A Happy Hello - DTDF

Hello there, today I have a card to share that I made for the DTDF Blog. I have used the MFT Happy Hellos dies which I love. I must have picked the hardest one to use for the negative though! The little bits in those letters were very fiddly to pop up on 3D foam! I have also used one my favourite butterfly dies - the Memory Box Butterfly Delights die which is meant to be a border but those butterflies are so cute I like using them on their own.

 SUPPLIES:

+ Tiny rhinestones from The Hobby House which are not on their website

Thank you so much for visiting me today. I really do appreciate it. **EDA: So honoured to say that this card was featured over at MFT Stamps as one of their Favourite Finds. You can see the post HERE. Thank you MFT!

Fancy Florals

Hello there, unfortunately I missed the release of this pretty stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps when I was sick. A little while ago I finally managed to have a play with it. I masked off a circle on to white card and then stamped the Fancy Florals flowers in various inks. The sentiment is from my favourite sentiment set - A Little Sentimental stamped on to a banner cut from the Tag Along Die set on to some vellum.

SUPPLIES:

I have recently been having some problems with my photos but thought maybe it was just me. My friend Marlou then said she was having problems too so I thought it couldn't just be me. It turns out that if you have a Google+ account, when uploading photo's to Blogger they auto-enhance them. This is a new feature and is automatically set to be on. You can turn it off however by going to your profile at https://www.google.com/settings/plus and change it there.  My blue background was so bright and I couldn't figure out why! Anyway I have now sorted it but these photos here were edited when I was still overcompensating. Hopefully though they will look better going forward!  Anyway, thank you so much for visiting me today. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Storage Sunday - New Desks

Hello there, just a quick post from me today but I wanted to share my new desks with you. I had been searching for desks for over a year but could not find any that fitted what I needed. I love the white desks from Ikea but I couldn't get them in the size that I wanted. I then tried looking for desk tops separately but again could not find the sizes I needed. My room is quite small but a strange length; it is 2.65m and I wanted the desks to fit the whole length across. I finally found some desks at Storage4Crafts. They are the Stackables desks but are the plain ones without the panels to fit the stackable in them. They are very expensive for what they are (although thankfully I bought them on promotion) but they are nice and the correct size - yay!

As you can see I have one for my computer and one to craft on. I got the larger depth ones so I have more space. I can still fit my Ikea drawer units underneath which is great. Unfortunately this time around I didn't receive the best customer service from Storage4Crafts but they did sort out my problem fairly quickly and I can recommend the desks. I have more room now and I think they brighten up my room too. Thank you so much for visiting me today, I hope you are having a lovely weekend! (despite the weather if you live in the south of England!).

Rosie Posie

Hello there, I bought PTI's Rosie Posie when it first came out a while ago and I don't think I ever used it. That is until now, I combined it with Rosie Posie Step 2 to make my mum a Birthday Card. It was a special Birthday for her but I didn't add the number on the front as I just didn't think it went with the design. Instead I decorated the inside and added it in there. The front of the card has been inspired by this gorgeous card by Ashley Cannon Newell.

I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that the crafting world is a big community and we all take inspiration from each other. I know that looking at other card makers/crafters cards is what makes me a better card maker myself. That is what makes this community what it is. I do, however, feel that it is nice to acknowledge where that inspiration has come from where applicable. I have seen a few cards recently around blog land that have been re-makes of my fellow crafters cards; no acknowledgment has been given and that makes me sad. That person has put a lot of work into their card, I am sure that they do not mind someone else taking inspiration from them; I am sure that they are honoured like I would be but I feel that it is only polite to share where that inspiration came from.

Where possible I always do this and like I said above, I feel that it is nice etiquette to do so. I know that most of you do too, those that have taken inspiration from little 'ole me and I thank you for that! Thank you for your time and visiting me as always :0)
