I am quite particular about my cardstock, I really like heavyweight cardstock. In this video I am also sharing some favourite speciality papers, along with some patterned paper.

much like you i have phases of patterned paper, I'm now in the hmm must use it phase again lol. I use 300grams paper for my cardbases from Mondi i thin that's 140lbs and anything lower feels flimsy to me haha i do have 250grams and 160grams as well and for my copic or spectrum noir colouring I used neenah classic crest paper (crafter's companion paper)
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle. I like using Bazzill Card for card bases if wanting to have some colour/texture to the base card. As a scrapbooker, I tend to use my scrapping supplies to make cards so use lots of different card and paper packs. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love stamping on the Neenah 80 or 110 lb solar white but I like my card bases to be on the smooth white stock I get from Stampin Up because of how easy it writes and feels under hand.
ReplyDeleteI am still looking for the right kind of cardstock. I have not tried any of the ones you mention. I Will have to try them.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteyour video is interessting,love it.My favourite cardstock is not only one special,there are many.Lawn Fawn,Doodlebug Designs,Kaisercraft,Echo Park,etc.
A big hug for your lovely giveaway.Have a nice day,
hugs Sylvie
My favorite cardstock this year is the gold glitter cardstock. It's not from some known brand, but I discovered that I'm in love with gold glitter :D. Thank you for your video! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle.I like the distress watercolor cardstock because I like watercolor in! Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of papers and vellum! Great MFT Chevron PP and stripes winter pad! Would love to win MFT paper pad, great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the Neenah Desert Storm Kraft Cardstock - I just couldn't live without it :o) - thanks for the chance to win
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try the 110lb Neenah card for ages but I don't think we can purchase it in the UK. I think I may have to finally place an order at SSS. I love the MFT paper pads, I've bought a couple recently and they are really good quality. Thanks for the links as always, and for the chance to win xx
ReplyDeletei use the neenah solar white.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite paper pad is the Let's Polka by Lawn Fawn. It's a really nice pattern because you get dots and stripes in really interesting colours.
ReplyDeleteHugs
I've never tried any of those kinds of paper, I have a Canson pad for watercolouring, and I don't use copic markers, so I use bristol cardstock (I like brush lettering, and it works great!) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like the project life patterned paper pads - they're quite thick and nice, not card base material, but they don't feel as flimsy as many other pads I've tried. I haven't yet found the perfect plain cardstock - availability and price is just as important as thickness and quality - but I don't think I'll ever commit to shipping paper from the US. I'm waiting for a huuuge selection of Craft Creations card, both A4 and 12x12 to come in, so I'm hoping for love at first sight ahaha!
ReplyDeleteI love using Bazzill cardstock for die cutting - it comes in such beautiful colours! I love MME paper pads, and also have a few nice ones from Dear Lizzy too. Thank you for the chance to win xxx
ReplyDeleteOnce again thank you for all your information. In Australia it is hard to get some of the item you referred to.
ReplyDeleteregards Maureen
I love the handmade paper that we get locally. It is available in beautiful colors and textures and is completely eco-friendly.
ReplyDeleteReally useful video, thank you - am a big Stampin Up fan for card and papers, but not their white so will be pursuing your recommendation in the new year
ReplyDeleteAt the moment my favourite paper stack is by Bo Bunny, it's the Baby Bump Collection it's 6x6 and a nice heavy weight
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not normally a fan of Crafters Companion products, I love their watercolour paper as it's a lot cheaper than the Ranger/Tim Holtz paper but still really good quality & quite a bright white.
ReplyDeleteI love te Basil cardstock!! Thank your for sharing your favourites with us
ReplyDeleteI live in UK, and I got Fabriano student grade watercolour paper for excellent price. I really good quality, but it don't match any of my card stocks. I nice to know that Ranger have pure white watercolour paper. Need to try this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a great and informative video Michelle! My favourite paper pads are from Bo Bunny and Doodlebug but MFT has some gorgeous patterns as well, like the chevrons you showed, I generally love vibrant colours :)
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, thanks for the giveaway. I love using Papermill Direct cards to make Card bases. They are really Nice and sturdy. For stamping and coloring I use a watercolour pad from the local artshop, with mixed results. I have to get my hands on some Neenah cardstsock.
