Altenew | Simply Scientific Release

Hello there, today sees the release of the Altenew Simply Scientific Collection. There is a fun blog hop going on which you can start over on the Altenew Blog. I am not part of that hop, but I still wanted to share some cards with you today using the new release.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

For my first card, I am using the new Dancing Sunflowers set. I stamped one of the images from the Altenew Dancing Sunflowers Stamp Set on to white cardstock using Altenew Permanent Black Ink.

I then placed the Altenew Dancing Sunflowers Layering Stencils on top and one by one added ink blending to colour the image. I used Altenew Golden Sunset Inks for the petals, Altenew Coffee Break Inks for the centre and Altenew Green Meadows Inks for the leaves.

The image was die cut out using the Altenew Dancing Sunflowers Die Set. I die cut two circles from white cardstock for the card base and on one, ran it through my die cutting machine using the Altenew Concentric Circles 3D Embossing Folder. It was then made into a circle card base using the hinge method.

The sunflower image was adhered on top using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I took the sentiment from the Altenew Versatile Greetings Die Set and cut the hugs word three times from black cardstock (with Double Sided Adhesive Sheet on the back) and stacked them one on top of each other. The shadow part of the word was die cut from Altenew Vellum Translucent Paper. It was adhered to the card and then I finished off by embellishing with Raindrops.

My next card uses the new Altenew Daffodil Delight 3D Embossing Folder. This coordinates with the previously released Build-A-Garden: Daffodil Delight set. I ran it through my die cutting machine with a panel of white cardstock.

Using the Altenew Daffodil Delight Layering Stencils, I placed them one by one on to the embossed image and added in blending with Altenew Mini Ink Blending Brushes. I used Altenew Golden Sunset Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cubes (the three lightest). The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Daffodil Delight Stamp Set on to black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish off, I added a few Altenew Essential Black & White Enamel Dots as well as adding a few white gel pen highlights to the daffodils.
