Butterfly Transformation

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you that I made back in October. I did peek it in a haul video, so you may have seen it if you watch them, but I am only now just getting around to blogging it! It uses the beautiful Transformation stamp from The Ton.

I started off by stamping the big butterfly from The Ton Transformation Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured it using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and fussy cut out with scissors. I took a white panel of cardstock and die cut the Reverse Confetti Stitched Rays Cover Panel on to it. This was added to the front of an A2 white card base with tape runner.

The butterfly was then added on top at an angle, using foam tape. I took the sentiment from the MFT Birdie Brown Greetings Galore Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added white gel pen dots to the butterfly and Lucy's Iridescent Jewels around it.

Fresh Cut Sunflower

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the beautiful Fresh Cut Sunflower (outlines) stamp set from The Ton. I kept debating on what medium to colour it with, I went with Copic Markers I the end and created a whole coloured panel.

I started off by stamping the sunflower on to a panel of white cardstock, which was cut using the ME femme frame rectangle die. The sunflower pieces are separate, so I masked off as I went to create the image I was after. I then took the sentiment from the Graceful Rose set and stamped this beside the sunflower.

I first coloured the sunflower stem and head with Copics and then coloured the background. I used various shades of blues for the background, making the colour slightly darker towards the sunflower itself. Once the background was coloured I went in with the colourless blender and added dots to it. I think this gives a nice texture and adds some interest. The panel was then simply adhered to a white A2 card base with foam tape.

I snapped a photo on my phone while I was working on the background and since it doesn't show up well on my brighter photographs, I thought I would show you this one too. It shows the effect on the background much better.

VIDEO | The Ton Mini Haul

Hello there, I recently made an order from The Ton. I didn't get much but I thought I would still share with you what I got. I have been using a lot of critter images recently and I really wanted to get some new floral images.

I saw that The Ton released some gorgeous new ones so I decided to put in a little order. As you will see in the video, I went with outline images. I love the colour/stamp layering ones but I really wanted to do some colouring with them. Here is what I got:

Colour Pencils on Dark Cardstock

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you that I made back in November last year for my friend Kari's Birthday. After making the card I quickly took a photo so that I could sent the card off to her. Well, the photos turned out awful! I decided that I wasn't going to end up sharing the card because of that but three months later, I have changed my mind. I really like how the card turned out so please just forgive the poor photos!

I started off by taking a piece of black cardstock and cutting it using a SSS Stitched Rectangle die. I then stamped the Graceful Rose image from The Ton on to it using white pigment ink. The image was coloured with colour pencils. I used a mixture of Polychromos and Coloursoft pencils, as well as the Caran d'Ache Luminance White.

The panel was adhered flat to a black A2 card base with tape runner. The sentiment, was printed out from my PC, cut in to a strip and added to the card using foam tape. To finish off, I added a few sequins from The Ton.

PENCILS: Flower - Polychromos 156, 153, 246, Coloursoft C380, Luminance 001. Leaves - Polychromos 171, 112, 163, 158, Luminance 001.

Again, I apologise for the photos but I love how the coloured pencils work against the black cardstock. The Graceful Rose image is just stunning too. Thanks so much for popping in today. I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy 40th Birthday

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for a friend to celebrate her 40th Birthday. I had originally planned on making a card with a big 40 on it but I decided to go for the more subtle version and add the 40 on the sentiment.

I started off by stamping the Lucky Tulip stamp by The Ton on to a piece of white cardstock. It was stamped using MFT Grout Gray ink, which is a great ink for the no-line colouring look. I then coloured the image using Polychromos pencils. The panel was adhered to a black A2 card base with foam sheet.

I typed the sentiment out on my computer and printed it on to cardstock. This was then cut out and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few PPP Sparkling Clear sequins.

POLYCHROMOS - Flower Head: Light Flesh 132, Medium Flesh 131, Rose Carmine 124, Dark Red 225. Leaves: Earth Green Yellowish 168, Juniper Green 165, Pine Green 267.

A very simple card as you can see, but it did take me a while to colour that flower! I hope my friend likes it. Thank you so much for visiting me today. I hope you are having a great week.

VIDEO | Creating A Night Sky Background

Hello there, today I have a card to share using distress inks to create a night sky background. I also used the fab Pyrotechnics stamp set from The Ton to create some fireworks.

For my card, I started off with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock cut using the largest of the SSS Stitched Rectangle dies. I took Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot and blended these over the piece using a blending tool. The panel was then set aside to dry.

Once dry I stamped the fireworks from The Ton's Pyrotechnics stamp set on to it using Versamark ink. I applied Tonic Nuvo Shimmering Pearl Glitter Embossing Powder and heat set them. I took the sentiment, from The Ton's Lucky Tulip stamp set, and stamped this on to a piece of black cardstock, again with Versamark ink. I applied Nuvo Glacier White embossing powder and heat set this. Once cool, I cut it down.

The background piece was added to an A2 black card base with foam tape. I then added the sentiment piece with foam tape also. To finish off, I added PPP Sparling Clear sequins with Multi Medium Matte.

Here is the video showing how I made the card:

I am really like how the card came out, that Shimmering Pearl embossing powder is really beautiful in real life. I love the subtleness of the glitter - so pretty! I mentioned in the video that I not think it matters which way round the fireworks go, the one on the right does bother me a bit but never mind! I shall live with it and I am sure whoever gets the card will still like it. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have  a great day and a fabulous week!
