WOYWW #246

Hello there, today I am taking part in Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday. I often get asked how I keep my desk (and craft room in general) so tidy. My secret is to have a place for everything. My black ink pads (the ones I use the most) are kept in my top left hand drawer under my desk so as soon as I have used it I can put it back. My Copic Markers are in front of me so they can pop straight back in the cubbies. My handheld tool are also on my desk in my carousel so they can pop straight back in there too. My adhesives are in the top drawer to my right under my desk. My stamps, dies and paper pads are behind me so they are in fairly easy reach too.

Most of the time I try and clean up as I am making the card so that I don't have to clean up at the end. The exception to this is usually around Clearly Besotted Stamp release time (or the time I am making my samples). I made a sample card this morning and here is what my desk looked like straight afterwards ...

It really is still fairly tidy. The black ink pad that I used to stamp my images is already away as I got into the habit of doing that after stamping. The paper pad I used is still on my desk as well as a few various tools. I can put them away easily though, the tools I can just pop them in my carousel and the paper pad in the box behind me. The ATG laying on my new Clearly Besotted Stamps (for the March release) will also go in my carousel. The stamps will remain on my desk so that I can see them and get inspiration from them until I have made all my samples then they will be stored away like my others. The actual stamps I used for the card have been cleaned already but need to be put away on the stamp sheet. The little pot you can see? that is where I put all the backs of my 3D foam pads in otherwise they end up stuck to the bottom of my socks and walked around the house. How do they do that?! The green Post-It note pad has the details of the products I have used on the card. It helps when I write up my post and make my InLinkz product lists.

That is what is on my workdesk today, what is on yours? Thanks so much for visiting me today.

WOYWW - 207

Hello there, you may remember a couple of posts back, I said that I was looking for an alternative to Papertrey Ink Stampers Select white cardstock due to increasing shipping costs. Well here is what my desk looks like today ... yep, that is right, I have gone and ordered a ton of white cardstock to try out. I am in the process of testing them all (and I still have a few yet to arrive). I am testing them for the weight - if they can hold up to being used as a card base, how well they stamp on to and how well they work with Copic Markers.

I will let you know the results after the testing has been completed! What's On Your Workdesk today? to play along please visit Julia over at Stamping Ground for the info. Thanks for visiting me today.

WOYWW 203

Hello there, I thought I would participate in What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday again this week. As you can see there isn't actually that much on my desk. This is what it looks like on a daily basis. I have my Copic Markers to the left of my desk in Color Cubbies and my tool carousel to the right. What changes often is what is in the middle of these items.

I think I have finally got it how I like it though (for the time being anyway!). I have a white napkin holder (it is supposed to be distressed wood but I think I am going to paint it, don't do distressed you see!!) which holds my Martha Stewart Mini Score Board, my Martha Stewart note book (for blog/video ideas etc.) and then post it notes that I use to write the products that I have used to make my latest card. I have a Scotch tape dispenser and my craft mat too.

What is new for me is this basket I got it from The Glitter Pot today. I have decided to use it to hold my washi tape. I love it already! It only cost £1.45 so if I change my mind I haven't spent a fortune doing so.

That's it from my desk today. Looking forward to seeing yours. Seems Spring has finally arrived here this week in Surrey. Nice to see the sun shining. Have a lovely day!

WOYWW - 200

I haven't played along with What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday for a while so I thought I should play along again. So here is what my desk looks like today ...

This isn't actually my desk today, Wednesday, as this is a scheduled post but it is what my desk looked like on Tuesday! I thought I would give my tool carousel (from GLTC) a spring clean and I feel so much better for it. The majority of the tools/pens etc went back in to it after a clean but some of the pens were definitely past their best.

Thanks for visiting me today, have a lovely day!

WOYWW - PTI Swatch Book

Hi there, I haven't taken part in Julia's What's On Your Wordesk Wednesday for a while so although my actual desk is pretty bare right now I thought I'd show you one of the items that I use on my desk. It is my homemade Papertrey Ink swatch book. It is a way for me to not only see what colours there is but to see what supplies I have. I have first taken the PTI cardstock that I own and cut each shade into a 2"x2" square, punched a hole in the top and added to a jump ring. I have labelled each one with my Dymo Label Maker and then on the back I have added a 'normal' label. This is where I write what co-ordinating products I own to match that colour - for example: felt, buttons, ink, ribbon etc. It makes it easier for me when making a card to know what products I have then I can co-ordinate them to my hearts content!

Hope this may have inspired some of you. It would work well with Stampin' Up supplies or another company for that matter too! Thanks for visiting today. It's raining here in Surrey, pretty misarble day actually but as I still have my cold I doubt I'd be outside anyway. Hope you all have a great day though!

Oh and before I forget I'll add it to this post hence it concerns PTI. Since my last post about postage costs, they have increased their lowest cost to $50. Yep, $50 even if you purchase just one item. I did a small  impromptu order on the last release as I was desperate for the new Maile Belles butterfly set and I could use my reward points for the majority of the order. Neadless to say though, I won't be ordering from them for quite a while, sadly.

WOYWW

I haven't participated in WOYWW for a while, mainly because I haven't had anything interesting to share! Well this isn't that interesting but this is what my desk looks like today! So so messy - I hate it! It is not usually messy at all but with one thing and another I haven't managed to tidy it up. I have tons of Memento dewdrops and stamps everywhere, my ATG gun is there - I hadn't got on with this that well when I first bought it but I am getting used to it now :0) At the front of the desk however is a little SU! order from the lovely Jules that just came. The new In Colours and I thought I would treat myself to some of the Stampin' Spots as well :0)

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing your desks too. I am off to tidy up!

A little messy after making just two cards! Hmmm ... I better get on and start clearing that up!

Hope everyone is having a good day!
