Birthday Magnolias

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for my friend Lisa for her Birthday. I know that the Clearly Besotted Make A Wish stamp set is one of her favourites so of course, I had to use it for her card. Since she likes alcohol inks as well, I thought I would combine them both.

I started off by creating the alcohol inked background. I took a piece of Yupo paper and first added on drops of Cool Peri. I used the spritzer tool to move the ink around. I then came in with Raspberry and Purple Twilight. To finish off, I also added in a little Eggplant in areas. I continued spritzing the piece with air as I went, adding in some blending solution in places too, until I was happy. I then set the piece aside to dry.

I took the magnolia image from the Make A Wish set and placed this in my Mini MISTI. I added a very generous coating of anti-static powder over the alcohol inked background and then stamped the image using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I made sure to heat up my heat tool until it was very hot before brining it to the Yupo paper. I then heated it in short bursts. Once the powder was melted I placed the piece inside a piece of printer paper and placed this under some heavy books for a few hours. This stopped any warping of the Yupo paper.

I adhered the Yupo piece to an A2 white card base with tape runner. I then took a white panel of cardstock and cut a window in to it using one of the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies. I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the card. I took the 'happy birthday' sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Tiny Type set and stamped this with black ink on to white cardstock. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added three Sparkling Clear sequins.

Hero Arts March 2018 MMH | Hugs

Hello there, I am over on the Hero Arts Blog today sharing a card made using the Hero Arts March 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit that will be released on Monday, 5th March. We are sharing peeks today and over the weekend using the kit, along with some of the optional extras. My card today uses just the main kit elements, along with the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.

Using the heart dies, I made a mask and blended Distress Oxide inks inside. I used Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers and then stamped the flower image from the kit on top with Unicorn Ink (also in the kit). The hugs word die is one of my favourites from the kit, and I just had to use the new Iridescent White Shimmer Spray (an optional add-on) on it for some added sparkle. Please head over to the blog post for more details on how I made the card and for a chance to win a kit. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Ahoy There Matey

Hello there and welcome to day four of the March Clearly Besotted teasers. The new products release tomorrow at 8pm GMT and you do still have a few hours to enter my giveaway from day one, which you can find here. For my card today, I am using the new adorable Pirates At Play stamp set. This is one of the larger sets and it is so cute!

I started off by stamping one of the girl pirates on to a panel of cardstock that has been die cut with one of the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies. I then stamped the sentiment from the set below. The 'ahoy there' and 'matey' are two separate stamps but I stamped them together to create one sentiment.

The image was then simply coloured using Copic Markers. I coloured the background first, adding in dots for the sand, waves for the sea and then blended blues for the sky. The pirate girl and her flag were then coloured after. All of the colours I used are listed below the supplies section. The panel was then simply adhered to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Magical Birthday

Hello there and welcome to day three of the March Clearly Besotted teasers. Not long to wait now, all the new products will be released on Thursday. My card today uses the new Fairy Tale Fairy and she is so pretty! I love her!

I started off by stamping her on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured her using Copic Markers. The colours I used are listed below the supplies section. I fussy cut her out with scissors but there will be dies available to purchase.

I took a panel of white cardstock and die cut this using one of the Creative Dies Plus Stitched & Pierced Nesting Squares Dies. I took the sentiment from the already released Fairy Tale Mermaid set and stamped this in the bottom right of the panel. I then took the star stencil from the Hero Arts Sky Stencil Pair and placed this over the panel. Using a palette knife, I applied Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Dawn Sparkle Texture Paste to some of the stars and dots. I removed the stencil (and washed it) and then set the panel aside to dry.

Once dry, I adhered the panel to a 4.75" 4.75" card base made from SSS Lavender cardstock. I then added the fairy on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added Aqua Shimmer pen to her wings. Sadly, the photos do not show all the sparkle but it is really pretty in real life.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Spring Daffodils

Hello there and welcome to day two of the March Clearly Besotted teasers. The new products will be in the shop on the 1st March. Today I am sharing a look at another one of the smaller sets. This one is Spring Daffodils and it is so pretty! Just looking at it puts me in the spring mood!

