Hero Arts July 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for July 2019. If you love camping and being at the lake, you will love this kit. I cannot deny that I am not that type of person, however, I had a lot of fun with this kit and you can make some beautiful landscapes with it.

We are back with a blog hop this month. For the hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Jess, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

My card today uses the main kit stamp set, coordinating dies and also a wonderful add-on set. I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and die cutting a Nesting Oval Infinity Die into the centre. I then set about creating my scene for the inside. I took another panel of cardstock and stamped the trees at the top. I used Green Hills Ink for the first layer and then Pine Ink for the second. I then ran this piece though my die cutting machine using the coordinating die for the trees. This just cuts the top of the trees and leaves the rest of the panel intact.

I then masked off the trees and blended inks below for the lake/water. I used Cornflower Blue Ink with a blending brush. I then stamped the water lines on top with the same Cornflower Blue ink. I took the man and boy stamps from the Lake Time Fun Stamp Set and stamped these at the bottom using Intense Black Ink. I took another panel of white cardstock and cut the top using the coordinating die for the mountains. I wanted fairly light mountains, so I just stamped the second layer of the mountains on to the piece with Soft Granite Ink.

I took a white A2 card base and blended more ink at the top, this time for the sky. I used Summer Sky Ink for this and then stamped the birds using Intense Black Ink. The mountain piece was adhered on top, followed by the tree/lake piece. I then added the oval window piece on top with foam tape. To finish off, I took the sentiment from the set and stamped this on to Pitch Black Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was then cut in to a strip and added to the card with a combination of tape runner and foam tape.

This is the card that I shared over on the Hero Arts Blog. I wanted a simple scene so I decided to stamp the mountains and trees inside of a Nesting Circle Infinity Die die-cut. The trees were stamped using Pine and Forever Green inks and the mountains with Soft Granite Ink. The sky was coloured with Copic Markers and the sentiment stamped with Intense Black Ink.
