Christmas Robin

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my mum for Christmas. I bought the Concord & 9th Birdhouse Blossoms set back when it was released quite a few months ago with the intention of making some summer cards with it. Well, time ran away with me a lot this year and I didn't manage that, but I am glad I was finally able to use it for a Christmas card.

I started off my card by die cutting the birdhouse from the Concord & 9th Birdhouse Blossoms Die Set from Concord & 9th Wheat Cardstock for the main part and Concord & 9th Nutmeg Cardstock for the roof and base. I placed them inside the Concord & 9th Birdhouse Blossoms Embossing Folder and ran it through my die cutting machine to add the woodgrain texture to them.

I then assembled and adhered it together using Bearly Art Glue. I die cut the bird from white cardstock, Altenew Crafty Necessities: Mocha Cardstock, Spellbinders Poppy ColorWheel Cardstock and Spellbinders Beeswax ColorWheel Cardstock. It was assembled and adhered together using more liquid glue. I die cut the pine branches from Concord & 9th Evergreen Cardstock, the leaves/stems for the flowers from Concord & 9th Parsley Cardstock and the flowers from Spellbinders Poppy ColorWheel Cardstock

The berry stems were cut from Concord & 9th Nutmeg Cardstock and the berries from white cardstock. I adhered the flowers, branches and  berries to the a black A2 sized card base first, using a combination of liquid glue and thin foam tape behind the flowers and berries. The birdhouse was then adhered on top using thin foam tape.

The bird was adhered also using thin foam tape. I cut the heart twice from Spellbinders Poppy ColorWheel Cardstock and adhered it to the house (one on top of another). The sentiment, from Spellbinders Sealed Poinsettia Stems Press Plate, was hot foiled onto white cardstock using Spellbinders Champagne Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with foam tape. To finish, I embellished with Spellbinders Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems

I would usually go with lilac flowers for something like this but it didn't feel very Christmassy, so I went with red! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I will be back after Christmas to share some more cards but until then, if you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, if you don't, I hope you have a wonderful festive season! Take care!
