Hero Arts | Big Hugs

Hello there, today I have two cards to share using the new Beary Sweet collection from Hero Arts + Carly Tee. I love the Big Hugs sets (both the die and stamp set) so that is what I am focussing on today. These cards are extremely clean and simple but I do like how they turned out!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

For my first card, I started off by die cutting the hugs die from Hero Arts Big Hugs Die Set onto a panel of white cardstock. I then cut the panel down using one of the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies. I stamped the 'no words, just' above the hugs aperture from the Hero Arts Big Hugs Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink

I die cut the Hero Arts Sentiments Strips Fancy Die from Spellbinders Fairy Tale, Lavender and Lilac ColorWheel Cardstock. The strips were adhered to the front of a US A2 sized card base, making sure to cut them down to fit behind the panel. The panel was then adhered on top using thin foam tape. I die cut the smallest Hero Arts Nesting Hearts Infinity Die from Spellbinders Lavender ColorWheel Cardstock and adhered it below the 'u' to finish.

Since Carly is the queen of shakers, especially flat ones, I thought it was only right to create one for my second card! I die cut the hugs die from Hero Arts Big Hugs Die Set onto a panel of white cardstock. I then stamped the 'enclosed' from Hero Arts Big Hugs Stamp Set using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink onto the panel around the end of the 's'.

I made a shaker pocket from stamp packaging and added Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Chunky Glitter inside. I then closed it up and adhered it to the front of a US A2 sized card base made from Spellbinders Lilac ColorWheel Cardstock. The panel was then adhered on top. To finish, I added a teeny Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essentials Gem at the end of 'enclosed'.

The rest of the collection is super cute too; it features gummy bears and sweets, hence the name Beary Sweet! I apologise for the poor photos, sadly the sun seems to have disappeared from London this week so far! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a great day!

Spellbinders | Stripe Right Dragonfly

Hello there, I'm delighted to be over on the Spellbinders Blog sharing a step-by-step card tutorial using the new Stripe Right Etched Dies. This die cuts four stripes of different thicknesses and is 6" tall so the stripes can be used vertically or horizontally (or diagonally like I have!) on an A2 card base.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I paired the Spellbinders Stripe Right Etched Dies with the older Spellbinders Soaring Dragonfly Etched Dies. I kept the dragonfly white and added the colour to the card with the stripes. The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Lasting Impressions Clear Stamp Set which was heat embossed and cut into a strip. I finished off with Spellbinders Prism AB Color Essentials Gems for the dragonfly's eyes.

VIDEO | Mastering the Art of Monochrome

Hello there, today I have a card to share where I am trying to master the art of monochrome. I often keep to a minimal colour palette when creating anyway, but it was really nice to challenge myself to keep to just one colour but add in multiple shades of that colour with ink blending and alcohol marker colouring.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my card by stamping the image from the Altenew Charming Flowers Stamp Set onto Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then die cut out using the Altenew Charming Flowers Die Set

I added simple colouring to the image using Altenew Cottage Garden Artist Alcohol Marker Set N using just C027 Dusty Pink in the shadows and blended out with Y803 Strawberry to blend with the colour of the cardstock. I die cut another of the flower die from the same cardstock and adhered it to the back of the stamped one for stability.

I die cut two tags from Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock using the Altenew Terrific Tags Die Set. I added ink blending to one using Altenew Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Inks (Dusty Pink & Blush Rose) using an Altenew Mini Blending Brush. The other tag was adhered behind and Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord threaded through the top and tied in a bow.

I took a panel of Altenew Crafty Necessities: Sandy Blush Cardstock and splattered it with Altenew Titanium White Artists' Gouache mixed with a little water. Once dry, it was adhered to a white US A2 sized card base with Glue Tape. The tag was then adhered on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape, followed by the flower image on top.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew Charming Flowers Stamp Set onto the same Sandy Blush Cardstock and die cut it into a strip. It was adhered to the card with more foam tape. To finish, I embellished with Altenew Peony Gold Stellar Sequins

I really love how this card came out. I wouldn't usually go for this colour, a sandy blush colour, but I really like how it turned out! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp | Blooming Wreath

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the new Simon Says Stamp Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder which was released as part of the In My Heart release. This is such a pretty embossing folder and can be used in lots of ways. For today, I just did simple ink blending.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my card by placing a panel of white cardstock inside the Simon Says Stamp Blooming Wreath Embossing Folder and running it through my die cutting machine. I then added ink blending on top using Altenew Glacier Caves Fresh Dye Inks. I tried to keep the outsides dark and the centre of the wreath light.

To highlight the wreath a little, I pounced Altenew Cloud White Pigment Ink on top, using a Blending Tool. I then placed it inside my splat box and liberally sprayed on Altenew Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray before setting it aside to dry.

