Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the Hero Arts November My Monthly Hero Kit. This kit is geared towards advents for Christmas but it can also be used in lots of other ways as you will see with my projects today. If you are following along in the hop, you should have arrived here from the amazing Lydia, but if you get lost along the way, you can find the full list of participants below.
For my first project, I wanted to use the cling stamp that is in the kit, with the ornaments on. This is great combined with the die to create the advent windows but I wanted to use it simply for a card today. I started off by stamping it on to a panel of watercolour paper using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then blended on Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire. I sprayed the piece with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and set aside to dry.
Once dry, the piece was cut down in to a square. I created a mat for this from vellum and added these to an A2 white card base with foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Warm Animals set (which is an add-on set this month) and stamped this on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then cut this in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Frost and Blue Ombre sequins.
For my next project, I wanted to create tag using the clear stamp set that comes in the kit. I first die cut a Nesting Tag Die from red cardstock and took a number of the small images from the stamp set and stamped these on to the tag with Versamark Ink. I applied clear embossing powder and heat set. I then blended on Red Royal Ink around the edges of the tag to create some depth.
The sentiment from the Warm Animals set was stamped with Versamark Ink and white embossing powder was added before heat setting. This was cut in to a strip and added to the tag with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few jewels around the sentiment and twine (from the DIY Ornament Kit add-on) through the top to finish.
