VIDEO | Card Making Haul - January & February 2021

Hello there, today I have a haul to share with you. I wasn't too well in January and February and because of that, I wasn't able to do that much. This led to me being on my phone more and doing online shopping! So I ended up buying quite a bit recently that I thought I would share with you today.

As you will see from the video, most of what I purchased was from Altenew. I have been guesting with them the last couple of months and it made me remember why I love their products so much! When you do a lot of design team work, there isn't much time to play with other brands sadly, so it has been nice for me to use Altenew products again recently. Because of this, I decided I needed a few new things! Here is what I got:

If you are viewing this post via email subscription, you can watch the video here on YouTube.

Altenew | Paint-A-Flower Clematis & Artist Alcohol Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today to celebrate the release of the new Paint-A-Flower Clematis Stamp Set plus new Artist Alcohol Markers too. Sadly, I wasn't able to receive the alcohol markers in time, so my project today features the Paint-A-Flower Clematis set using older alcohol marker colours, but please see below to take a look at the new sets.

We are celebrating the release with a fun, inspiration filled blog hop. More info on that below.

I started off my card by stamping the Altenew Paint-A-Flower Clematis Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured the image using Altenew Artist Markers (I did use some other alcohol markers to fill in the colour gaps where I do not have the Altenew ones). The colours that I used are listed below the supplies area. I then cut the image out using the Altenew Halftone Circles Nesting Die Set

I took an A2 white card base and embossed the next largest circle from the die set on to the front. I added strips of black cardstock across and then added the image piece on top with foam tape. To finish off, I stamped the sentiment from the set below the image with more black ink.

As mentioned, unfortunately I wasn't able to play with the new Altenew Artist Marker Sets today but there are two new ones being released - Sunshine Valley Garden (Set F) and Water Garden (Set G). These colours are so pretty and would work well with lots of different images. I especially love the look of those purples!

Spellbinders | Small Die of the Month Club February 2021

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders February 2021 Small Die of the Month Club Kit. This month features the Trefoil Tile & Panel Card Creator. This is a rectangle panel (which looks a little like trellis to me) and then you also have pieces that you can add inside the panel, or use separately.

For my card, I started off by die cutting the panel die three times from white cardstock. I added adhesive sheet behind the white cardstock before die cutting so that I could adhere them one on top of another easily. I then cut one of the centre pieces three times from pink cardstock. In this piece there is a pattern with a butterfly. I decided to cut around the butterfly with scissors, so that I could use it as a stand alone image.

I also die cut the flowers and leaves from the Spellbinders Glimmering Butterflies Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. These were cut from yellow cardstock and mint for the leaves. I set these aside while I worked on my card base. I took a panel of white printer paper that measures 6.5" x 3.25" and added double sided adhesive sheet to it. I removed the top piece and then adhered strips of cardstock on top diagonally. Once they were all added, I cut off the excess from the sides and added it to a mini slimline card base with tape runner.

The die cut panel was added on top, followed by the flowers and butterflies. I adhered some with glue and some with foam squares. I finish off, I added a sentiment from the Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set that I foiled on to white cardstock with Silver Foil and die cut using the die from the Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments Series 2 Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. It was adhered down with more foam squares.

Altenew | Craft-A-Flower Cosmos Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today for the release of the Craft-A-Flower Cosmos Layering Die Set. I am beginning to fall in love with these layering die sets! You can use them in so many different ways. I simply cut mine from Gradient Cardstock (which you can buy as part of a bundle with the die set) but you can ink blend them, watercolour them - the sky's the limit!

We are celebrating the release with a fun inspiration and prize filled blog hop. More details on the hop below :)

I started off my card by die cutting the flower heads from the Altenew Craft-A-Flower Cosmos Layering Die Set from Altenew Shades of Purple Gradient Cardstock Set, the centres of flowers were cut from two shades of yellow cardstock from the Altenew Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock Set. The leaves were then simply cut from one of the shades in the Altenew Green Meadows Gradient Cardtsock Set. I layered up the flower heads, adhering the layers with Altenew 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen

I took an A2 white card base and scored lines in to the front using a score board and the Altenew Crafter's Essential Bone Folder (this bone folder has a beautiful sharp tip to it so it is perfect for embossing like this). The leaves were added to the card with glue pen. The flower heads were then added on top with foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Altenew Wallpaper Arts Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Sparkling Clear sequins.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Easter Blessings

Hello there, happy Clearly Besotted release day! The February 2021 release hits the shops tonight at 8pm GMT (UK time) but before that, I have one last teaser to share with you combining four different sets from the release. As mentioned, the Clearly Contained range work perfectly together in the containers but I wanted to show that you can use them well outside of the containers too!

