VIDEO | Embossed Stencilled Backgrounds

Hello there, today I have two cards to share with you using the fabulous new Simon Says Stamp Congrats Word Mix 2 stamp set that released today as part of the new Let's Connect collection. I thought that I would combine the sentiments with embossing with stencils, which is one of my favourite techniques.

I started off my cards by creating the backgrounds. I took 3.75" x 5" panels of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and blended Distress Oxide inks on top using blending brushes. I used Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade for one panel and Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio for the other.

I then ran the panels through my die cutting machine with the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet Of Roses Stencil and embossed the stencil on to the panels. I then spritzed the panels using Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and set them aside to dry while I worked on my sentiments.

I stamped two of the sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Congrats Word Mix 2 Stamp Set on to vellum using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then applied Stick It Adhesive Sheet to the back of the vellum to be able to adhere them on to the cards. Because the adhesive covers the whole of the vellum piece, you cannot really see the adhesive.

For the sentiment with the square outline, I cut this using a Hero Arts Nesting Square Infinity Die (I had to cut a sliver off the right hand side using my guillotine) and used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Die for the other. The panels were added to A2 white card bases with foam tape and then the sentiment pieces added on top.

To finish off, I added a Doodlebug Tiny Heart Sprinkle to the square vellum sentiment and Lucy's Pink Moonstone Sequins to the other card, adhering them with Multi Medium Matte adhesive.
