamped them on to white cardstock with MFT Extereme Black Ink. I then coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and cut out using the MFT Halloween Hoo Die-namics.

The panel was adhered flat to an A2 white card base and then branch added with MFT On Point Precision Glue, followed by the owl with foam tape. The sentiment from the MFT Boo Crew Stamp Set was stamped on to black cardstock withy Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip using the MFT Skinny Strips Die-namics and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Bubbles around the sentiment.
