Altenew | Rustic Charm Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today sees the release of the Altenew Rustic Charm Release. There are lots of new products releasing today - stamps, dies, embossing folders, washi tape, DIY brush marker and a mister bottle. We are celebrating the release with a fun blog hop full of inspiration and prizes, more on that below.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

My first card uses the beautiful new Floral Halos set. This is so pretty and can be used in lots of different ways. I started off by stamping the flowers from the Altenew Floral Halos Stamp Set on to white cardstock with black ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers and then die cut them using the Altenew Floral Halos Die Set

I took a white A2 card base and stamped one of the circle elements from the stamp set on to the top middle. I added some of the floral pieces flat with Altenew 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen on top and then the main piece with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape

I took the sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Jewels.

My next card uses the new Layered Snowflakes embossing folder and a few of the new tools. I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and blending a light layer of Dew Drops and Aqualicious Ink from the Altenew Sweet Dreams Crisp Dye Inks Set on top. I then ran it through my die cutting machine with the Altenew Layered Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder

Using the new Altenew Fine Mister - Perfect Craftroom Companion, I spritzed the piece with water. This gave a lovely mottled texture to the cardstock. Once the panel was dry, I re-ran it through my die cutting machine with the embossing folder to bring the embossing out even more.

Using the new Altenew DIY Watercolor Brush Marker, I added shimmer to the snowflakes with the Altenew Iridescent Shimmer Spray

This is almost impossible to see in the photos sadly and is still subtle in real-life but does add that extra shimmer and sparkle to the card.

I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I took the sentiments from the Altenew Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set and stamped them on to white cardstock with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. They were cut in to strips and added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Bubbles to the centres of the snowflakes.

  9. Both the cards are so beautiful. Of course I love the floral card with the halo effect as it makes a fabulous focal point and of course your colouring is amazing on the flowers and leaves! That snowflake embossing folder though - I may have to buy that! I love the layered look you get with it and the colours are stunning. I'm adding it to my wish list! I can't resist anything snowflake :-) xx

  13. Great ideas here. I understand the shimmer spray idea, and know that it will really pop IRL. I especially like the extra step of embossing again, and so I'll try that. I have the Sweet Dreams ink combo but didn't think to try it with the snowflakes, thank you! Love love the fountain pen in the photo styling - I'm a fan of Japanese fountain pens and their colored inks.
