Sending Smiles

Hello there, I hope you are all well. When I made this card using the Hero Arts Color Layering Dragonfly set, I thought it would look really pretty on vellum. I didn't want to do it for that design but went back to it and made this card.

I started off by creating a background for my dragonfly to sit on. I took a piece of watercolour paper and blended inks on to it. I used Hero Arts Tide Pool, Aquatic and Indigo. I then sprayed the piece with Hero Arts White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and splattered on some White Liquid Watercolor. I set the piece aside to dry and then cut it in to a square and mounted it to an A2 white card base with foam tape.

I stamped the dragonfly on to Vellum Cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then cut out with the coordinating die. I added this to the card with small dabs of Multi Medium Matte behind the embossing. I took a sentiment from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages set and stamped it on to Pitch Black Hero Hues Cardstock with Versamark ink. I applied the same embossing powder as the dragonfly and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape.

I think the dragonfly looks so pretty on vellum. I think it gives a lovely softness to the card against the brighter ink blending. Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a great day!
