Hello there, today I have a card to share using the new Give Thanks stamp set from the Making Spirits Bright release from Simon Says Stamp, which is out today. This is such a beautiful set for both autumn cards and winter ones. I went with a winter Christmas theme for my card today.
I started off with a sheet of watercolour paper. I took the tree from the stamp set and stamped this repeatedly over the piece using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then took three Distress Inks and blended these over the panel. I used Broken China, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire.
I misted the panel with water and then dropped on some Iridescent Bright Silver Liquitex Ink (unfortunately in the photos it looks like grey blobs but in real-life it is iridescent and shimmery!). I felt like it needed even more shimmer, so I spritzed over some Sparkle Shimmer Spritz too. The piece was then set aside to dry.
Once dry, I die cut the piece using one of the SSS Stitched Rectangle Dies. I took the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from the set and stamped this on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. The piece was then cut in to a banner. I adhered the tree panel on to a white A2 card base with foam tape and then added the sentiment on top, with more foam tape. To finish off, I added PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti.

When I think of Christmas trees, I usually think of green and red, so it was nice to use blues for them on this occasion. Unfortunately you cannot see all of the shimmer on the panel. In real-life it is really pretty! You can find all of the new Simon Says Stamp release here. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a lovely day!
Very classy Christmas card, Michelle, and I love the background.

It's a beautiful card Michelle! It's always hard to capture shimmer isn't it especially with grey days like we have been having! Love that pretty tree and the colour palette, I use a lot of blue and silver for Christmas and love it. I bet this is so sparkly too as I know how gorgeous that spray is, I would use it on everything if I could get away with it! Lisa xx
ReplyDeleteLove it in non traditional colours. A nice change. Those trees are fabulous and you're doing well to get another card into the stash pile. Extra sparkle too! Xx
ReplyDeleteReally love the background! Such an easy card to make multiples of!
