VIDEO | MFT Pearl of a Friend

Hello there, I am delighted to be over on the MFT YouTube Channel today sharing an underwater scene card using the June 2023 release, which was out yesterday.

I started off the card by stamping the mermaid, octopus and seaweed from the MFT Mermaid for Each Other Stamp Set on to white cardstock using MFT Extreme Black Ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area for reference) and then die cut them out using the MFT Mermaid for Each Other Die-namics

I took a piece of paper from the MFT Sand, Surf & Sky Paper Pad and die cut it using one of the MFT Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-namics. I blended Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink around the outside edges to add a little depth to it. The seaweed was adhered to the bottom of the panel and excess cut off with scissors.

The panel was adhered on to another die cut hexagon cut from white cardstock before adhering to a US A2 sized acetate card base. I die cut another three hexagons to add to the middle and back of the card to hide the adhesive. The mermaid and octopus were adhered on top using thin foam tape.

The sentiment from the MFT Mermaid for Each Other Stamp Set was stamped on to MFT Black Licorice Cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with more thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Bubbles

  1. This is really pretty and so adorable Michelle and I love that it's an acetate card. I also think the hexagon shape works perfectly for your little ocean theme. Great video as always.