Once dry, it was adhered to a US A2 sized white cardstock with tape runner. I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp YOU Die four times from white cardstock. I adhered them one on top of another and then onto the card. I stamped the 'are the best' from the Simon Says Stamp You Matter Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink

It was cut into a strip using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels 2.0 Dies and the edges cut down using using a guillotine. It was then adhered below the 'you' using thin foam squares. To finish, I embellished with Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins

VIDEO | Using Press Plates for a Subtle Background with Pinkfresh Studio

Hello there, I am delighted to be over on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube Channel today sharing a card using the Couture Grace suite, along with Darling District Press Plate for the background. I wanted there to be something in the background but did not want to distract from the focal point. Pressing is a great way to do this!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my card by stamping the girl from Pinkfresh Studio Couture Grace Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Pinkfresh Studio Detail Black Hybrid Ink. I used the coordinating stencils to colour the image using ink blending and Pinkfresh Studio 1/2" Blending Brushes

Stencil 1 for the skin uses Peach Fuzz Ink.
Stencil 2 for the hair uses Gathered Twigs Ink.
Stencils 3, 5 & 6 uses Detail Black Ink for the dress, shoes and bow.

I missed out stencil 4.

She was die cut out using the Pinkfresh Studio Couture Grace Die

For the background, I placed the buildings plate from the Pinkfresh Studio Darling District Press Plate set onto the Chase (magnetic plate) of my Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress System. I placed a panel of white cardstock on top, followed by a panel of scrap watercolour paper. I then placed the Platen (top clear plate) on top and ran it through my die cutting machine. I added ink blending to the panel using Hydrangea and Opulence Inks using a Pinkfresh Studio 1" Blending Brush

The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base using glue tape. The girl was adhered on top with thin foam tape. I stamped a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio Step into Style Stamp Set using Pinkfresh Studio Detail Black Hybrid Ink, die cut it out and adhered it to the card using Pinkfresh Studio Precision Clear Craft Glue on the right and foam tape on the left. To finish, I embellished with Pinkfresh Studio Iridescent Dew Drops

As mentioned in the video, I used the BetterPress System for the pressing today, but this can be done in any die cutting machine. You would just want to play around with the thickness of the sandwich. I would start with one you would use to deboss dies (with a silicone mat) and go from there. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it.

Simon Says Stamp | Thanks a Latte

Hello there, today I have a tag to share using products from the new Simon Says Stamp In My Heart release, which is out now. They kindly sent me a few products including the Thanks a Latte Stamp Set, along with the Scalloped Arches Frames Dies, which I am using today.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my tag by die cutting one of the Simon Says Stamp Scalloped Arches Frames Dies twice from white cardstock. I then cut a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of one of the arches. The other arch was then adhered on top, sandwiching the acetate in-between.

I stamped one of the images from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks a Latte Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. It was coloured using Copic Markers and Polychromos Pencils. I then fussy cut it out using scissors, but there are dies available. It was adhered onto the arch piece using foam tape.

I stamped a sentiment from the same set onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and het set. It was cut into a strip using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Labels 2.0 Dies. I cut the edges down slightly and then punched a hole in the top.

I punched a hole in the top of the arch (using a Crop-A-Dile) and then threaded black twine through it, popping the sentiment piece on too. The twine was then tied in a bow. To finish, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the heart on the cup.

Spellbinders | Thank You Flowers

Hello there, I hope you are well! I am delighted to be over on the Spellbinders Blog today, sharing a step by step photo tutorial using the Spellbinders Upright Italic Everyday Sentiments Collection by Paul Antonio. These sentiments (there are three in the collection) are pretty large, so fill a card nicely and create a great focal point. I paired mine with flowers.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

The peek above shows the card I made using the Spellbinders Upright Italic Thank You! Press + Foil Plate, which I pressed using BetterPress Black Ink. I then paired it with Spellbinders Club Blooms Etched Dies (I love this set!) in aqua tones (and green for the leaves) Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock. I embellished with Spellbinders Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems

Spellbinders | Unstoppable

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the Spellbinders March 2026 Small Die of the Month Club Kit called 'Unstopable'. It features a superwoman, clouds and some sentiments. I paired it with the Embossing Folder of the Month Club Kit, as I thought it worked great for a galaxy/night sky background.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the woman from the Spellbinders March 2026 Small Die of the Month Club Kit from Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock. I die cut the skin from Alabaster, the hair from Truffle, the dress from Lavender, and the shoes, gloves and cape from Lilac. The crown and trim were die cut from Silver Glitter Treasured Cardstock

I adhered the pieces together using Bearly Art Glue. I then placed a panel of Spellbinders Raven ColorWheel Cardstock into the Spellbinders March 2026 Embossing Folder of the Month and ran it through my die cutting machine. It was then splattered with a mixture of Spellbinders Silver Pearl Watercolor and water and set aside to dry.

Once dry, it was adhered to a black US A2 sized card base. I die cut the clouds from the Spellbinders March 2026 Small Die of the Month Club Kit from Spellbinders Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock and adhered the first two using thin foam tape, the two on top were adhered using liquid glue. I cut off the excess from the bottom using scissors.