ReplyDeleteI usually use different white cardstock, one is Neenah Solar White. I recently bought SSS cardstock, where Copics are supposed to not bleed through for one layer cards, but I haven't tried it out yet. For watercoloring, the Ranger paper is my absolute favorite! :)
ReplyDeleteI like American Crafts cardstock and Neenah solar white. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite paper pads must be the Avery Elle collections, especially the sorbet collection. They are such versatile patterns and the colours match perfectly to their ink pads!
ReplyDeleteI use Neenah solar white card stock and I love echo park paper pads
ReplyDeleteI'm still quite new to card making and so I'm still experimenting and so all your video's are very helpful. Thank you
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle I use lots of different whites but mainly Neenah for stamping! Ike you I don't use so much patterned paper and i tend to go for basic patterns. I have used Lawn Fawn Lets Polka this year. Thank you for the great video xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I like the avery elle paper pad 6x6 brights collection. I prefer tone in tone patterned paper over others. Have a lovely day! Nicole
ReplyDeleteHiya! I love your favourites videos even though they make me spend lots of money ;). I would have to say one of my favourite paper pads is back to basics dovecraft, they have some really amazing designs and I have all the different pads, and I like to mix and match them. I don't really use a special white card stock but I do have a pack from create and craft that is amazing quality and really sturdy for any use. Have a great new year and thank you for the opportunity of winning one of your favourite products :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite papers are Brutus Monroe Cardstock & Gina K Designs Cardstock. They're both very sturdy and come in some wonderful colors!
ReplyDeleteI like the stampin up card stock besides the white, loved the strawberry slush I think it was but that gone now so using mine sparingly lol
ReplyDeleteHugs Mel x
hi Michelle, i love neenah solar white, but wish UK would stock the heavy weight one that you can only get from USA. Also loving glitter card and the Echo Park polka dot paper pads. Have a very happy new year and many blessings to you for good health love Marlou xx
ReplyDeleteI adore anything speckled. I love using it on birthday cards. Avery Elle use to have a speckled cardstock that was super thick : (
ReplyDeleteFor cards took I tend to use Michael's brand 110 lb and for patterns I like dcwv pads and lawn fawn
ReplyDeleteI'm a PTI card stock person. I love the colors and weight
ReplyDeleteI love and constantly use the neenah solar white cardstock! Seems like a boring choice but I really don't use anything else even half as much!
ReplyDeleteI dont currently have a favourite white cardstock but youve given me some to check out, my favpurite coloured carstock is stampin ups Cardstock for my card bases. My favourite papers at the minute is Lawn fawns let's polka mon amie. Although I love anything with dots stripes geometric patterns.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love to use Stampin Up Cardstock (esp their Designer Series). They were the first type I used and I have always used their cardstock for my crafting. However, with all the types PP have stated I need to expand my inventory. Much greetings to you and everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI love good quality card stock, it can really change to whole look of a card. I prefer thick and smooth card, I just love it!
ReplyDeleteLovely video! I am just stRting to use MFT colored cardstock and I love it, but also have been eyeing PTI and it is high on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteI am a long time stalker of your YT channel and I just love these kinds of videos. Helps me with my shopping-madness! :)
ReplyDeleteMy fave cardstocks are the Card Shoppe ones from Bazzill and the Neenah papers.
Thank you for your video series, it's been helping me a lot to see other options. I use SSS cardstock for almost everything, but I also like the core'dinations for sanding.
ReplyDeleteThe card stock I use the very most is Neenah solar white. Thanks for this video, now I have some other card stocks to try!
ReplyDeleteI have tried various cardstocks and by far my favorite is Stampin' Up. It doesn't crack, tear and scores really well. Not to mention I like that it's heavyweight. Paper pads - I adore doodlebug paper pads as well as Lawn Fawn ones.