I started off my tag by die cutting the Clearly Besotted Tag Along Die Collection tag three times - once from white cardstock, once from blue polka dot paper and once from green polka dot paper (from the MFT Summertime Polka Dot Paper Pad). The green piece was cut down further using the side of the tag (to get the stitching lines) and added on top of the blue piece for the grass. The blue tag was then added on to the back of the white one. I also cut the hole reinforcer from green paper too.

I took the little chick from the Clearly Besotted Clearly Contained Cuties Stamp Set and stamped it on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped one of the floral stems from the Clearly Besotted Clearly Contained Cuts Stamp Set, along with the butterfly from the Clearly Besotted Clearly Contained Contents Stamp Set. The images were coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut out with scissors.

I took the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Ring Around Spring Stamp Set and stamped that on to the tag. The images were then added on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Wish Big

Hello there and welcome to day four of the Clearly Besotted February 2021 Teasers. Release day is tomorrow but I still have two teasers to share with you! For my card today, I am using the new Wonderful Wishes set. This set is so beautiful! It contains a lot of adorable critters floating away on dandelions!

I started off my card by stamping the bunny holding the dandelion from the Clearly Besotted Wonderful Wishes Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured her using Copic Markers, adding dot detail to the dandelion with Copics, as well as Copic Spica (glitter) Pens. She was fussy cut out with scissors and set aside while I worked on my background.

I took a panel of watercolour paper and placed the Clearly Besotted Cloudy Day Stencil on top, securing with memo tape. I then blended on clouds using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and a blending brush. I moved the stencil down as I went. I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold. I then splattered it with water, as well as Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and set it aside to dry.

Once dry, I took the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Wonderful Wishes Stamp Set and stamped it on to the background using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with foam tape and the bunny added on top with more foam tape. To finish off, I added Lucy's Bubbles around the bunny.

Altenew | Love & Friendship Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

*This is my second post of the day, please see below for my Clearly Besotted teaser*

Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today to celebrate the Love & Friendship Collection for February 2021. It is a wonderful collection including stamps, stencils, embossing folders and dies and I am using a few different sets on my cards today. More information on the blog hop below.

For my first card, I am using the new Altenew Tall Foliage Stamp Set. This is a beautiful, simple foliage set with tall stems - perfect for slimline cards but works well with standard sized cards too. I started off by stamping the leaves stamp from the set on to white cardstock with Altenew Obsidian Ink. I then cut it out using the Altenew Tall Foliage Die Set

I took a sheet of masking paper and die cut one of the circle dies from the Altenew Halftone Circles Nesting Die Set to create a mask. The mask was placed on top of a white slimline card card base (8.5" x 3.5") and then I blended on Altenew Sweet Dreams Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cubes (Aqualicious) with the Altenew Blending Tool. The foliage image was added on top with foam tape.

I took the sentiment from the Altenew Tall Foliage Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Moonstones.

My next card uses the beautiful new Queen Anemone set, as well as the wonderful Tall Alpha Lowercase set. I started off by stamping the anemone flower heads from the Altenew Queen Anemone Stamp Set using Altenew Glacier Caves Crisp Dye Ink Cube Set (Arctic, Persian Blue and Sapphire). I then added a small amount of Butternut from the Altenew Fall Harvest Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set for the middle.

For the leaves, I used Altenew Green Fields Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set (Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades). They were then cut out using the coordinating dies from the Altenew Queen Anemone Die Set and set aside while I stamped the sentiment on to my card base. I took an A2 white card base (5.5" x 4.25") and stamped out the letters from the Altenew Tall Alpha Lowercase Stamp Set using Altenew Obsidian Ink

The letters are cut out as squares, so they are easy to line up to create words. I took the anemone leaves and adhered them flat to the card base using Altenew 2 in 1 Glue Pen. I then added the flowers on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Lucy's Bubbles.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Keep On Swimming

Hello there and welcome to day three of the Clearly Besotted Teasers. Not long to wait for the new release now, the new sets release on Friday, 5th February 2021. For my card today, I am back with the Clearly Contained set, that I shared on Thursday for day one. This time, I am pairing it with the Clearly Contained Contents. As the name suggests, the set is filled with fabulous items that can be inside the containers, or again some can be used separately too.