I adhered the superwoman on top with thin foam tape. I hot foiled the sentiment from Spellbinders Ideal Moments Press Plate + Die Set onto black cardstock using Spellbinders Silver Glimmer Hot Foil Roll and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card using thin foam tape.

Altenew | Watercoloured Darling Dahlias

Hello there, today I have a tag to share using the new Altenew Lush Terra Watercolor Compact, which is a collaboration with The Mint Gardener. These compacts feature six watercolour paints in pans. They come in a beautiful metal palette and there is space for mixing in the lid. These paints are semi-transparent. The greens/blues in this set are similar to gouache in consistency.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off my tag buy die cutting the petals and leaves from the Altenew Darling Dahlia Layering Die Set from Altenew Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper. I mixed the Altenew Watercolor Compact - Lush Terra paints with water and using Altenew Artists' Watercolor Foundation Brushes, applied the colour to the die-cuts before setting them aside to dry. I used Violet Nightshade for the petals, and Sea Glass & Emerald Cedar for the leaves.

Once dry, the flowers were assembled using liquid glue. Instead of using the die-cut flower centres, I used an Altenew Ivory Pearl Dot instead.

I die cut an Altenew Nesting Arches Die from white cardstock and cut a hole in the top using the Altenew Labels & Tags 1 Die Set to create a tag. The flowers and leaves were adhered on top using liquid glue. I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew Build-A-Garden: Posh Petals, cut it into a strip and adhered it to the tag using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish, I added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow, followed by embellishing with more Altenew Ivory Pearl Dots

Because these watercolours are semi-transparent, I was able to build up the colour on the die-cuts quite easily. I used Lush Terra compact today which features musted tones, but there are other compacts available with different colour palettes too. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

VIDEO | Hot Foiling & Stencilling Daffodils & Tulips

Hello there, today I have a card and video to share using Yana's Tulips Collection from Spellbinders. I am hot foiling and stencilling the Tulips & Daffodils Press + Foil Plate and the image is oh so pretty! Lots of different colour combinations could be used here, but I went with traditional yellow daffodils and pink tulips!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by hot foiling the Spellbinders Tulips & Daffodils Press + Foil Plate onto white cardstock using Spellbinders Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil and the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I then placed the coordinating stencils over the top, one by one, to add ink blending to the image using blending brushes.

I used Altenew Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Inks (all four shades) for the daffodils, Altenew Bubblegum Dreams Fresh Dye Inks (Baby Pink, Fuchsia & Magenta) for the Tulips, and Altenew Green Valley Fresh Dye Inks (Firefly, Grass Field & Shadow Creek) for the leaves and stems.

The panel was then cut into an oval using the largest Spellbinders Essential Stylish Ovals Etched Dies. I cut another panel of white cardstock using the same die and cut a little off the bottom using a guillotine. I then scored a line towards the top to create a hinge. I added adhesive to the hinge and adhered it to the back of the foiled panel to create the card base.

I hot foiled the sentiment from the Spellbinders Bouquet of Hugs Sentiments Press + Foil Plate + Die Set onto white cardstock using the same Spellbinders Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil. It was die cut out using the coordinating die and adhered to the card using thin foam tape. To finish, I embellished with Spellbinders Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems

Spellbinders | 3D Egg

Hello there, today I have another felt plushie to share with you. I have really been enjoying making these! This one is the 3D Eggs and Flowers by Sandi MacIver for Spellbinders. The eggs can be decorated with the flowers but you can also add the flowers onto Fergus too! I decided to make the larger of the two eggs in the set but I am hoping to get time to make the smaller one at some point too!

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure.

I started off by die cutting the egg sides (four) and the base from the Spellbinders 3D Eggs & Flowers Etched Dies from Pansy felt from the Spellbinders Cool Merino Wool Felt Sheets Pack. I then used DMC Floss in 155 to sew it together. I followed Sandi's amazing video tutorial and before closing it up, I filled it.

I used polyester filling for the top part of the egg and plastic pellets for the bottom. These have some weight to them, so keep it standing upright. I then closed it up. Sandi uses crushed up walnuts (also known as lizard litter), but I couldn't find any of those!

I die cut the leaves and stems from Aquamarine felt from the Spellbinders Cool Merino Wool Felt Sheets Pack and added stitching to the leaves using DMC 958 floss. I adhered them to the egg first using hot glue. I die cut the daffodil petals from Snow felt from the Spellbinders Holiday Merino Wool Felt Sheets Pack (twice for each flower) and adhered them together, again using hot glue.

The centres were die cut from Beeswax felt from the Spellbinders Classic Pooh Merino Wool Felt Sheets Pack and rolled up (I found the Spellbinders Reverse Tweezers helpful for this) and adhered together using hot glue, before adhering to the centre of the flowers. The flower heads were then adhered to the egg using hot glue.
