Sketch n Stash 80 + DTDF

This fornight at Sketch N Stash we have a great challenge for you, it is 'free sketch' that means you can make a card using any sketch you wish from the SNS catalogue. I have chosen sketch 42:

For my card I have used some of the gorgeous new goodies available at DTDF. I have first taken the CC Designs Hogs and Kisses and stamped him out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to white CS; cut out with a Square Nestabilities and coloured with Copic Markers adding glitter to parts with my Spica Clear pen. I have then mounted this to DB Posie Pink CS and added this to the base with 3D adhesive squares. The base is a sheet of paper from the Echo Park Yours Truly 6x6 Paper Pad {new stash} mounted with more Posie Pink CS and then a strip of DB Beetle Black CS running accross the middle. I have added DB Velvet Brads {old stash} to either end of the strip. The greeting (from the same set) has been mounted and adhered 3D also. The whole thing has then been added to a white card blank and DB Mini Jewels added to finish.

LIM - Sketch 4

Here is my entry for the Less Is More challenge this week which is a sketch. It needs to be used exactly as it is, although that's not too bad for me as I tend to use sketches as they are anyway. I have made two cards as I liked the first one so much I thought I'd try it as a OLC as well. So for the first one I have taken a strip of white CS and stamped it with a butterfly from the PTI Butterfly Dreams set using Memento Lulu Lavender and Grape Jelly inks. I have then mounted this to PTI Plum Pudding CS and added this strip to the card blank. I have stamped the greeting {also from the Butterfly Dreams set} in black ink. Rhinestones added to finish. The second card uses the same inks and stamps but without the CS strip.

Gorjuss Little Heart - DTDF

Today I have a card to share with you which is made from some of the lovely products available at Dies to Die for. I have started off by making a circle card; I have taken a square card blank and cut it out using a Nestabilities Scallop Circle making sure that the top doesn't get cut so it can still open as a card. I have then cut papers from the First Edition Dreamcatcher 6x6 Paper Pad using a Nestabilities Circle and then added a bordrer using the MFT Die-Namics Wonky Scallop Border cut from white. This has all then been wrapped with Divine Twine in Brown Sugar and tied in a bow at the front. The whole thing has then been adhered to the scallop circle card with my ATG. I have then stamped the cut Gorjuss Girl Little Heart stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured with Copics Markers before cutting out. She has been adhered to the card with 3D foam pads. I have then made the greeting using the MFT Banner Day Alphabet Set {I love this font} on to white CS and then cut out and added with 3D foam also. Three pearls added to finish.

LIM - Cut It Out

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around the last week. I have had a bug that has completely wiped me out, I am over the worst but still not back to 'normal'. Anyway, I really wanted to enter this week's Less Is More challenge of Cut It Out so here I am with a quick card inspired by Nichole Heady. I have taken a white card blank and cut a circle in the middle with a Nestabilities die and added DB Pistacchio CS to the back of the inside of the card. I have then cut a PTI Wonderful Word Die from DB Swimming Pool CS and adhered the 'h' and the 'y' to the front of the card. I have stamped the 'birthday' sentiment from the PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments Set on to vellum and adhered to the front of the card. Martha Stewart Monarch and 3 in 1 butterflies punched from DB Dragonfly and Pistacchio CS added to the front and finished off with rhinestones.

Clean & Simple Card Class

I am taking part in the online Clean & Simple Card Class and the first day was about clean anad simple sketches. Here is my take on the sketch with two little cards. For the first one I have taken a white card blank and cut it to 4"x4". I have then cut a small panel to add to the middle and stamped the greeting {from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phases Set} in the bottom right corner and then added punched out butterflies above with teeny rhiinestones in the centre. The panel has been added to the card with 3D foam pads. For the second card {my fave I think} I have done the same but die cut hearts {from the PTI Love Lives Here Die Set} and added these with 3D foam pads also.

Sketch N Stash 79

Hi there, this fortnight over at Sketch N Stash we have a great sketch for you designed by the super talented Julie ...

For my card I have first stamped the cute Penny Black 'Don't Break It' stamp {old stash} on to white CS and then coloured with Copics, cut out and added to the base with 3D adhesive squares. The base is sheets from the MME Love Me 6x6 paper pad {new stash} layered up; ther circle one cut using a Nestabilities die. I have then stamped the greeting - from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame It Set on to the paper and punched out using a SU! oval punch. Finished off with pink rhinestones.

LIM - One Layer Birds

This week's challenge over at Less Is More is Birds and it's a one layer week too. Funny how a while ago I found OLCs a challenge and now I like them a lot! So for my card this week I have used the very cute High Hopes Wingin' It Duck and stamped him on to a white square card blank then coloured with Copic Markers. I have stamped the sentiment - from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler Set at the top and then added three rhinestones underneath.

How I Store ... My PTI Stamps

Here is a quick video showing how I store my clear Papertrey Ink stamps. I have then in the Unmounted Stamp Storage Binders by Tim Holtz. I take two sheets of acetate and on one I cut out the index sheets that come with the stamps and add them to it and the clear stamps on the back, the other I add to the back like a sandwich. I then have cut a piece of white cardstock to add behind and then it all fits in the binder punches. I have made page dividers by adding an MFT Tab File die cut on to a white piece of CS and adding what type of stamps are in each section.

Hope this might give some of you some ideas. Apologies I haven't been around this week. I have been quite busy at work. Apologies also for my ugly red, swollen hands in the video. I have been having some allergy problems in the last week.

LIM - Predominantly Purple

Hello there, I thought I'd participate in the current Less Is More challenge this week. Due to illness I have missed the last few weeks which I have hated since it's one of my fave challenges. Anyway, this week's theme is Predominantly Puple ... right up my street! So I have taken a white card blank and stamped the stems from the PTI Daydreamer set in SU! Certainly Celery ink and then added the flower heads from the PTI Flower Fusion 8 set in VersaMagic Spring Pansy ink. The sentiment is from the PTI Peaceful Garden set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I have then punched notches in the side of the card and wrapped WRMK Lilac Breeze Floss around and tied in a bow at the front.

2012 ... A New Year

I didn't have the best 2011. It saw me get ill, lose my grandad, break up with my boyfriend, put on weight, dislike my job, make me stressed, postpone my degree and get frustrated with making cards.

However 2012 is going to see me try to get my health better as much as possible by reducing my working hours and working in a new department. I will have more time to go to the gym so hopefully will get fitter and lose weight which will no doubt help with my health. I will be handing in my dissertation in April therefore hopefully passing it and getting my degree. I also plan on finishing my craft room organisation so I can use what I have got more.

I hope that 2012 is a great year for all.

I want it to be a happy and healthy one filled with love and smiles.

Sketch N Stash 78 - My Sketch

Hi all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! For my first post of 2012, It's time for another Sketch N Stash challenge. This fortnight the sketch is designed by little 'ole me ...

I hope you like it! For my card I have used Heather Ellis' Mouse In The House no14 image, printed it from PC and coloured with Copic Markers. I have then cut the image with a circle Nestabilities die and added to the base with 3D adhesive squares. The base is made from DB Swimming Pool Swiss Dots paper {old stash} mounted to DB Swiming Pool CS and then to a white card blank. I have then cut a PTi Double Ended Banner Die from DB Pistachio CS and stamped with the Elzybells greeting. This has been added to the circle with my ATG. I have then threaded a DB Lily White Boutique Button with MME Lime Twist Twine and added this to the side. Finsihed off with DB Mini Jewels.
