You Win Some, You Lose Some

You may wonder what the title of this post means, well here are some cards that I don't like that I have made. I do not know why I don't like them, there is just something about them that I am not happy with. They are both using Clearly Besotted Stamps which I love but I just don't like the design on the card .... I think? ... I don't know!! Anyway i thought I would share them anyway.
The first card uses the Twinkle Toes set along with the sentiment. I have stamped the ballerina using Versamark and then used SU! Heat & Stick with Dazzle Diamonds - first time I have used this technique. The sparkle looks much better in real life!

The second card uses Versamark to stamp the flower image from the Blooming Marvellous set and then I have gone over with clear embossing powder. The sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes set has been stamped on vellum and wrapped around the panel.

Thanks for visiting me today, do you ever have the same problem? You don't like the card you have made but not sure why? I would love to hear your comments.

  1. I think your cards are beautiful. I love the Kraft. and yes, a ton of my cards Im thinking, how did this end up like this? I definitely lose more than I win, that is for shee.

  2. I love them both Michelle they are gorgeous.Caroline xxx

  3. I think you're being for too critical Michelle! I think both cards are fantastic - the originality of both is what I admire in particular :) Big thumbs up from me! xxx

  4. Yes, sometimes I have that very same problem, but you really don't have to worry about these two designs...they both look great!

  5. Hi Michelle
    Two fabulous card.....
    Hugs sylvie xxx

  6. I love love the bottom one, if you are not happy with it, what about adding a butterfly on one of the flowers maybe??? I love it just the way it is personally lol xx

  7. I know the feeling, but I spend the next 4 hours tweeking until it looks ok!!! I really like the second card, think I may CASE it!

  8. Both the techniques are fab and the design are great too.......

  9. I think they are gorgeous...we are our own worst critic when it comes to our own work...lol...you are amazing and have a fabulous style....have you have a fabby weekend!

    enjoy *~*

  10. Oh yes, I often feel like that about my cards!

These are both lovely though. I really LOVE the second one, looks absolutely gorgeous to me :o) Hugs, Lisa x

  11. Well, I have to agree with everyone else - these are gorgeous. The designs are stylish and I love the soft colours.
I hope enjoy the rest of the weekend

  12. Hey Michelle, I love all your cards, but I thought if Michelle says there's something wrong with them then maybe I can find out what's wrong and try and help!

So I looked them over, nup, couldn't see anything wrong! So I stared at them then I stared some more and the only little tweaks I could come up with, now they are teeny tweaks is :

    1. The top one, the ballerina might be too flat?? She's a dancer, she should be pirouetting across the card so maybe cut out and mount the ballerina onto 3D foam pads for some dimension?

    2. I agree with Alex a dainty butterfly, die cut in white to tie everything together a little better??

Don't kno if it will, but I hope that helps, but to be honest your cards are lovely leaving them as they are!!

    Big hugs
    Roni :D xox

  13. I love both cards, in particular the second one which I wouldn't change at all.
This isn't a criticism at all, but I wonder if you don't like the first one because the edges of the ballerina are quite "soft"? Your cards are normally crisp & clean, she doesn't stand out as much as your images normally do. I still think it's lovely, though:-)

  14. love them both Michelle!! stunning xx
