Hero Arts September 2021 My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hello there and welcome as we countdown to the release of the Hero Arts September 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit. Release day is Tuesday 7th September 2021 but we will be sharing inspiration all weekend long (as well as yesterday!). This month is all about fall goodness! Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers, so I absolutely fell in love with this kit as soon as I saw it!

For my card today, I am using the layering stencil that comes in the kit. This stencil can be used alongside the image in the stamp set, or alone as I have on my card. I started off my taking a panel of white cardstock and placing the first stencil on top, securing with low tack tape. Using Ink Blending Brushes, I blended on a base layer of Lemon Drop Reactive Ink. I then added some depth around the edges with Dandelion Bold Ink

I took the next layer of the stencil and blended this with Dandelion Bold Ink and Just Rust Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. For the centres, I used Just Rust Mid-Tone Shadow Ink, Caramel Bold Ink and Cup O'Joe Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. For the leaves, I used Green Apple Bold Ink and Moss Bold Ink. There is another layer for the leaves but I felt that one off. The panel was adhered to a top folding A2 card base with thin foam tape.

I then took the hello word die that comes in the kit and cut it three times from white cardstock with adhesive sheet on the back. I cut the shadow from Classic Vellum Layering Paper. The main word was adhered to the shadow layer and then adhered to the card with tiny dots of Precision Glue. I took the sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set and stamped it on to Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape.

There are other accompanying sentiments in the main stamp set but I couldn't resist pairing that one with the card. I thought it was perfect for the sunflowers! 8. Michelle I love this card! The colours you chose are perfect. I am so excited to see there are layering stencils as I struggle with shading. While there are four sunflowers & some leaves to look at you still presented us with a CAS style card which I like.
