Hello there, today I have my last Christmas card to share with you (sorry I couldn't share it before Christmas Day but I did not want the recipients to see it!). I thought it would be fun to have a reindeer with a light up nose, so I grabbed my Pear Blossom Press Lights and a reindeer die and this is what I came up with ...

disclosure.
I started off my card by die cutting the reindeer from the Spellbinders Cocoa Greetings Small Die of the Month July 2025 Kit. I cut it from Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock in Truffle, Fawn, Chiffon (for the inside of the ears), Raven (for the eyes), Poppy (for the nose and lightest shade on the scarf) and Pomegranate (for the darkest shade on the scarf).
I assembled and adhered him together using Bearly Art Glue. The die is meant to be used a cocoa cup, so his head is a little bit odd shaped, but I quite liked the quirkiness of him! I then punched a hole in the nose. I decided to add the hole in the nose to the left (his right!), kind of like if I were adding a highlight to it, rather than in the middle. I placed the reindeer onto the card base and drew a pencil mark through the hole in the nose. I then adhered the Pear Blossom Press - One Light on top of that mark. You can see how the mechanism works in this post.
I added R89 Copic Marker onto a bit of vellum and adhered it to the back of the reindeer behind the hole in his nose. The reindeer was then adhered to the card, on top of the light, using two layers of foam tape. I die cut the heart die in the set from Spellbinders Glitter Metallic Ruby Treasured Cardstock and lined it up with where the switch is for the light. When you press the heart, the reindeer's nose lights up!
I hot foiled the 'Merry Christmas' from the Spellbinders Merry Messages Plate & Die Set using Spellbinders Champagne Foil and die cut it out. I cut the die another two times from white cardstock, adhered them behind the foiled one for dimension, and then adhered to the card. To finish, I embellished with Spellbinders Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems.

Because of the size of the reindeer and the size of the mechanism, I wasn't able to put foam tape all around it (it just barely fit behind it!). You can see a little glow around the reindeer when the light is on but that is ok, I think it adds to the charm. I did originally add the reindeer onto a panel, which hid the mechanism better, but when the light was on, you could see a rectangle of foam tape around it, which did not look good!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I really do appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Completely adorable, Jo x
