Watercolour Birthday Wishes

Hello there, I received a beautiful card this week from Amanda who was kindly thanking me for the prize she won from one of my latest giveaways. I thought the card was beautiful, I just loved the colours - purples, aquas, blues - My favourites! I asked Amanda if she wouldn't mind if I CASE'd her card and thankfully, she said she would be happy for me to.

I decided to take the layout and design and change up the colours and the sentiment to make it a male birthday card. I first took a piece of TH watercolor cardstock and applied my Windsor & Newton watercolour paints to this, in a messyish/artsy way. I then cut this panel out using the ME Femme Frames rectangle die. I ran the piece through my Cuttlebug using the birthday sentiment from the MFT Happy Birthday die collection.

I then cut this another two times from more of the cardstock. I took an A2 card base that I made from Bazzill Blueberry Sour Cardshoppe cardstock and added the panel on top with tape runner. I then added in the word dies, stacked on top of each other, finishing off with the original one cut from the watercoloured panel. The 'wishes' portion of the sentiment was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink using a sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages set.

I really like how this card came out and a big thank you goes to Amanda for the inspiration. The only thing I am not sure of though, is if the males in my family will get that the watercolour bit is supposed to be artsy and not messy! LOL. Thanks so much for visiting me today, have a great day!

  12. Gorgeous card! You may have to mention that to the males, or give it to an artsy/trendy one. I sometimes have to explain a style, more often to men but sometimes to a woman.
