MFT Sketch Challenge | Birthday Blooms

Hello there, I am delighted to be Guest Designing with My Favorite Things this month for their Sketch Challenge. We are on Sketch 466 and I think this sketch is fabulous! It works with so many different images but I thought it would be fun to use the Fresh-Cut Flowers Background on my card today.

I started off by stamping the MFT Fresh-Cut Flowers Background stamp on to a panel of MFT Smooth White Cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. I then blended on Distress Inks in Broken China, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry. The panel was spritzed with Sparkle Shimmer Spritz and set aside to dry.

Once dry, the panel was cut down to represent the sketch. So that the image would not be distorted when added to the card base, I cut thin strips out of the image for the gaps. The gaps are not as big as in the sketch but hopefully it still works! The panels were adhered to a white A2 card base with foam tape.

I took the sentiment from the MFT Bitty Bears Stamp Set and stamped it on to MFT Black Licorice Prestige Cardstock with Versamrk Ink. I applied more white detail embossing powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip using the MFT Skinny Strips Dies and added to the card with thin foam squares. To finish off, I added Sparkling Crystals using MFT On-Point Precision Glue.

Although I love colouring, it was really nice to use the floral image for ink blending instead. I love those colours together too! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a great rest of the day!
