VIDEO | Mastering the Art of Monochrome

Hello there, today I have a card to share where I am trying to master the art of monochrome. I often keep to a minimal colour palette when creating anyway, but it was really nice to challenge myself to keep to just one colour but add in multiple shades of that colour with ink blending and alcohol marker colouring.

I started off my card by stamping the image from the Altenew Charming Flowers Stamp Set onto Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then die cut out using the Altenew Charming Flowers Die Set

I added simple colouring to the image using Altenew Cottage Garden Artist Alcohol Marker Set N using just C027 Dusty Pink in the shadows and blended out with Y803 Strawberry to blend with the colour of the cardstock. I die cut another of the flower die from the same cardstock and adhered it to the back of the stamped one for stability.

I die cut two tags from Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock using the Altenew Terrific Tags Die Set. I added ink blending to one using Altenew Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Inks (Dusty Pink & Blush Rose) using an Altenew Mini Blending Brush. The other tag was adhered behind and Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord threaded through the top and tied in a bow.

I took a panel of Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock and splattered it with Altenew Titanium White Artists' Gouache mixed with a little water. Once dry, it was adhered to a white US A2 sized card base with Glue Tape. The tag was then adhered on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape, followed by the flower image on top.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew Charming Flowers Stamp Set onto the same Sandy Blush Cardstock and die cut it into a strip. It was adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish, I embellished with Altenew Peony Gold Stellar Sequins

I really love how this card came out. I wouldn't usually go for this colour, a sandy blush colour, but I really like how it turned out! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!
