Birthday Lego

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my nephew for his birthday. He absolutely loves Lego so it made sense for me to try and make him a Lego themed card.

I started cutting some squares and rectangles from Doodlebug cardstock (sadly this seems to have been discontinued now). I also then die cut multiple circles using one of the smaller dies from the Hero Arts Circle Nesting die set. I added Distress Ink around the edges of the shapes and then glued them together to look like Lego blocks. These were added to a 5.5"x5.5" card base.

I then took the six from the PTI By The Numbers die set and cut this three times from white cardstock and layered them up. I also die cut a star from vellum using a Nestabilities die. I added the six on to the star and then added the piece to the card base. To finish off, I added a few Doodlebug Matte Sprinkles.

This was such a fun card to make although I wish I had more than one of those circle dies ;) Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a great day!

  12. I love this Michelle! I actually thought you had some kind of "lego" die to create this, but what a simple solution to making the perfect lego! The proportions are spot on. It's so bright and cheerful, I am sure he will love it!

  14. Awww Michelle this is a stomping great card!!! Oh and did you kno they have brought out a Lego Advent Calendar which is based on different themes! Amazing! I nearly bought one for myself! Lol!! You get them in the Lego store and each day instead of a piddly piece of chocolate you get to build a wee mini Lego scene, vehicle or person! Pretty cool! ;)

    Big hugs
    Roni :D xox
