Clearly Besotted Teasers | Brushed Butterflies

Hello there and welcome to day four of the August Clearly Besotted Teasers. Not long to wait now, the new sets will be available to purchase tomorrow at 8pm BST. For my card today, I am using the new Brushed Butterflies set along with the Say Something set that I used a couple of days ago. The Brushed Butterflies set is a fabulous stamp layering set but there is also an outline image, which is what I used today.

I started off by stamping one of the outline butterflies from the Brushed Butterflies set on to watercolour paper six times using Versaamrk Ink. I applied Detail White Embossing Powder and heat. I then took Distress Inks in rainbow shades and blended the inks over the butterflies, having them slightly darker at the bottom. I then fussy cut them out with scissors but there are dies available to purchase.

I took a white card base and added a strip of MFT Black & White paper on the bottom. I then added a panel of white cardstock over the top of the card and added a black strip to the bottom of that. The butterflies were then added on top using tape runner.

I took the sentiment from the Say Something set and stamped this on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Raindrops around the sentiment strip.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Have A Wonderful Day

Hello there and welcome to day three of the August Clearly Besotted Teasers. The new sets release on Wednesday, 1st August. I hope you are enjoying the teasers so far. Today I am using the new On Your Bike set. This is such a cute set filled with critters that can ride the bike as well as critters to fit in the trailer. As you will see with my card, I went in a bit of a different direction!

I started off by stamping the little critters on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured them with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out (there are coordinating dies available). I then took a panel of white cardstock and cut this from the largest of the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies. I blended over a faint layer of Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on to the panel.

I took the 'have a wonderful day' sentiment from the On Your Bike set and stamped this towards the bottom of the panel. I die cut the Winnie & Walter Hello die three times from white cardstock and stacked these up with liquid glue. For the top layer, I blended over Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink, making it darker at the bottom. The critters were added in place with tape runner and then the die cut word added on top with liquid glue. The panel was then added to an A2 white card base.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Just A Note

Hello there and welcome to day two of the August Clearly Besotted Teasers. For my card today, I am using the new I Do Day set. This is one of the smaller stamp sets and it consists of a beautiful rose image, along with some fabulous sentiments which would be perfect for a wedding day card. Since I didn't need a wedding card, I thought I would make a little note card with it.

I started off by creating the background for the rose. I took a panel of watercolour paper and die cut this using a SSS Stitched Rectangle die. I then smooshed various Distress Inks on to a palette (so that I could use them as watercolours) and taking a flat paintbrush and water, painted stripes on to the panel in rainbow colours. This was then set aside to dry.

Once dry, I stamped the rose image from the I Do Day Stamp Set on to this using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The panel was adhered to a 4" x 5.25" black card base with foam sheet and DST. I then took the sentiment from the Tiny Type set and stamped this on to a scrap of watercolour paper using the same black ink. This was added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Ice Cube Jewels.

Hello there and welcome to the start of the Clearly Besotted Teasers for August! The new stamps and dies release on the 1st August at 8pm BST and from now until then, the Design Team will be sharing teasers with you. For my card today, I am using the new Hello Cupcake set along with the new Say Something set. Yes, the hippos are back! :)

I started off by stamping the hippos from the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them using Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and then fussy cut them out with scissors (but there are dies available). These were then set aside while I worked on the background.

I took an A2 white card base and using the MFT Radiating Rays Stencil, I blended ink rays on to the card. I used Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks with ink daubers. I then took a panel of white cardstock and cut this using a cloud border die from CraftStash. I took one of the sentiments from the new Say Something Stamp Set (a fabulous sentiment set) and stamped this on to the bottom of the panel. This was then adhered to the card base with foam tape.

The hippos were added with more foam tape. I then added dots of glitter to the cupcakes with Copic Spica pens for some added sparkle. I also added chunky confetti glitter to the background for even more sparkle and shine.

You Are Amazing, Remember That

Hello there, today I am using the beautiful new Sketch Lotus Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, released as part of their new Friendly Frolic release. It is a beautiful set with a lovely arrangement of lotus flowers, plus lots of fabulous sentiments.

I started off by die cutting the scallop frame from the SSS Frames Die Collection from white cardstock. I die cut this four times and layered up the frames. I then took the inside piece and stamped the lotus flower image on to it using black ink. The image was coloured using Copic Markers for the base layer and then I added some detail with Polychromos pencils (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section).

I adhered the image panel on to an A2 white card base with tape runner and then added the four stacked frames around it with liquid glue. I took one of the sentiments from the set and stamped this on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was then cut in to a strip and I cut a banner/ribbon end on to one side. This was then added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Moonshine sequins.

