I have two cards to share with you today. Both the same design but a different colour way. I also added dimension on one and not the other. Just to see what I liked more! Both my cards feature elements from the Classic Kit only.
I started off the purple card by die cutting the tree Fancy Dies from the kit and die cutting it from three shades of purple cardstock - Passion Flower, Amethyst and Iris. I then die cut a Nesting Circle Infinity Die using Canary Cardstock.
I took a panel of white cardstock and adhered the sun/moon first, using Precision Glue. I then added the layers of the trees, one by one, with thin foam tape. I tried to offset them a little and then cut off the excess from the sides. The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with more thin foam tape - there is A LOT of dimension on this card!
For the blue one, I die cut the sun/moon from Canary Cardstock and adhered that on to a panel of white cardstock. I then die cut the same tree Fancy Die three times from shades of blue cardstock - Periwinkle, Lapis and Nautical. The layers were adhered to the panel flat using Precision Glue. The panel was then adhered to the card with thin foam tape.
For both cards, I stamped a sentiment from the kit stamp set on to Pitch Black Cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. They were cut into strips and adhered to the cards with more thin foam tape.

What beautiful cards! I love both color combinations - but the blue one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards, Michelle. When I saw the cards on the HA blog, I actually thought they were layering dies. Love how you have offset the die cuts to achieve the layered look.
ReplyDeleteBoth designs are striking, Michelle! I love the non-traditional colors used for the tree die. Looking forward to the full release on Monday!
ReplyDeleteI do love the blue version but agree the purple has that nice dimension. Love the trees!
ReplyDeleteI love your cards. I think the one with dimension is my favourite and I am not sure if it is because of the dimension or the colours which I really love. Can't wait to see the rest of this kit!
ReplyDeleteI love these trees and that we can make them whatever colour we like
ReplyDeleteGreat colors. It's a nice change from the "usual". Thanks for the sneak peak.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful and stunning! I really like the design of these fancy dies as they work for masculine cards as well as for Christmas. I can't wait to see the whole kit!
ReplyDeleteLove them both but the blue one is my favorite! Can't wait for my kit to arrive!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose! I am intrigued by this sneak peek! I love all things trees!
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of these, and you can do them in any color to change the "feel".
ReplyDeleteI like them both! The blue is great, but I also love the dimension on the purple too!
ReplyDeleteOOh! I am going to love the tree line die cuts. Looking forward to seeing more inspirtion.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene, so calm and serene . . . I want to walk into those trees.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the new kit! Love your purple trees.
ReplyDeleteI love the tree fancy dies and the colored cardstock.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are stunning. I think I agree with you. I like the blue one best.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE these cards! I can't wait to get my kit. I usually go for the purples, but something about the blue one makes it look more real. That one is my favorite. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great! I love the color palettes.
ReplyDeleteLoved the layered trees. Can’t wait to use this due!
ReplyDeleteCan't pick a favourite, they are both gorgeous Michelle. The purples are so pretty, but the blues just so soothing xx
ReplyDeleteI love this! The blue is my favourite too.
ReplyDeleteLove these cards!!! They are so simple and so stunning. I'd like to hang them on my wall.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the one with the levels in the trees instead of just the panel. Great way to show two different ways but get two great cards out of them. Also depending if you handing it over to someone vs sending in the mail, might depend on the choice you make.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely, but I'm with you - I prefer the blue trees and the dimension of the purple trees! Off setting the trees was a great design idea as it gives the cards more depth.
ReplyDeleteI love both these cards! I'm looking forward to getting this month's kit!
