Better Together Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today I have the absolute pleasure of taking part in a blog hop to celebrate the collaboration between Hero Arts and Ellen Hutson for their United We Flourish campaign. The Hero Arts set is called Better Together and is filled with beautiful bird images. It is exclusive to Ellen Hutson.

For my card today, I decided to use two of the bird images that look like parrots (to me). They were on the stamp set in this orientation and I thought that they looked like they were in love so went with an anniversary card. I started off by stamping the branch and the two birds on to white cardstock with black ink. They were then coloured using Copic Markers and cut out using the coordinating dies.

I then took a white panel of cardstock and scored lines on to it using a scoring board and bone folder. I took the 'happy anniversary' sentiment from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages set and stamped this towards the bottom of the panel. It was then adhered to a white A2 card base with tape runner. The branch was added on with more tape runner and then the birds added on top with foam tape.

I took the heart cluster from the Hero Arts Sun Showers Frame Cuts set and cut these from white cardstock. I coloured two of them with red Copic Markers and then added them to the card with liquid glue. To finish off, I added Glossy Accents to the hearts and the bird's beaks.

Magnolia Love

Hello there, I just couldn't resist using the Magnolia from the Ellen Huston Mondo Magnolia set again. It is just so beautiful! This time I used colour pencils to colour on to kraft cardstock.

I first took a piece of PTI Kraft cardstock and stamped the magnolia image on to it using Versamark ink. HA White embossing powder was applied and then heat set. I coloured the magnolia in using Derwent Coloursoft Pencils (I haven't used these for ages but I remember now why I love them!). I also added a little shading around the outside.

The panel was adhered to a white A2 card base using ATG. The sentiment, from the Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental set, was stamped using black ink on to a strip of white cardstock. The left end was cut in to a ribbon end and then added to the card with foam tape. I finished off the card by adding three Doodlebug Cupcake Sprinkles around the sentiment piece.

Mondo Magnolia

Hello there, this Mondo Magnolia stamp set from Ellen Hutson arrived two days ago. I thought the magnolia was just so pretty, I just had to have a quick play with it straight away. I did Google magnolia's as I knew most were white. I did find that they come in pink too but went with a peach colour for my card today.

I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and stamping the magnolia image from the set on to it, slightly overlapping on the top, right edge. I also stamped the hello form the set in the bottom left. Both of these were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the flower using Copic Markers, adding some dots, inspired by Jennifer McGuire's latest video. I have used dots many times as backgrounds/grounding but never to colour an actual image. I do like the look!

The panel was adhered to an A2 PTI Melon Berry card base with foam tape. I added it towards the bottom right to give a bit of interest in the top left. I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the centre of the flower/stamens and then added a tiny pearl to finish.
