Hello there, today for my Craft Favourites of 2015, I am talking about die cutting.
I have to be honest and say that I was not that adventurous with die cutting this year. I really did keep to the basics. In the video I share some of my favourite basic dies, as well as a couple of essential die cutting accessories.

Great video! I don't think I could pick just one favorite. Some of the ones I've used a lot this year are the great stitched dies from pretty pink posh and the basic stitched shapes from my favorite things. The stitching just adds the perfect touch to projects. :)

ReplyDeletei also mostly have basic shape dies, I do like the stitched ones from SSS but as cardsizes are different in centimeters I'm scared to buy them as I wonder if i'd use them, i like to make shakers cards with fun shaped dies like hearts and or stars etc.

ReplyDeleteI've added so many stitched dies to my stash this year and I think my most used are the MFT Stitched Rectangles. I sooo want to get my hands on the PTI linen plate, I so wish we could buy PTI products in the UK without crazy shipping prices. Thanks for another great video x
ReplyDeleteMy favourite dies are like you, my stitched frames! I have the lawn fawn squares (because i mainly make square cards!!) and I use them on nearly all my cards!!!
ReplyDeleteThere have been so many great dies this year and my favorite one that I bought was the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I don't have any of the other shapes yet, but I know I will end up getting them eventually. I just love that double stitching!

I am going to have a hard time choosing my favourite but I would probably have to say either just plain circle dies because they are so useful and have a wide range of use or a butterfly die, that has beautiful detail and is very versatile. I think after this video I am definitely going to have to do and buy some of the stitching does they look really good! Have a good New Years and thank you for the opportunity to win a great die!

ReplyDeleteI'm really loving your video favourites, it's great to see them "live" so to speak, it helps for sizing purposes for me......I'm such a visual person, even when given dimensions, I'm much better when I see things, so thanks for that! My favourite dies would have to be stitched dies, all shapes and the femme frames from ME, that was actually the first set of dies I purchased from them when they opened their business. Love them! ReplyDeleteAnother fab vid Michelle, my favourite die I think so far has to be spellbinder basic rectangles set A and B but I am so tempted to get the stitched one but there is so many makes and so many sizes I am a bit lost as to which to buy and worry about buying from abroad.

I LOVE that quilted Stitched die and the linen die you showed! They have been added to my the top of my wish list :) Currently my favorite die sets are the Stitched Squares & Rectangles from My Creative Time. They are basically like the Simon Says Stamp dies you showed in your video. I had the LF stitched rectangles (both sizes) before th SSS double stitched came out, so I never invested in the SSS, although I do like the double stitching. I have never seen the cute quilting plate you showed by Lil Inker, but I love it, I am enjoying your crafty favorite series, thanks for doing them.

Apart from that set, I would have to say the Tag Along It Die collection from clearly besotted or one of Pretty Pink Posh's stitched Duo's, I just love them!
ReplyDeleteHi I think my favorite dies have to be the stitched rectangles set I have from Lawn Fawn, the stitching just adds a little zing to clean and simple designs without being distracting. Ive never used any clearly besotted products but they have some lovely designs. I'm keen on that little pooches set but I have to find someone who sells it in the US. Thanks for all the inspiration.

I have a "stash" of more than 500 hundred dies, from Spellbinders toMFT,PTI.TE,ME,WP9,Sue Wilson and many more brands, but the ones that I keep going to and using more often are Spellbinders and PTI, although my new "baby" is the tiny bow from ME, as we say in my Country,Puerto Rico "una chulería", loosely translated,the cutest thing ever! ReplyDeleteTo be honest, my #1 die cutting tool is my Cricut Explore Air. While I do like using metal dies for some things, my Cricut is me go to die cutter. Like you though, I use the both the dotted & stitched rectangle dies quite often for card making.

ReplyDeleteI don't have very many dies but I have a Cricut machine that I use quite often and it does a lot of my cutting for me. I would love to have more dies as they are so easy to use.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite die is a die that cuts a spiral of paper and with that and a quilling needle I can make a rose out of it. I bought a papercrafting magazine and it came with it. I just love making little roses in all the colors of the rainbow with it!

ReplyDeleteI love the mama elephant index card dies mainly for the stitched rectangle and scallop rectangle dies they end up on most cards. I am also really into word dies at the minute like the happy stamp and cut from hero arts :) only had my die cutting machine for a year but it's had so much use!
