You Win Some, You Lose Some

You may wonder what the title of this post means, well here are some cards that I don't like that I have made. I do not know why I don't like them, there is just something about them that I am not happy with. They are both using Clearly Besotted Stamps which I love but I just don't like the design on the card .... I think? ... I don't know!! Anyway i thought I would share them anyway.

The first card uses the Twinkle Toes set along with the sentiment. I have stamped the ballerina using Versamark and then used SU! Heat & Stick with Dazzle Diamonds - first time I have used this technique. The sparkle looks much better in real life!

SUPPLIES USED:

The second card uses Versamark to stamp the flower image from the Blooming Marvellous set and then I have gone over with clear embossing powder. The sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes set has been stamped on vellum and wrapped around the panel.

Thanks for visiting me today, do you ever have the same problem? You don't like the card you have made but not sure why? I would love to hear your comments.

  3. I think you're being for too critical Michelle! I think both cards are fantastic - the originality of both is what I admire in particular :) Big thumbs up from me! xxx

  12. Hey Michelle, I love all your cards, but I thought if Michelle says there's something wrong with them then maybe I can find out what's wrong and try and help!

So I looked them over, nup, couldn't see anything wrong! So I stared at them then I stared some more and the only little tweaks I could come up with, now they are teeny tweaks is :

    1. The top one, the ballerina might be too flat?? She's a dancer, she should be pirouetting across the card so maybe cut out and mount the ballerina onto 3D foam pads for some dimension?

    2. I agree with Alex a dainty butterfly, die cut in white to tie everything together a little better??

Don't kno if it will, but I hope that helps, but to be honest your cards are lovely leaving them as they are!!

    Big hugs
    Roni :D xox

  13. I love both cards, in particular the second one which I wouldn't change at all.
This isn't a criticism at all, but I wonder if you don't like the first one because the edges of the ballerina are quite "soft"? Your cards are normally crisp & clean, she doesn't stand out as much as your images normally do. I still think it's lovely, though:-)
