Spellbinders | Spring Reflection

Hello there, today I have a card to share with you using the Spellbinders February 2023 Large Die of the Month Club Kit. This month is called Spring Reflection and like the name suggests, perfect for spring cards! There are lots of dies in this kit (some of which I have not used) so the possibilities are endless!

I started off by die cutting one of the floral/leaf background/base dies in the Spellbinders February 2023 Large Die of the Month Club Kit. These are made so that you can cut two and have them fit inside the oval shape (one at the top and one at the bottom facing each other). I cut it four times from Spellbinders Silver Fox Cardstock and layered them so that each piece was two die cuts high for some added dimension. I then cut the flower pieces from Spellbinders Waterfall, Teal Topaz and Snowdrift Cardstock. 

The flowers were assembled and adhered to the background/base pieces using Bearly Art Glue. I then die cut the oval from Spellbinders Snowdrift Cardstock and adhered the floral pieces on top. The oval piece was then adhered to a 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" Waterfall card base, with scoring lines on the front, using thin foam tape. 

I stamped the sentiment from the Spellbinders Sentiments For You Stamp Set on to Spellbinders Onyx Cardstock using Spellbinders Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was die cut out using the die in the kit and adhered to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added Spellbinders Opal Color Essentials Gems to the little flowers.

Hero Arts | My Monthly Hero February 2023 Release + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome as we celebrate the release of the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Kit and and add-on products. This month is all about butterflies! We also have the exciting launch of our new premium kit too. More on that later as well as blog hop information.

My first card today uses the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Kit Premium. I already shared a card using the Classic Kit, which you can see here. 

I started off my card by die cutting a Hero Arts Tag Infinity Die from Hero Arts Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. I then stamped the script stamp from the Hero Arts Background Texture Strips Stamp Set (an add-on set this month) on top, multiple times using Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. 

Using Hero Arts Ink Blending Brushes, I first blended on Hero Arts Splash Reactive Ink. I then added Hero Arts Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink, just in some parts for some added interest. I took the Butterfly Hero Transfers that are in the Premium Kit and applied them to Hero Arts Classic Vellum Layering Paper. I die cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the tag with tiny dabs of Hero Arts Precision Glue behind their bodies only. 

I took the sentiment from the kit stamp set (part of a larger sentiment) and stamped it on to Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock using Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the tag with thin foam tape. I added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow before adhering the tag on to a US A2 sized white card base with more thin foam tape. 

My next card uses two of the new add-ons sets. I started off by die cutting the first layer of the Hero Arts Looking Glass Butterfly Die from a panel of white cardstock. I then cut the other two layers from Hero Arts Passion Flower and Amethyst Cardstock respectively. 

The panels were adhered together, adding a panel of Hero Arts Iris Cardstock as the back layer. The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with thin foam tape. I die cut the square frame from the Hero Arts Looking Glass Circle and Square Frames Die Set from white cardstock twice. 

I layered them up using Hero Arts Precision Glue before adhering to the card. I took the sentiment from the Hero Arts Monarch & Milkweed Stamp Set and stamped it on to Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock using Hero Arts Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Iridescent Bubbles.

VIDEO | MFT Colour Pencils on Black Cardstock

Hello there, I am up on the My Favorite Things YouTube channel today sharing a card using colour pencils on black cardstock. I haven't done this in a while, but I really like the look! Although colour pencil coluring can take some time, I do find it enjoyable, even if it did hurt my hand a little!

I started off by stamping the image from the MFT Gathered with Love Stamp Set on to a panel of MFT Black Licorice Cardstock using Hero Arts Dove White Core Ink. Since this ink is dye based, it dries pretty quickly, but I did give it a little helping hand with my heat tool. 

I then coloured the image using Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils. As you will see in the video, sometimes I added a layer of white pencil first, to make the colours more vibrant against the black cardstock and sometimes I did not. All of the colours that I used are listed below the supplies list for reference. 

The panel was adhered to a black US A2 sized card base with tape runner adhesive. I then stamped the sentiment from the set on to more Black Licorice cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card using black thin foam tape. To finish off, I added white gel pen dots and sparkles.

Hero Arts | February 2023 My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity

Hello there and welcome as we countdown to the release of the Hero Arts February 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit, which releases tomorrow, Monday, 6th February 2023.

As you may have seen, we are switching things up and there is now a classic kit and also a premium one. If you purchase or subscribe to the premium kit, you will receive the classic kit as well as extra products that work alongside the classic kit (or on their own). My card today uses the classic kit only. I started off by die cutting the die in the kit on to a panel of white cardstock. The die cuts the butterflies wings but does not cut them out fully. It does cut the middle section out and also the stars and moon. I placed the stencil on top and started ink blending to add colour to the butterflies and flowers. 

I used Passion Flower and Amethyst Core Inks for the butterflies, Paradise Core Ink for the leaves/stems and Mist and Aquatic Core Inks for the flowers. There is another stencil layer to add detail to the images but I decided to leave it off for my card today. 

On a panel of Iris Cardstock, I blended on Grape Juice and Pitch Black Core Inks. I splattered it with White Glimmer Metallic Ink and set it aside to dry. It was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base. I added foam tape to the back of the butterfly panel and then added silver glitter paper behind the stars and moon. The panel was then adhered to the card base. 

I stamped the 'thank you' from the kit stamp set on to white cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. I fussy cut it out with scissors and adhered it to the inside of the window with foam tape. To finish off, I added a few silver gems.

Altenew | February 2023 Boho Chic Release Blog Hop #2 + Giveaway

Hello there and welcome to the second of two blog hops to celebrate the release of the new Boho Chic Collection from Altenew. There were lots of new stamps, dies, stencils and more released yesterday and I have two projects to share with you using some of them.