ReplyDeleteI am still "wearing L plates" so I haven't got one specific type of card that I use, I am just using up what I have, which came from a local craft shop, sadly now closed. You could fill a box, I think it held about 4 reams of "mix and match" paper/card/vellum. I didn't really know what I was looking for, so it's a right mish mash of everything. Paper pads I have are "freebies" from craft magazines. Thank you for the chance to win a "proper" paper pad x
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your 2015 Craft Favorites series. I share your love of Papertrey Ink's cardstock. It's pretty much all I buy these days. I love the pattern paper that you've chosen as your favorites, too. I haven't bought any lately because I have so much older stuff that I'm trying to use up or donate (it's mostly distress patterns and they really aren't my style at all). Thanks for the chance to win that lovely chevron pattern paper!
ReplyDeleteAnother great video, Michelle! We have so many of the same faves...especially PTI Stamper's Select! I couldn't craft without it :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't know the PTI cardstock. Usually I work with Card Shoppe (I am on a design team and our Card Kits includes Card Shoppe).
ReplyDeleteI also like Bazzill White 30 x 30" sheet cardstock because of the texture.
When it comes to paper pads, I prefer bright colours and basic designs. My favorite pattern? STARS ***
My go to card stock is the Neenah Solar White. But I also use a lot of PTI papers too! Thanks for another great video.
ReplyDeleteA standard favorite for me is MFT card stock. I love the colours and texture.
ReplyDeleteGreat video!! I love all those cardstocks too! My favorite patterned papers are by Doodlebug and I enjoy using Neenah solar white too! :) I've never tried the MFT papers though. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteGreat video!! I love all those cardstocks too! My favorite patterned papers are by Doodlebug and I enjoy using Neenah solar white too! :) I've never tried the MFT papers though. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHi! I use Neenah Solar White 110 lb for card bases and the 80 lb for layers. I don't use much colored cardstock, but really want to try some of the PTI and MFT. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite cardstock is the Neenah Solar white
ReplyDeleteI love paper pads but tend to hoard them rather than use them!! I really like simple designs too like stripes, dots and chevrons and that MFT paper pad looks really lovely. Thanks for the chance to win x x
ReplyDeleteI usually use Neehan solar white for my stamping and Copic coloring, but for my bases I have switched over to Michaels 120lb. It is a great sturdy base and much cheaper. Thanks for the great tips on paper, especially on colors and patterned ones. I wanted to ask, if you could only use one brand of colored cardstock for card bases, which in would you choose? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love bazzill marshmallow and taffy card stock.
ReplyDeleteI like to stamp and colour on the Neenah white cardstock. As for paper pads I usually get the most use from simple muted backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the UK and can't justify buying card from the USA. I still haven't found the perfect white card and mostly use card from my local paper mill. Is The heavier weight Neenah available in the UK, I haven't been able to find it despite frequent searching. You've inspired me to use more patterned paper over the previous year and like mft, echo park, my minds eye and law fawn.
ReplyDeleteI love PTI and GinaK cardstock. Thanks for sharing your favorites :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard one to answer, I have lots of favourites Samuel Taylor's white card 250 to 170 GSM being one and any craft card. I am a real sucker for pattern paper hugs Bee.
ReplyDeleteI tend to use craftwork cards cardstock and also their card blanks. For printed papers I love PTI, Doodlebug and NOT.
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying this series Michelle!!! I use a lot of the Neenah 110lb. cardstock but my favorite is Gina K Designs 120lb. Heavy Base Weight. All of her cardstock is absolutely "OUT OF THIS WORLD" - best quality I have found to date. Happy crafting everyone!
ReplyDeleteI like the Neenah cardstock and MFT and Lawn Fawn pads the best.
ReplyDeleteI use the Neenah Solar White for everything. For patterned papers I also like Echo Park and Doodlebug. I also had a question, where do you get those clear storage bags which you mentioned you use to store your 6x6 pads?
ReplyDeleteI love the neenah dessert storm and neenah white
ReplyDeleteI have recently found 110# cardstock and realized the cardstock I was using was probably 65# what a difference the 110# makes as a card base. I also love patterned paper, especially Stampin Up.
ReplyDeleteI use Papermill Direct card for card bases, and a variety of HP watercolour card, as my favourite colouring method is watercolour. I agree with you that the geometric patterned paper is the most versatile, v good for backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteI love the Neenah Solar White 110 lb for my Copic coloring and I really love Graphic 45 and My Minds Eye for pattern paper. I really want to try PTI's cardstock after seeing your video!!