Hey Friend + Giveaway

Hello there, today I have another card to share using a wonderful stamp set from Tracey Hey and Alpaca Pals. This time I am using the adorable Hey Cutie set.

I started off by stamping the elephant on to white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured her using Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and fussy cut her out with scissors. I stamped the sentiment on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink and applied white embossing powder and heat set. These were then cut in to strips.

When I made this card, I created a couple of extra backgrounds so I thought it would be good to use for this card. The background was made by embossing the SSS Stained Glass 1 Stencil and adding Dr. Ph. Martin's Radiant Watercolours on top. The background piece was then die cut using a SSS Stitched Rectangle Die and then adhered to a white 4.5" x 4.5" card base with foam sheet and DST. I added the elephant and sentiments on top with thin foam squares. To finish off, I added Aqua Shimmer Pen and Crystal Glaze to the heart on her top.

Hello there, today I have a card to share using stamps from a new company - Alpaca Pals. These stamps are designed by the amazing artist Tracey Hey who has an alpaca farm down in Dorset (hence the name!). Tracey kindly sent me some of her stamps to play with, so I will be sharing some cards with them this week and I'll have a giveaway at the end of the week too.

My first card uses the fabulous Koality Stamp Set. I took a panel of white cardstock and stamped the koala in the tree image with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then die cut the panel using a SSS Stitched Rectangle die. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped this below the koala.

The image was then coloured using Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section). The panel was simply added to a black A2 card base with foam sheet and DST.

Waving Hello From My Treehouse

Hello there, today I have another card using stamps from Purple Onion Designs. The thing that I love most about the stamps from POD, is that you can create your own scenes using them easily. Today I have combined the Treehouse with Oscar (sitting fox), along with the snail from the Garden Bugs set.

I started off by stamping the treehouse on to a panel of white cardstock. This was then cut down using a SSS Stitched Square die before colouring with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section). The treehouse is actually a winter stamp, there is snow on the mushrooms/toadstools and also along some of the bottom of the tree trunk. Since I wanted a summer feel for my card, I tried to cover them up!

I then stamped and coloured the snail and fox images. These were fussy cut out and added to the panel with thin foam tape. The whole panel was then added to a 4.5" x 4.5" white card base with foam sheet and DST. I took the sentiment from the Journey Sentiments Set and stamped this with Versamark Ink on to black cardstock. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip and added to the card with more thin foam tape.

I realised after I had taken the photo, that I forgot to add the white dots on to the mushroom/toadstool. I have done that now! All stamps over at Purple Onion Designs are now 25% off until the 22nd July 2018. Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today, I hope you have a great rest of the weekend!

Peep + POD Sale News

Hello there, today I am using the super cute Peep stamp, along with the Blossoming Perch from Purple Onion Designs. They are so sweet together!

I started off by stamping the branch on to a panel of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement (since the stamps are red rubber), I stamped the bird (known as Peep) so that he is standing on the branch. I then stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Occasions Sentiments set below.

The images were coloured using Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and I added a few details and highlights with a white gel pen. The panel was then simply added to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST.

Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, I am delighted to be taking part in the Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop today. We are all focusing on colouring with Altenew Artist Markers. As you may know, I love colouring. I also suffer with some health conditions and I find that it really is a form of therapy for me.

My card uses the beautiful Fresh Freesia set. I started off by stamping the image on to a panel of white cardstock with Fog ink. I wanted a light ink for a no-line look. Using the Altenew Artist Markers Set A (I used just the blues and greens from the set), I coloured the image in, adding the darker colour first and blending out with the lighter. I only used two shades for each section (the exact colours are listed below the supplies section).

I took a bit of artistic licence with using blues for the petals, but I just love blue flowers, even if most of them only exist in my imagination! The sentiment from the set was stamped using black ink and then the panel was added to an A2 white card base with foam sheet and DST. To finish off, I added a few sequins around the image.

Congrats

Hello there, today I have a card to share using the Pink Avenue stamp set and dies from Pink & Main. It is such a cute set filled with little images to create street/house scenes. I thought the little car/vehicle and trees would make a cute little card for someone who has just passed their driving test.

I started off by stamping the car and trees using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to white cardstock. These were coloured with Copic Markers (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section) and die cut with the coordinating Pink Avenue dies. I took a panel of white cardstock and added a strip of post-it tape to mask off a section to create a sky. I took Broken China Distress Oxide ink and softly blended this above the tape.

The tape was removed and the sentiment (I had to do some masking to get the congrats word only) stamped towards the top. I then added the panel to a white A2 card base with foam sheet and DST. The car and trees were then added on top with a combination of foam tape and tape runner.