My first card uses the new Altenew Swamp Buttercup Layering Stencil Set. This is a standalone stencil set but there is a coordinating die to cut it out. I started off by placing the stencils on top a panel of white cardstock (following the guide in the packaging) and using Altenew Small Ink Blending Tools, blended ink through the stencils. 

I used the three lightest shades from the Altenew Golden Sunset Crisp Dye Inks, as well as the three lightest Altenew Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks. It was then die cut out using the Altenew Swamp Buttercup Die. I took a US A2 sized white card base and added Altenew Green Valley A Gradient Washi Tape to the right hand side edge. 

The buttercups were adhered on top with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I die cut the 'hello' sentiment from the Altenew Wild Geranium Die Set using black cardstock for the word and white cardstock for the shadow. They were layered up and adhered to the card. I stamped a sentiment from the Altenew Wild Geranium Stamp Set on to white cardstock with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink, cut it into a strip and added it to the card. To finish, I added a few Raindrop embellishments. 

For my next project, I started off by stamping the Altenew Wild Geranium Stamp Set on to white cardstock using Altenew Rose Petal and Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks. It was die cut out using the Altenew Wild Geranium Die Set and set aside. 

I die cut a tag from the Altenew Terrific Tags Die Set and then embossed it using the new Altenew Rattan Stripes Die for some added texture. The geraniums were adhered on top. I stamped the 'hello' from the set using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink, die cut it out and adhered it on top. To finish off, I added Altenew Essentials Black & White Enamel Dots (just the black ones) and black twine through the top.

Clearly Besotted | Spring Has Sprung Teaser + February 2023 Release Preview Video

Hello there and happy Clearly Besotted release day to you! The February 2023 release hits the shops tonight at 8pm but I have one last teaser to share with you before the reveal. My tag today uses the super cute Chirpy Plushies set. This set features lots of cute chicks, along with other animals/characters.

I started off by die cutting the Clearly Besotted Tag Along Die Collection tag from white cardstock twice. On one, I stamped the corner image from the Clearly Besotted Chirpy Plushies Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. 

The image was coloured using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and then coloured the grass and sky with Copic Markers also, adding in some dots for added interest. The tag was adhered to the other tag back to back with tape runner adhesive. I cut the hole reinforcer from black cardstock and adhered that on top of the front tag. 

I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the tag using thin foam tape. I added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow. To finish off, I added a few white gel pen highlights to the image.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Happy Anniversary

Hello there and welcome to day four of the Clearly Besotted February 2023 Teasers. Release day is tomorrow, 1st February 2023 but I do still have two more teasers to share with you. For my card today, I am using the new Rain Down Line Up. This set is another set with an April Showers theme.

I started off my card by stamping the frogs image from the Clearly Besotted Rain Down Line Up Stamp Set on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The image is actually part of a larger stamp with another two frogs, but I masked those off to have just the two under the umbrella. They were coloured using Copic Markers and then fussy cut out with scissors. 

I die cut a panel of white cardstock using a Spellbinders Essential Hearts Etched Die. The Clearly Besotted Around About Stencil (the grass part) was placed at the bottom and then I added ink blending with Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Inks and blending brushes. 

For the sky, I first placed the Clearly Besotted In The Clouds Stencil on top and added ink blending with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I then placed the Clearly Besotted Lots of Love Stencil on top of that and blended on some hearts. I did this moving down the heart panel to cover the sky with clouds and hearts, as to look like it was raining hearts. 

The heart panel was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with thin foam tape. The frog image was then added on top. I took the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Tiny Type Stamp Set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut into strips and added to the card with thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few white gel pen highlights.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Easter Blessings

Hello there and welcome to day three of the Clearly Besotted February 2023 Teasers. Release day is 1st February 2023, so not long to wait now! My card today uses the new Easter Line Up set. If you are familiar with the Line Up series, there are images of critters all in a line, so no need for any masking (unless you want to!).

I started off my card by stamping the lambs image from the Clearly Besotted Easter Line Up Stamp Set on to a panel of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then made a mask for it by stamping the image on to masking paper, fussy cutting it out and placing it over the top.

Using ink blending brushes, I then blended Distress Inks below for the grass. I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. I removed the mask and coloured the image using Copic Markers, adding in dots over the ink blending on the grass for some added texture. Using scissors, I then cut around the top of the image, leaving a small white border.

I took another panel of white cardstock and placed the Clearly Besotted Cloudy Day Stencil on top. Using an ink blending brush, I blended on Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink for the sky. I moved the stencil down to create another line of clouds. The panel was then adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with thin foam tape. 

The sentiment from the Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental Stamp Set was stamped on to the panel below the image using more Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The panel was then adhered to the card with another layer of thin foam tape.

Clearly Besotted Teasers | Unfrogettable Birthday

Hello there and welcome to day two of the Clearly Besotted February 2023 Teasers. Release day is Wednesday 1st February 2023 but we are sharing teasers everyday until then. Today I am using the new Rain Down Corners set. This set has an April Showers feel to it and can be used for lots of different occasions.

To start my card, I stamped the frog corner image from the Clearly Besotted Rain Down Corners Stamp Set on to white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured it using Copic Markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area) and fussy cut out using scissors. 

I took another panel of white cardstock and added ink blending to the bottom right hand corner using Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and an ink blending brush. I splattered on Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White Paint and then set it aside to dry. Once dry, it was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with tape runner adhesive. 

The corner image was adhered on top with thin foam tape. I took the sentiment from the set and stamped it on to black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with more thin foam tape. To embellish, I added Little Things from Lucy's Cards Raindrops. To finish, I added white gel pen highlights to the image.