ReplyDeleteThanks fo the chance to win, I've been liking the Neenah desert storm Kraft paper and distress watercolour paper.
ReplyDeleteI love the Neenah Solar White!!
ReplyDeleteI do love the neenah solar white for bases, but GinaK has great heavy base colors.
ReplyDeleteMine is Graphic 45 Gilded, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeletei like the stamps of life cardstock. it has matching inkpads and patterned paper and just lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeen enjoying the MFT cardstocks but a new inexpensive and easy to get for me favorite is the Recollections.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this review. I have been using Neenah paper but on your recommendation, I'll give Papertrey a try!
ReplyDeleteI like the Tim Holts Watercolor Cardstock since I've learned to rubberstamp.
ReplyDeleteMy fav Copic for coloring is the Copic XPress It Blending card stock. I'm a sucker for 6 x6 and 8 x8's so there's no favorite - love them all!
ReplyDeleteI tend to use Bazill card stock, love the whole range. There's something that feels very satisfying when you come home with lots of new sheets to use rather than having to work with all the off cuts which I am forever trying to use up to prevent them overflowing in my drawers!
ReplyDeleteI like the Neenah Solar White 110lb best but I think I will have to try the Papertrey Ink white card. Like you, I go through phases using patterned paper and I generally prefer classic patterns like dots and stripes.
ReplyDeleteI have been using Simon Says Stamp and Neenah Solar for so long, that I haven't tried anything else. You are now tempting me with Papertrey Ink paper!
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, you are such an ... enabler to me! Everything you show, I have to buy! ;) I like Neenah Solar White 110lb for card bases and Neenah Solar White 80lb for layering. I won't buy from Papertrey any more because their shipping is prohibitive and I'm also only buying from SSS when I can't possibly find something here in UK (also down to shipping costs). Thanks you for your inspiration during 2015 and I can't wait to see what you come up with in 2016! Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteI've only started trying out "good" quality papers. Up until lately, my go to for card bases has been cardstock from Staples! I keep putting the PTI paper into my cart then taking it out because of the shipping! When our dollar gets better I will definitely buy some.
ReplyDeleteI love the Glitter card stock from Die Cuts with a View... it adds a nice bling when required and means you don't get a ton of glitter all over everything too. I really want to try your suggestion of the PTI card .. if only their shipping wasn't so cruel!
ReplyDeleteBTW try out some Hot Press watercolour paper .. you can get it from an art supplier. I prefer it to the Tim Holtz which can grain up if you use too many layers. I love the smoothness of the Hot press paper, worth a go!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle - I have really enjoyed your videos since discovering you :) Ive enjoyed using the crafters companion watercolour cardstock i really like the texture and thickness
ReplyDeleteI love them all! However, I have to say the Gina K cardstock is a new favourite.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the PTI cardstock! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteafternoon. i do like lawn fawn paper pads, but i have brought craft asylum from hobby craft. it is lovely paper and the colours are great too. comes in 6x6 and 12x12. never heard of them be for. sarah
ReplyDeleteMy favorite card stock is Neenah 110 but I like a thick patterned paper as well and as long as it's pretty it is a winner for me.
ReplyDeleteMy go to for card bases is the Neenah solar white 110lb. I do love the PTI and MFT papers. Is like to try more of the bazzill card shoppe papers. I also love the look of the mft pads!
ReplyDeleteHi, Michelle! Thanks for the video! I really enjoy hearing about all of your favorite products! I, too, am a big fan of PTI cardstocks! My favorite for sure!!! I also have a small addiction to patterned papers. Some of my favorites are Lawn Fawn, My Mind's Eye, and Avery Elle.

ReplyDeleteGreat video Michelle :) I love the Neenah's Classic columns for my card bases multiple shades of white and cream and I am addicted to all 6x6 paper pads. I am still trying to find my favourite card stock for watercolour so I think I will try your favourites. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a Neenah Solar White type of girl! It is my go to paper of all time. For my colors I like Stampin UP and Bazzill. I like the heavy cardstock the best.
