Altenew | Trailblazing Inks November 2022 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today for the release of the new Fresh Dye Inks. These high viscosity dye inks (slightly different formula than the current dye inks) are rich and vibrant in colour and three colour collections are releasing today. The new full size inks pads (sold separately or as a bundle) are round in shape and open and close easily. There are also smaller ink cubes which come in sets of four shades.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I wanted to show how well these ink pads work for both ink blending and stamping, so I have two projects to share using both techniques. The first one shows ink blending. I started off by die cutting the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Cape Margeurite Layering Die Set from white cardstock.

Using Altenew Small Ink Blending Tools and Altenew Mini Ink Blending Brushes, I blended ink on top. I used the new Altenew Blue Mountains Fresh Dye Inks (all four shades) for the flower petals and Altenew Frosted Foliage Fresh Dye Inks (all four shades) for the leaves. These both have beautiful, muted shades to them. They were then assembled and adhered using Altenew 2 in 1 Precsion Glue Pen

I took a panel of white cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine inside the Altenew Diamond Stars Embossing Folder. It was adhered to a US A2 sized white cards base with thin foam tape. I then added the leaves on top, followed by the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Strawberry Stamp Set on to black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder on top and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish off, I added a few crystal sprinkles.

For my second project, I thought I would create a tag using the inks to stamp. I first stamped the outline of the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Golden Days Stamp Set on to white cardstock using Altenew Permanent Black Ink

I then stamped the layers using the new Altenew Woodland Escape Fresh Dye Inks (all four shades) for the petals and Altenew Frosted Foliage Fresh Dye Inks (three lightest) for the leaves. They were die cut out using the Altenew Golden Days Die Set

I die cut an Altenew Terrific Tag Die from white cardstock and adhered the leaves on top with Altenew 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen. The flower was adhered with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Build-A-Garden: Daffodil Delight stamp set on to black cardstock and heat embossed in white. It was cut into a strip and added to the tag.

To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow, as well as adding a few Sprinkles embellishments.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comment! To be honest with you, it is difficult for me to compare the older inks with the newer ones in terms of coverage because I only have cubes in the older style (which I think give worse coverage than the full-size ink pads) and the full-size ones in the new style. I would really need to have both styles in either cubes or full-size for me to do a proper comparison. I will say, however, that I did get really nice coverage with these ones and did not have to stamp multiple times, whereas I usually do witht he older cube ones. I hope that helps a little!

    1. Hi Jayne, thank you so much for your kind comment. I do like the glue pen. I will be honest, it is not my favourite glue, I prefer traditional liquid glue (Bearly Art Glue is my favourite), but the Altenew one is helpful as you can leave it to try for a little while and it becomes tacky and repositionable. I hope that helps!
