Beautiful Blooms

Hello there, if you watch my haul videos or follow me on Instagram, then you will know that I splurged and purchased the MFT Beautiful Blooms kit a little while ago. Well, I finally managed to sit down and have a play with it a few days ago.

 

I started off by stamping the flowers, stems and leaves from the stamp set in the kit, using MFT dye inks on to some white cardstock. I then die cut them out using the matching dies. I also die cut the vase from both MFT Wild Wisteria cardstock and a piece of paper from the Tranquil Textures paper pad (also included in the kit). These were then adhered together. I wanted the cardstock piece behind the paper for added thickness/stability.

 

 

I took a MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and cut this from white cardstock. I added the flowers, stems and leaves on to it using tape runner. I then added the vase with foam tape. The panel was then adhered to a Wild Wisteria A2 card base (embossed with the PTI Linen Embossing Plate). The sentiment, from the MFT Things With Wings stamp set, was stamped on to a piece of white cardstock using black ink and then cut out. This was added to the card with more foam tape on the right hand side and tape runner on the left. To finish off, I added clear Wink of Stella to the blue and purple flowers, and also added a few sequins.

VIDEO | Thank You Fairy Much

Hello there, today I have the absolute pleasure of taking part in a Video Blog Hop to celebrate Kari reaching 2000 subscribers on her You Tube Channel. Kari shares amazing videos at KWCardDesign and is such a lovely person, so I am thrilled to be able to celebrate with her. There are prizes up for grabs for you all too! :)

For my card, I started off by stamping and colouring the fairies plus flower image from the new Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamp set. These were coloured with Copics and die cut out using the matching dies. I then ran a piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug and cut the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles twice. The first piece I kept intact, the second was run back through using the ME Grassy Border die.

I took Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn and blended these over the grass piece. I then used Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the sky/background piece. The sentiment, from the same Fairy Friends set, was stamped on to the grass piece using black ink. The sky/background piece was added to a white A2 card base with ATG and then I added the grass piece on top.

The flower image, as well as two toadstools (from the Gleeful Gardens - I had already coloured these in the past and kept them) were popped behind the grass. The fairies were then added with foam tape. To finish off, I added clear Wink of Stella to the fairies wings, the purple flowers and the dots on the toadstools.

Birthday Peonies

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the new beautiful Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set. It is so pretty and great for layering up.

 

I started off with a panel of white cardstock cut using the ME rectangle Femme Frames die. I then stamped the first layer of the peonies using black ink, this is the outline layer. I then stamped the solid layer with Memento Lulu Lavender ink, the next layer was with PTI Winter Wisteria ink and the final, more detailed layer with Memento Elderberry ink. The leaves are three step and I used the same black, Memento New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves.

 

 

To make the flowers pop even more, I added a shadow/halo around them with B000 and B0000 Copic Markers. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the darkest parts of the flowers. The SSS Birthday die cut was cut twice form Black cardstock and layered up The 'wishes' was stamped on to the panel with black ink and the 'birthday' added above. The panel was then added to a white A2 card base with foam sheet.

I have to be honest and say that I struggled a bit to line up the layers on the larger flower but I think it came out ok in the end.
