Sorry I'm Late ...

Shame on me, I missed one of my friends Birthdays recently so this is the card I have made to say sorry. She is on holiday at the moment so she will get it on her return. When this set came out I fell in love with it and loved all the samples by the ATS DT and this card is inspired by those. I layered SU! Bashful Blue CS on to a white card blank then a layer of white CS followed by a strip of Piggy Tales paper accross the bottom wrapped around with some blue grosgrain ribbon. I have then stamped the cute snail with Airondack ink and hand drawn a little trail for him, coloured in with Copics. The obligatory 3 gem stones added to finish!

Have a Bee-utiful Day!

When I bought these stamps a while back I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them, this card hasn't come out exactly as planned but I still think it is cute and I know the recipient liked it so that's good enough for me! I stamped out the beehive on to some white CS and then added the bees above. I coloured them in with my Copic markers adding glitter to the bee's wings with my Spica pen. I then made a trail for the bees by piercing holes into the card. I mounted the panel to black CS then to yellow and added to a small white card blank. I stamped the sentiment on to yellow then rounded two of the corners to make a tab and added this to the card. 3 gem stones added to finish.

Monkey Birthday Frame

So this card was a nightmare from start to finish!! It is for my cousin who was 13 last week. So I was going to put a 13 on the card somewhere then my mum informs me that maybe he isn't 13!! Well I didn't know what to do then, add it on and make a terrible mistake if he isn't 13? So I left it off. I then didn't know what to do for him, I know he likes football but I did that last year, oh the stress of it!! Then I remembered that Natalie kindly gave me a couple of these monkey images a while back (thank you so much Natalie!) so went with one of these. I coloured it in with watercolour pencils and mounted to blue CS, this was then mounted to the base with 3D foam pads. The base has been made by layering brown CS on to a white card blank and adding a strip of darker brown down the edge and adding 3 blue brads.

STAMPS: Stampendous. CS: Craftwork Cards, Doodlebug Designs. ACCESSORIES: Papermania brads.

My Shopping Trip

So after having a bit of a rubbish week last week I decided I needed cheering up a bit! Today I went on a proper shopping trip to Crafts U Love and The Craft Barn for some retail therapy. I have never been to either of these shops before and it took about 45 mins drive to Crafts U Love then another 30 mins to get to The Craft Barn. It was really nice going to some proper craft shops. Where I live there is only 2; one in a department store selling Do Crafts stuff and another really small one (which is packed full though). I thought you may like to see what I bought ... (I have left the pic small so you can click on it for a better view)

It was strange going into Craft U Love (good strange though) after having been a customer of their online shop for so long it was strange walking around it! It was a bit of a long drive but worth the journey, what a lovely shop!! Lovely customer service and I could have spent all day in there (and spent a fortune too!). The Craft Barn was lovely as well, managed to pick up some Prima Flowers and they have TONS of paper! What I really liked about both shops was that they had loads of handmade cards all along the walls which was really nice.

I will be back tomorrow will some cards!

The Message I Didn't Want To Post ...

but I know a lot of my regular visitors wanted to to know. I got my results through this week. I passed my assignment and also my practical exams but sadly failed my maths exam. This is the first thing I have failed in three years so I am obviously quite upset but you know what? I am just going to retake it and pass next time. My life has never been easy and I never wanted it to be so this is just one of those things that I gotta brush myself down and try again. Out of my class of about 80 or so people only SIX passed so it is not like I am the only person who failed.

So for all those of you who were going to send me a card ;0) You can still send one but hold off till next month now!!

On a postive note, I had an interview for a job and got it! They were checking my references and had to have a criminal records check and a health exam but have now passed all these so the job is mine :0) Unfortunately I will have to start a little later than planned now, not till the 16th September but it will give me a bit of time off which is nice. I wanted to say thanks for the support you have shown, you know who you are and hopefully I will be able to give you some good news when I re-take the exam.
