Spellbinders | Stitched Thanks

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders April 2021 Small Die of the Month Club. This month is called Stitched Thanks and you can see why! This is a gorgeous large die with a beautiful floral pattern around the word with stitching holes. Although the die is made to be stitched, you could definitely leave it without the stitching and it would still look pretty, I think!

For my card, I started off by die cutting the Spellbinders April 2021 Small Die of the Month from white cardstock. I then ran it back through the Platinum 6 to emboss it. This helps to show up the stitching lines that are created when die cutting. On the packaging, there is a guide to how to stitch but these lines do help too! I didn't have the packaging, so I did wing it slightly but I think it looked pretty in the end!

I used DMC Embroidery Floss in a pink, teal, purple and green. I apologise that I do not have the actual number reference for the colours. Once the stitching was completed (I am not going to lie, it took some time but I do think it was worth the time and effort!), I die cut the thanks letters twice from white cardstock and then once from coordinating cardstock colours. They were layered up and adhered to the stitching piece with FSJ Craft Glue

I took a 7.5" x 3.75" white card base and blended Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink at the bottom, blending to white as I went up the card. The panel was then added on top with FSJ Foam Squares. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Bubbles.

  1. I think this might be the first time I have seen you stitch on a card and it's stunning! Your pretty floss colours match so well with the beautiful cardstock letters! It's a beautiful die and one of the best I have seen Spellbinders release. Just beautiful. Stunning card xx
