Hero Arts | January 2022 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts January 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit and Add-ons. This month's theme is love and Valentine's but perfect for friendship and encouragement/gratitude projects too. I have two cards to share with you today - one using the main kit and the other with an add-on set. We are celebrating the release with a fun, inspiration filled blog hop with prizes. Please see below for more details.

The Hero Arts January 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit features a beautiful ornate cover plate die. I didn't use it on my card but I did use the color layering stamp set in the kit to create a little scene. The foliage in this set can be used as whatever you like - leaves, flowers etc. I thought I would go with blue flowers for something a little different.

I first stamped the bottom layer of the image with Hero Arts Cornflower Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I then stamped the bottom layer of the branch with Hero Arts Soft Brown Shadow Ink, followed by the top layer in Hero Arts Cup 'O Joe Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. The top layer of the foliage was stamped in Hero Arts Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I cut the image out with the coordinating Frame Cut.

I took a panel of white cardstock and added a light layer of Hero Arts Splash Reactive Ink to the middle with a Hero Arts Ink Blending Brush. I then stamped the swing on top with Cup 'O Joe Ink, followed by the two layers of the foliage. The butterflies were stamped beside the swing with Navy ink. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape and the branch piece popped up with another layer of thin foam tape.

I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock with Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with another layer of thin foam tape.

My next card uses the new Peony Bunch set, which is an add-on this month. There is a coordinating die and also a stencil that can be used to colour the image, or can be used on it's own. I decided to colour mine with markers. I started off by taking the Hero Arts Peony Bunch Stamp Set and stamped it on to white cardstock with Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink

I coloured the image with Copic Markers (B39, B18, B16, B12, G29, YG17, YG23, YG01) and then die cut it out using the Hero Arts Peonies Bunch Frame Cuts. I took an A2 white card base and masked off the edges. Using Ink Blending Brushes, I blended Hero Arts Splash Reactive Ink from the top right hand corner and Hero Arts Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple Reactive Inks from the bottom left hand corner.

I took the sentiment from the set and stamped in the top right hand corner with Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink. The peonies were then added on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Hero Arts Clear Enamel Dots

MY MONTHLY HERO KIT:

Our January release was inspired by a trip to Paris, and the locks left by lovers and dreamers on the bridges there. This month's kit is great to get started on your Valentine's Day projects, but can be used to show friendship and appreciation throughout the year. The focal point is a gorgeous cover plate die, with ornate detail surrounding a keyhole. It can be used alone, or layered over any number of beautiful scenes. To get you started, we included a lovely Color Layering stamp set featuring a rope swing covered in inviting greenery. There are ink cubes which work well with the stamps, and the kit is rounded out with some iridescent red gems.

KIT CONTENTS:

6" x 8" Clear Stamp Set
3 Coordinating Frame Cuts
4.25" x 5.5" Fancy Cover Plate Die
1 Key Fancy Die
4 Ink Cubes (Key Lime Fizz, Taffy, Green Apple, Cup O’ Joe)
Red Iridescent Gems

The kit is valued at $80 but you can get it for only $34.99 (approx. £28 without taxes and shipping). The kits are limited edition and often sell out quickly. You can subscribe here so that you never miss a kit. International subscribers get a discount off shipping too! Kits begin shipping14th January 2022.

ADD-ONS:

There are lots of add-on products released each month. These are products that can work alongside the main kit or be used on their own.
