Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts January 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit. This is such an amazing kit to start off the New Year with! I absolutely love it! If you are following along in the hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Lydia, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.
I thought that I would start off by sharing the card that I made for the Hero Arts blog. I love this pretty butterfly! I die cut the butterfly from Hero Hues Arctic Cardstock and then blended on some Pool Party Reactive Ink in to the centre for some dimension. It was then sprayed using White Iridescent Shimmer Spray for some sparkle and set aside while I worked on the other elements. I took an A2 white card base and scored lines on to the front using a scoring board and bone folder.
I then die cut the envelope die from the kit using Classic Vellum Layering Paper and added that to the card. I die cut two leaf branches from the kit using Hero Hues Kiwi Cardstock and added them to the envelope with Precision Glue. The butterfly was popped up using foam tape. The sentiment from the kit stamp set was stamped on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock, white heat embossed and cut out using the banner die in the kit. I then embellished with a few Hero Hues Blues Enamel Dots.
My next card has the same feel to it but this time using the flower dies in the kit. I started off by taking an A2 top folding card base and scoring lines on to the front panel with a scoring board and bone folder. I took the bouquet wrapper die from the kit and cut this from Classic Vellum Layering Paper. I then die cut the flowers from white cardstock and coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area).
The flowers were popped inside the bouquet (adhered with Precision Glue) and then the bouquet adhered to the card using tape runner. I took the sentiment from the kit stamp set and stamped it on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip using the banner die. The sentiment strip was added to the card with foam tape and then I finished of by adding a few dots on to the flowers with white gel pens and also added a few Hero Hues Purples Enamel Dots around the sentiment.