I started off by stamping the daffodils on to an A2 white card base with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then coloured them, as well as the blue background, using Copic Markers. The colours I used are listed below the supplies section. To give the background some texture, I went in with a Colourless Blender and took some of the colour away. This gives a similar look to water splatter on Distress Inks, although difficult to see in the photos, sorry.

I cut two panels of white cardstock and ran these through my die cutting machine using one of the borders from the Mama Elephant Fine Trimmings Die Set (these just cut out the circles, not the actual border itself). These were added to the card base with foam tape. I took the 'happy birthday' sentiment from the Tiny Type set and stamped this on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a thin strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Ice Cube Jewels around the sentiment.

COPIC MARKERS: Daffodils - Y38, Y35, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y00, Y000, Y0000. Stems - G46, G34, YG03. Background - B00, B000, B0000, 0.

Because I coloured directly on the card base, I will add another piece of white cardstock in to the front inside panel of the card base to cover the bleed through. Thank you so much for visiting me today. Please check out what my teamies Stephanie, Keren and Lisa have been up to. As well as Guest Designer Rubeena. Have a great day. See you tomorrow!

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Fairy Tale Unicorns + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome to start of the March teasers for Clearly Besotted! Yes, you have read that correctly :) The Design Team are back to share teasers with you moving forward for the again monthly releases. The releases will continue to be on the 1st of the month, at the new time of 8pm GMT and the teasers will start four days before that (so they will be starting at different dates, depending on the month).

I thought I would kick things off and start off with the Fairy Tale Unicorns set because it is just too cute! It is one of the smaller sets and absolutely adorable! I started off by stamping two of the unicorns, plus the rainbow, on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them using Copic Markers. I fussy cut them out with scissors but there will be coordinating dies available :)

I took a panel of white cardstock and cut the MFT Stitched Triple Peekaboo Window on to it. I then stamped the sentiment from the new Sweetest Sentiments set below. I took an A2 white card base and added MFT Black & White Stripes Paper to the front. Taking a piece of Bristol cardstock, I used the MFT Mini Cloud Stencil with Broken China Distress Ink to create some clouds on the panel. This piece was added to the card base with tape runner. The window piece was then added on top with foam tape.

The unicorns and rainbow were added to the card with foam tape. I added Aqua Shimmer pen to the unicorns manes and tails, as well as the rainbow. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Jewels.

VIDEO | Card Making Haul - February 2018

Hello there, today I am popping in to share what I purchased in February with you. I do not think I did too badly this month :) Of course, there were a few new sets that I just had to get.

I also picked up a couple of older items that I had seen other people use and was enabled. I saw Erica use the MFT Roses All Over Background Stamp and thought it was beautiful. Likewise, I saw Lisa using the Studio Katia Blooming Bunch set and thought it was stunning. I love colouring florals so I am excited to use both of these sets. Here is a look at everything I got:

Long Time No Tea

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the new Mouse Tea Party Stamp Set from Hero Arts. I think it was one of the most popular sets when it was released last week and I can see why. It is absolutely adorable!

I started off by die cutting a panel of white cardstock using one of the new Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies. I took one of the mice from the set and stamped this on to the top middle of the panel, followed by the sentiment below. I die cut the coordinating frame cut from mask paper and placed this over the mouse image. I also masked off below the mouse. I took some Peacock Feather Distress Oxide Ink and blended this lightly around the image. I did flick on a little water and dabbed off the excess.

The masks were removed and the mouse coloured using Copic Markers. I added Aqua Shimmer to the tea cup. The panel was then simply adhered to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST.

COPIC MARKERS: Mouse - N5, N3, N2, N1, N0, R12, R00, R0000. Tea cup - BG13, BG11, BG10.

Isn't that mouse just absolutely adorable? The other mice in the set are just as cute! Thank you so much for visiting me today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a lovely day.
