Hero Arts | My Monthly Hero November 2022 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome to the Hero Arts November 2022 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. Both the kit and add-ons are now in store available to purchase. The release this month is all about ornament/tag building and is so fun! Perfect for making tags and cards but can be used in lots of different ways!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

Today I have a tag and card to share with you using the main kit, as well as a card using a few of the add-on products. more information on the kit and the hop below.

My first two projects use the main Hero Arts November 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit. I already shared a tag using the kit, which you can see here. I love creating tags, but I wanted to show that you can easily use these dies for cards too.

I started off the card by die cutting the branches first from Cup O' Joe and Woodland Cardstock. I then cut the poinsettias (they could be any flower, I think!) from Cherry and Cranberry Cardstock. The foliage was cut from Meadow and Pine Cardstock, and the pinecones from Cup O' Joe.

I took a US A2 white card base and adhered the branch/wreath pieces first with Precision Glue. I then adhered the foliage pieces and pinecones, using the flowers as a guide of where to place them. The flowers were adhered on top with thin foam tape. I added some little dots of glue to the pinecones and then sprinkled on Iridescent Earthsafe Glitter for some added sparkle and frostiness.

I took the sentiment from the kit stamp set and stamped it on to Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strips and added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few gold gems.

For the tag, I started off by die cutting the tag base layer from Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. I also die cut the snowbank as well. On the main tag, I blended on Core Inks in Dusty Blue, Stone Wash and Nautical for the sky.

I then die cut the trees using Meadow and Pine Cardstock and the deer from Cup O' Joe and Woodland Cardstock. All of the elements were then splattered with white paint for snow and set aside to dry. I took the sentiment from the Holiday Foliage Messages Stamp Set (an add-on set) and stamped it on to Pitch Black Cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink

I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then cut into a strip. Once the tag was dry, I adhered the snowbank using Precision Glue, popping some of the trees behind. I then adhered the larger tree on top. The deer were popped up with multiple layers (I think 5) of the die cuts. The sentiment was added with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added thread through the top of the tag and tied in a bow.

My next card uses a few of the add-on sets. I started off by taking a panel of Amethyst Cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Ornament Grid Stencil (to add a little dry embossing and give it some added interest). Keeping the stencil. in place, I added ink blending using a Large Ink Blending Brush and Amethyst, Grape Juice and Pitch Black Core Inks.

I removed the stencil and added more ink blending, focusing most of the darkest colour around the edges. It was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with thin foam tape. I die cut the Tree & Stocking Tag Fancy Dies from Vellum Layering Paper and cut the tag part off the top. I then stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Foliage Message Stamp Set on to Amethyst Cardstock.

After heat embossing in white, I ran the excess ink from the brushes on to the cardstock to darken it up slightly. I then removed the excess ink off of the embossing powder with a dry cloth. It was cut in to two strips and added to the tree with thin foam tape. I then adhered a few iridescent bubble embellishments before adhering it to the card, hiding the glue behind the sentiments and embellishments.
