Spellbinders | February 2022 Large Die of the Month

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club Kit. This kit this month is called "Typing Class" and features a large typewriter and lots of lovely florals. This can be used in so many different ways. You could add the typewriter to a card, like I have done, or make a typewriter shaped card, you could even use the typewriter and/or flowers as a home décor piece!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the main typewriter body from the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club Kit using Spellbinders Waterfall Cardstock. The other pieces were cut from Spellbinders Teal Topaz Cardstock and Spellbinders Brushed Silver Cardstock. The keys panel was popped up with thin foam tape and the keys themselves are two cardstock high for some added dimension.

The kit comes with dies that you can cut a message out of the typewriter but I decided to add a piece of cardstock inside to look like it had typed a message (obviously with a different font than the standard typewriter font!). I took the happy birthday plate from the Spellbinders Thank You & Happy Birthday Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Set and foiled it on to the white cardstock with Spellbinders Black Glimmer Hot Foil Roll. It was then popped in to the typewriter (there is a slit cut by the die) and secured behind.

I cut the leaves and stems from the kit from Spellbinders Rainforest Cardstock and flowers from Spellbinders Purple Mist and Lilac Blossom Cardstock. The flowers were adhered to the card with thin foam tape, the leaves flat with Bearly Art Glue. The typewriter was added on to the card with foam tape. I then added a few more leaves and flowers on top of the typewriter. To finish off, I added a few Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essential Gems

This was a really fun kit to assemble! I had a typewriter as a child (I still have it somewhere!), so I have always liked typewriters. I would love an aqua one, although it would unlikely get used and just be a home décor piece in itself!

  1. What a beautiful, fresh and Springy card! Your colour palette is just gorgeous Michelle. The flowers and leaves look so pretty around the typewriter and the message is such a beautiful font! I must get some of that black foil :). Stunning card xxx