I started off by stamping the round vase/bowl image from the Clearly Besotted Clearly Contained Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped the fish image from the Clearly Besotted Clearly Contained Contents Stamp Set inside. I made a mask for the fish and then stamped the plants on top (I think these are supposed to be succulents, but I have made them into water plants for my card!). The mask was removed and the image coloured to look like a fish bowl. It was then fussy cut out with scissors.

I took a panel of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment on to it from the Clearly Besotted Dive Right In Stamp Set, using more Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I took the Clearly Besotted Round & Round Stencil and masked off individual circles so that I could add them to the card to look a bit like bubbles. Once masked off, the circles were blended using Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks.

The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with foam tape. I then added the fish bowl on top with more foam tape. To finish off, I added white gel pen highlights to the fish bowl and added Lucy's Cards Raindrops around the bubbles.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Ring Around Spring

Hello there and welcome to day two of the Clearly Besotted February 2021 Teasers. Today I am using the new Ring Around Spring Stamp Set. As with the others in the Ring Around series, this set features a beautiful wreath, along with cute critters that can be sitting on it or can be used separately. I just decided to use the wreath alone for my card today.

I started off by stamping the wreath from the Clearly Besotted Ring Around Spring Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. It was coloured with Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area for reference) and then fussy cut out with scissors.

I took a panel of white cardstock and blended Distress Inks on to it, fading to white at the bottom. I used Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade. I then splattered on Arteza White Gouache and set it aside to dry. Once dry, it was adhered flat to an A2 white card base with tape runner and the wreath added on top with foam tape.

I took the sentiment from the same set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied WOW Bright White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few sequins (sadly now discontinued from Lucy's Cards).

It is very unlike me to use yellow for a background but I thought it worked well with the wreath. For more inspiration using the new sets, please head over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Keren, Lisa and our wonderful guests Mindy and Rina. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Hero Arts | February 2021 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

*This is my second post of the day, please see below for my Clearly Besotted Teaser*

Hello there and welcome as we celebrate the release of the Hero Arts February 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit and add-ons. The kit this month has a wonderful Hawaii/beach theme to it and it's giving me summer vibes! We are celebrating the release with a fun blog hop. For the hop, you should have arrived here from the amazing Maria but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.

For my first project, I am using the wonderful sea turtles and fish from the kit stamp set. I adore turtles and would love to swim with them in the ocean one day! I started off my card by stamping the turtles and fish on to white cardstock using Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink. I then coloured them with Copic Markers and die cut the turtles using the coordinating dies in the kit. There isn't a die for the fish, so I simply fussy cut them out with scissors.

Next, I took a panel of Yupo paper and blended Alcohol Inks on to it, moving the inks around with Alcohol Ink Blending Solution and an air blower. I used Tim Holtz Aqua, Turquoise, Mermaid and Patina Alcohol Inks. The piece was left to dry and then adhered on to a top folding A2 card base with a little cut off the edge (I had planned on a different design but it didn't work so the card ended up being 4" x 5.5").

The turtles and fish were added on to the card with foam tape. The sentiment, from the same kit stamp set was stamped on to Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock with Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Hero Arts Clear Enamel Dots

My next project uses the floral images in the stamp set. Hibiscus definitely make me think of Hawaii and all the gorgeous tropical colours! I started off by stamping the flowers and leaves on to white cardstock using Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink. They were coloured with Copic Markers and cut out using the coordinating dies in the kit.

I took the second smallest of the Hero Arts Nesting Tag Infinity Dies and die cut it from watercolour paper. I blended on Hero Arts Reactive Inks in Taffy, Creamsicle and Lemon Drop and splattered on some water for the reaction. I also die cut the hole reinforcer from black cardstock and adhered that on top.

The flowers were adhered to the tag using Hero Arts Precision Glue and foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, heat embossed it, cut out out and added it to the tag with more foam tape. To finish off, I added twine through the top of the tag and Hero Arts Enamel Dots from the Sunset and Pinks sets.
