VIDEO | MFT Birthday Poppies

Hello there, I am over on the My Favorite Things YouTube channel today sharing a card using the Perfect Poppies dies. Although poppies are usually red, I wanted to make them blue for my card and create a birthday card.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the MFT Perfect Poppies Die-namics from MFT Sno Cone Cardstock for the petals, MFT Limelight Cardstock for the leaves and stems and MFT Black Licorice for the stamens. I added ink blending to the petals and leaves with Distress Inks. I used Mermaid Lagoon and Prize Ribbon for the petals and Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness for the leaves and stems.

The pieces were then layered up and adhered with MFT On-Point Precision Glue. I took a 3.75" x 5" panel of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the MFT All-Occasion Scripted Greetings Stamp Set with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I then adhered the stems on top, cutting them so that they could fit around the sentiment.

The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape. The poppies were then adhered on top with more thin foam tape. The leaves tucked underneath with more On-Point Precision Glue. To finish off, I added a few Little Things From Lucy's Cards Starshine Sprinkles.

I think the blue poppies work quite well, but I am looking forward to trying these poppies in red too! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day! Take care!

  1. So gorgeous Michelle! The blue poppies are so pretty and I love how you've inserted the sentiment amongst the stems. Beautiful design element 💙