ReplyDeleteHi michelle,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite card stock is Nenaah white linen, and although it's 80 pounds. it feels like 110, the texture is gorgeous and classy, that is what I use for my card bases and for any die cuts, if not I like Bazzil or American Craft.
Cariños,
María Alba
I'm new to card making and I love the DCWV 12x12 because it's beautiful sweet Paris!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite cardstock, yet; but a couple of my favorite paper collections are Lawn Fawn Polka Mon Amie and Docrafts Eau de Nil.
ReplyDeleteI use a lot of Stampin Up cardstock, Bazzill and American Crafts. kaisercraft is readily available here in Australia and so is DCWV, but i am not as keen on the texture of these.
ReplyDeleteI use papermill direct card for card bases and a variety of watercolour card. I agree with you that geometric patterned paper is the most versatile.
ReplyDeleteI really like PTI card stock. It's the perfect weight for cards. :-)
ReplyDeleteDoodlebug for paper and Bazzill for cardstock
ReplyDeleteGreat series of films. Thanks for all the advice. My favorite papers Photo Paper is a Polish manufacturer http://sklepik.na-strychu.pl/papier-do-scrapbookingu/1/default/1/f_producer_171/1

Its nice to get your eyes on new tings so thank you for your videos! I like bazzil cardstock The best but also papers made by TeresaCollins.
ReplyDeleteAny bright and colourful for paper
ReplyDeleteSU CS is my fave :) i love doodlebug patterned paper.
ReplyDeleteI love PTI for cardstock. Great colours, quality and price, and I like the fact they sell 12-packs of the coloured cardstock as it is expensive to ship to Europe.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours...aqua I think and so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite a fan of the Simon Says Stamp card stock, I like the 100lb weight and great selection of colour.
ReplyDeleteMine is the PTI select white card stock. I have a small stash left and only use it for special cards at the moment but hope to get some more soon.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite paper pad in 2015 was MME indie chic!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite cardstock is Stampin Up and Simon Says.
ReplyDeleteLinda D.
I prefer using Recollections cardstock for layering, but for patterned paper I love Bo Bunny's cardstock!
ReplyDeleteI am in my learning phase, so I I don't have a favorite at the moment. It is for that reason that I'm glad that you shared your favorites. It gives me something to look for! Thanks for all the 2015 faves!
ReplyDeleteI don't have favorite company I just love all vintage, pastel colours and flower papers
ReplyDeleteI always tend to be drawn to spotted or striped papers. Karen xxx
ReplyDeleteI love Crafters Companion and Woodware watercolour card. I also love all different patterned paper depending on my mood! xxx
ReplyDeleteMy favorite paper is the DCWV collage art stack paper. The pad I bought has 48 sheets in it and I have used almost all of them. I will probably buy another pad of it if I can find it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick just one, I guess it would be DCWV because they come out with so many different types of paper. Thank you so much for the chance to win. Take care, Kim :)
ReplyDeleteI bought my favorite paper pads from Lidl. One is birthday themed and the other is love themed. They have beautiful images and patterns and one side of the sheet is plain and the other has the same pattern but it also has some glitter on it.
ReplyDeleteI just love a regular white card and watercolour paper because they offer so much versatility.
ReplyDeleteGreat Video...Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI tend to hoard my paper pads rather than using them! But my favourites are the lawn fawn beachside pattern paper pad, the A very elle sorbet collection and my minds eye on trend paper pad! It's just so pretty though I don't want to cut it!!
ReplyDeleteI love paper pads and cardstocks :) I have from several companies in my stash that I use regularly: CTMH, American Crafts and the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
ReplyDeleteI love to use Bazzels Basic card stock for card bases. I can often find packs of 25 sheets $2.99. It is a pleasingly thick base stock. I use GP 110# white for layers and stamping. I very much enjoyed you favorite series. TFS.
ReplyDeleteI just recently started using Papertrey Ink card stock and really like it. Otherwise any Lawn Fawn paper pad I enjoy using too!,
ReplyDeleteI love the Stampin´UP Cardstock.
ReplyDelete
