Altenew | A Quick Note

Hello there, it's release day over at Altenew and today, I have a card to share using some new products. I am using the new Cascading Flowers set which is limited edition, once it sells out it is gone, so if you like the look of it, do grab it while you can!

I started off my card by stamping the image from Altenew Cascading Flowers Stamp Set onto a panel of Altenew Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper (the reverse of the paper) using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. I took the Altenew Petal Palette and added dabs of Altenew Artists' Watercolor Tubes on top.

I sprayed a fine mist of water onto the stamped panel and then using the new Altenew Artists' Watercolor Foundation Brush Set, which is a collaboration with Lindsay Weirich The Frugal Crafter, picked up the paint using the size #6 round brush and dropped them onto the panel. I used Quinacridone Magenta for the flower petals, and Dark Cyan and Prussian Blue for the leaves.

For the initial layer, I wanted the paint to blend together, so I sprayed the panel again with water to let the paints move. Once the panel was semi-dry, I then went in and painted the flowers and leaves with more layers (using both the size #6 and #4 round brushes), adding in Primary Yellow for the flower centres. I heat set the paints and then splattered the pink and blue paint on top, using the size #2 round brush, for some added interest, before setting it aside to fully dry.

The panel was adhered to a US A2 sized (4.25" x 5.5") white card base using Altenew Glue Tape. I stamped a sentiment from the Altenew Cascading Flowers Stamp Set onto Altenew Crafty Necessities: Jet Black Cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish, I embellished with Altenew Clear Iridescent Stellar Sequins
